And you Stood there in Front of me Just Close Enough to Touch Close Enough to Hope you Couldn't See What I was Thinking of
Drop Everything now, Meet me in the Pouring Rain Kiss me on the Sidewalk Take Away the Pain Janie yawned and turned over in the bed. Continuing to roll around, wanting to go back to the nice dream she'd been having, but unable to, she soon rolled herself right onto the floor. With a groan, she lifted herself and grabbed at the clock. What the heck, why was it 5 PM? And this wasn't even her clock... Confused, she lifted herself back onto the bed. This wasn't hers either...
Then she remembered frenchie. Suddenly blushing, her head whipped all around, looking for signs of clothes, damage, and her french tutor. Finding none except for the ones she finally registered were still on her body, she sighed with relief. After this, she inhaled and almost retched. Oh, god, she smelled awful! Crawling back onto the floor, she found an empty bathroom.
Deciding that she'd already invaded his space so much that it wouldn't hurt, she pushed the door open. She had to pee anyways. She saw that the place was notably clean for a single male's apartment, and she felt even worse about her condition. She did her business then turned on the shower with only slight hesitation. She was sure her host wouldn't mind. He would probably be grateful. Stripping, she dumped the clothes on the bathroom's floor and smelled like some french shampoo when she was finished.
Stepping over the disgusting clothes, her nose wrinkled. She hadn't made his entire room smell like that, thankfully, but she knew his sheets would. Completely naked, she started raiding his dresser. She grabbed a plain green v-neck and decided that she would just have to deal with using the same bra and underwear. After these undergarments were in their rightful positions, she finally noticed the other smell.
Food. Cooking. Yummyness.
Desire bubbled up in her. She hadn't eaten anything but those fries(She grimaced. That really hadn't been her best idea...) and some crumbs that day, and she'd skipped all food-related events by motivation of a random bout of depression the day before. Even without drugs, she was very hungry. The high had worn off, leaving a slightly muddled mind, but no harmful effects this time.
Finally leaving the room she'd woken up in, she inhaled the smell deeply. It was heaven. Janie smiled as her stomach grumbled and skipped into the main room, spinning to find Tristan in the kitchen, as she expected him to be. "Whatcha makin', Frenchie?" she asked with an expression of shining anticipation. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 'Cause I See Sparks Fly Whenever You Smile

I keep dreaming you'll be with meI believe that somewhere down the line Tristan checked the clock again and pulled some ingredients out of the pantry and the refrigerator. He turned on the oven and went to work on making the food. Humming a happy tune, he kneaded and whipped and rolled things. He quickly put together two masterpieces and set them to be cooked. One to boil and the other in the oven. He closed the oven door and put the top on the boiling pot.
Hmmm, what to drink? She was a bit young in this country to drink. How old was she? He thought to himself.
Tristan suddenly heard the shower running. Ah, she was up. Deciding on water, he set out the table. It had long been set for one and he was pretty excited to be finally cooking for somebody else besides his stuffy teacher and her customers.
The pot came to a boil and Tristan quickly went to stir it. He heard someone behind him and turned around.
"Whatcha makin', Frenchie?"
He took a second to collect his thoughts and answer the question. Though Tristan had many girlfriends in his teen years his mother would never let them stay the night. She was very strict about this so he usually stayed at their house. Of course there were girls running in and out of his dorm in t-shirt because of his roommate but they never wore his t-shirts. Yet there she was with his green one that he wore every once in a while. It was very different seeing Janie in it. Without pants-- He cut off his thoughts and turned back around stirring the pot with a new found purpose.
"Ragoût de Boulettes for dinner and Pudding au Chomeur for dessert. I hope you are hungry. Are you feeling bettre?" he said his voice not as loud and boomy as usual.

