Drake fell out of his chair.
He didn't exactly PLAN it, it just kinda happened. There wasn't much he could do about it, either, what with the massive pain in his chest. Shit, he was having trouble breathing. This was definitely the worst it had ever been. He could still feel the high rushing through his system. Hell, this was so worth the rush. He knew nothing like this was ever going to happen again. Boss Puck must have just accidentally dropped something into it. Having the crack be cut with some other shit was always a risk that Drake took, and hey, it usually only led to better highs so why question it? If the price he paid was a little pain then so be it. He was willing to pay.
Ow, fuck. He could feel the snot running down his cheeks from his nose. He hated the fucking runny noses They always stopped after a hile, but this one just kept going. Shit.
Whatever. Everything was fine, right? At least the high was good. He was totally fine. Nothing could kill him! Not that crocodile not anything-
Oh...fuck. That crocodile. He could practically still hear the ticking. He felt like he was a kid again, sprawled on the ground at the aquarium. He could hear the ticking. The ticking that wouldn't cease, and it was in rhythm with the mashing of the teeth and the pounding on the glass every once in while.
He cried out in fear. He wasn't sure if this was just part of the memory that was washing over him or if he did it in real life. Either way, he was scared. The crocodile, his hand, the ticking... Shit, he could feel himself shaking. Shaking was never good, and his hand was hurting like hell, but maybe that was just part of the memory. He couldn't tell anymore.
Why was it so dark? He could barely see anything. He felt like the shadows were creeping up on him, waiting to eat him whole. His hand was throbbing while the rest of his body quaked and he was sweating like crazy. Every breath he took was hard work. His heart was beating out of his chest.
He couldn't die now. Not yet. If the crocodile hadn't gotten him, fucking crack wasn't going to either. Shit, he couldn't die. He couldn't die. He couldn't die yet.... WORDS: 402

Run, run, run, run, run, run! He said OD on the computer! He said OD on the computer! SuChin ran down the hall way in her pajamas's and robe, one of her slippers falling off in the middle of the hall. She didn't care! Drake was dying! He couldn't die! If he died... SuChin couldn't even bring herself to think of something so awful and horrible and terrible! She barely even noted her eyes being clouded with the possibility of tears.
It occurred to her with some bitterness that it should be Veronica, evil evil Veronica, rushing down the hall. It should be her freaking out, on the brink of tears! SuChin wasn't his girlfriend! Why was she the one charging down the hall on a proverbial white horse?
Because she loved him.
Because she wanted so very much to be in Evil Evil Veronica's shoes. It was an ugly, horrid, disgusting pill to swallow! Like a piece of raw, rancid chicken it burned her gut to think that she would want to ever be such a horrible person! But SuChin could not think of that now! She had to be strong! She had to be clear headed! Drake was on the line! Even if he wasn't her boyfriend (a sharp pain pierced her belly, but she managed to ignore it) he was still her oldest, greatest, dearest friend. AND HE WAS NOT GOING TO DIE!!
Bursting through his door with out bothering to knock, SuChin saw Drake laying on the floor. "Drake!"
[/color] She through off her other pink slipper, it causing more hinderence than aid at this point, and fell to his side. "Drake! Can you here me!?"[/color] His face was flushed, beads o sweat forming on his head in spite of being terribly clammy. Veronica didn’t think anyone understood how much she really did love Drake Sterling.
She had never cheated on him. In fact, he was the first and only guy she’d ever dated. She’d never even liked anyone else. Guys would flirt with her in middle school, and she’d break their arms. But the moment she laid eyes on him…she thought that maybe she could love someone after all.
The first time he’d slept with someone else (or at least the first time she found out about it), she’d almost had a nervous breakdown.
But she’d learn to accept it. Because that’s what you do when you love someone.
She couldn’t bring herself to be angry at him, and it was the most frustrating thing in the world. There was something in his smile that made her forget about all the times he’d lied to her, and used her, and hurt her. There was something that made her kiss him and say, “I’m okay. I forgive you,” when she really wasn’t okay at all.
So she learned to live with it. She’d even tried to compromise. One whore a month, she’d told him, but he’d use excuses to get around it. “You weren’t here,” he’d say calmly. “You said you couldn’t come over.”
And she truthfully didn’t know how to respond.
It wasn’t her fault. Sometimes she was busy. Sometimes she was tired. Sometimes she just wanted to talk. She could understand that Drake had his needs, and she gave him as much as she could. And yet, he continued to sneak around.
So what the fuck was wrong with her?
God, she couldn’t take this right now. Why didn’t he ever listen to her? Drugs were obviously amazing. But she’d seen too many people…too many of her friends go down the overdose route. And frankly, she was scared for him. He had no idea how to take things in moderation.
Every time she told him he needed to be careful, he’d just smile at her and mutter, “Don’t worry about it babe, you don’t have to be my mom.” He usually kissed her after that, which was nice.
Except sometimes she thought he kissed her so much just to shut her up.
Her hand shook as she viciously rattled the doorknob. Sure, she smoked weed every day, but she hadn’t done the harder stuff in almost a week. Why? Because she might have possibly, sort of been afraid. Afraid of things like this.
She knew she knew how to handle things. She knew when enough coke was enough coke. But she knew that Drake didn’t. And maybe she thought that if she was a good example, he wouldn’t make a mistake he’d regret.
Obviously, she’d been wrong.
Shit. He wasn’t answering the door. This meant one of two things.
Number 1) He was dead.
Number 2) He was screwing around with some girl.
Either way, she needed that door to fucking open.
“DRAKEY!” she screeched, banging on the door. “Drakey, darling, let me in!”
No answer.
“Drake!” she cried. “Baby, open the door.”
Still no answer.
Time for the last resort. With a scream, Veronica raised her high heeled combat boot and kicked as hard as she possibly could. Much to her satisfaction, the door clattered to the floor, right off its hinges.
And what the hell was this bitch doing?
“Get the fuck off him, Sushi!”
She fiercely grabbed the stupid girl by her wrist and flung her across the room. There was a crash as she toppled over a desk. Served her right. Now to attend to her actual purpose.
“Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god,” Veronica panted, laying down next to him and wrapping her arms around his waist. God, he looked terrible. He looked almost…pathetic. This wasn’t even the Drake she knew. The