Drop Everything now, Meet me in the Pouring Rain Kiss me on the Sidewalk Take Away the Pain Janie tilted her head as he took longer to answer than she assumed he would. Though maybe he just had to take in her sudden appearance. Running one hand through her still slightly damp hair nervously, she smiled as he answered. And he was still stirring the...
"Ragoût de Boulettes for dinner and Pudding au Chomeur for dessert."
That. Whatever that meant in French, as she'd honestly forgotten any lessons that had to do with cooking, it sounded very very yummy. Not to mention that it smelled even better than it sounded and looked. She'd never been able to cook for her life.
"I hope you are hungry. Are you feeling bettre?"
She smiled again, tugging down at the shirt automatically to remind herself to be patient. "I could eat. Especially something you made, and definitely because I could smell it from your room," she said, glancing around, and finally realizing that she probably should've asked to use his shirt... "Oh, um... Sorry, I hope you don't mind me borrowing this... I just felt kind of gross in my clothes, y'know?" she said, putting a hand behind her head, smile turning sheepish. "Anyways, I'm a whole lot better now... I have a bit of a headache, but it's nothing I can't manage," she admitted, though her brow was now furrowed in thought. She'd never cared about borrowing a guy's shirt before. They'd never really cared unless it was a "lucky" shirt or if it actually belonged to their roommate. Speaking of which... This apartment was a little big for just one person. "Hey, isn't this place kinda big for just one person? Where's your roommate?" Janie echoed her thoughts, confused expression remaining on her face. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 'Cause I See Sparks Fly Whenever You Smile

I keep dreaming you'll be with meI believe that somewhere down the line Tristan stopped stirring and let the food simmer. The aroma of it filled his nose and it brought back memories of being in his mother's restaurant. He smiled and checked on the pie.
"Oh, um... Sorry, I hope you don't mind me borrowing this... I just felt kind of gross in my clothes, y'know? Anyways, I'm a whole lot better now... I have a bit of a headache, but it's nothing I can't manage,"
"No no it's fine. I understand," he said turning back around, "there's watre on the table if you need zome."
Tristan looked at Janie and saw that she indeed looked much better than a few hours ago. He really never smoked anything but his roommate back in the dorms used to come in stoned on occasion. He really never understood the reason to do it if it made you look and feel that bad. Americans were strange.
"Hey, isn't this place kinda big for just one person? Where's your roommate?"
"Well, I would like a roommate but no one was been kind enough to azk. Most of them eithre live in the dorm or at 'ome," he replied.
Tristan went back to the food and took a taste. A smile crept onto his face and he knew it was ready. Grabbing two plates from the pantry he poured the meatballs and sauces onto two plates and brought then to the table.
"Dinnre is served," he announced in an alluring voice. He sat down and waited for Janie to take the first bite.

And you Stood there in Front of me Just Close Enough to Touch Close Enough to Hope you Couldn't See What I was Thinking of
Drop Everything now, Meet me in the Pouring Rain Kiss me on the Sidewalk Take Away the Pain Janie inhaled deeply as he turned again. The smell was near intoxicating, and she reluctantly held herself back from swiping a sample before he answered her awkwardly posed half-question. Still confused about the embarrassment now creeping onto her face in the form of a blush, she rubbed at her suddenly red cheeks and hoped he wouldn't see.
"No no it's fine. I understand," he said turning back around, "there's watre on the table if you need zome."
Well, that was nice of him. He was looking her over... Well, she supposed he was simply checking for signs of a lie that she felt fine. After all, she'd managed to convince him that she could stay awake long enough to get into his car... Or had he been taking her home? She couldn't remember...
Suddenly thinking, a question popped out of her mouth before she could stop it. "Hey, how'd you get me here anyways? Did you carry me or something?" she asked, tugging on the sleeves of the shirt with a small wince at her inability to think before speaking. She usually resented how much taller a person was than her, but the larger shirt in this case made her feel safe, and somehow.... warm.
As she contemplated this, she moved over to sip the water, only to have Tristan chime in again.
"Well, I would like a roommate but no one was been kind enough to azk. Most of them eithre live in the dorm or at 'ome,"
Janie frowned at this. "How rude!" she exclaimed, before continuing in a hasty afterthought. "I would totally be your roomie if I didn't already have a homicidal one at Baum. I'm going to Barrie next year though, so maybe we could..." she said, then nearly mentally slapped herself. Who was she kidding? She was feeling the most awkward she'd had in years just by being in this man's apartment and borrowing a shirt. She should be grateful! She WAS grateful, it was just... Tristan was different. Besides, all of her roommates had so far been even more messed up than herself. Tristan, though it would be refreshing, she would be self-conscious every second. Why this was, she still couldn't figure out. Just as she turned to glance at Tristan again, he was coming to her with the food. "Dinnre is served,""You're way too nice..." she mumbled, sitting down across from him and picked up a fork. "Bon appetite?" she said jokingly and proceeded to dig in. Chewing the amazingness, she couldn't help but smile. "This is awesome!" she claimed after she'd swallowed. The more she ate the guiltier she felt, but the food was slowly clearing up her odd mood. She now felt that she could at least converse normally. "I feel like such a free-loader, but at the moment I don't really care," she commented, continuing to eat with joy. I keep dreaming you'll be with meI believe that somewhere down the line "Hey, how'd you get me here anyways? Did you carry me or something?"
Tristan nodded slowly. "You are very light. I did not want to wake you," he answered quickly before sitting down. Janie started talk about her roommate and used a word that he didn't quite understand but he nodded anyway. She began to mention something about how she could be his roommate when she came to Baum next year.
"Ah but I cannot keep you from the fun of dorm life. You will mizz all the parties," he said. He then began to think of Janie with all of the drunkards and rude people at those parties and thought otherwise. Most of those parties ended in huge headaches anyway.
Her compliment brought him out of his thoughts and he almost missed his favorite part of cooking: watching the person take the first bite. Their reaction always made or broke the dish. He watched her eat the food and smile and his eyes lingered on that smile. Her smile made him smile.
"Thank you, It is so nice to be cooking for othres besides myself. I'm glad you like it," he said shyly his eyes still lingering on her.

Dammit. She still hated her light stature. With a pout she poked her tummy. Because she didn't work out much it was still kind of squishy, but there still wasn't much of it at all... Well, she supposed her dancing counted as a workout, she definitely sweated during it, but she loved it all the same so she'd never really thought of it as beneficial for anything but her mind and soul before. As deep in the cracks as those aspects of her person were, dancing revitalized every part.
Apparently he didn't understand the word homicidal. This thought brought her back to real time and made her smile. She supposed it wasn't a word that they felt was needed to be taught. Hopefully it was one that people wouldn't have to use much, so maybe it was a form of wishful thinking that they wouldn't have to ever know what certain things meant. Well, homicidal wasn't a slang term, though she knew perfectly well that it was hard for foreigners to grasp a language like English. It was a rather hard one to learn. This was obvious just in his accent.
"Ah but I cannot keep you from the fun of dorm life. You will mizz all the parties,"
"If it's a concern then you could just move to the dorms, you know. I'd hate for you to miss out on all of the parties too, and I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself fully if I knew you were lonely..." she informed him with another small pout. It was true, she hated the thought of him being cooped up alone. What was the point of having anything at all if there was no one to share it with? "If you liked the parties then why'd you move to an apartment anyways?" she asked curiously.
"Thank you, It is so nice to be cooking for othres besides myself. I'm glad you like it,"
He was looking at her... And smiling... His smiled caused the blush to sneak back onto her cheeks and she motioned to his own plate. "You should eat too. It is your food, after all," she reminded him, smiling again. "I love it. You're like a professional," Janie complimented, taking more bites. "I'm really glad I'm here right now..." I keep dreaming you'll be with meI believe that somewhere down the line
Tristan felt his heart beat faster with all the questions. The air seemed hot and stuffy. His hands itched for his lighter. Instead he stayed put and began to choke on his English, "No, no It- I am fine being lonely-alone, that way I can sleep, yes sleep. The dorms are too fort- loud. No one wantz to dance with zumeone who they cannot undrestand anywhere-way," he cursed internally and looked down at his plate.
He did not like the way it felt when he lied to Janie. Getting kicked out of the dorms wasn't exactly something he was proud of. He didn't want Janie knowing that. Taking drugs or drinking and getting caught was bad but he was sure none of Janie's friends started a fire and burned their roommate. It was something his mom didn't even know about. He wasn't even sure how it happened. But he knew it was his fault.
"Delsole, I-"
"You should eat too. It is your food, after all,"
"Yes, thank you," he said getting a grip. His casual smile appeared on his face again and he took a bite. It need a bit more of something. He would have to work on that.
"I'm really glad I'm here right now..."
Tristan felt himself relax. Everything was going to be fine.
"Me too, Mon- Janie," he smiled. He gazed at her for a few long seconds.
The timer on the over dinged and Tristan snapped out of it. He felt his face get hot and he got up quickly. "That would be dessert."
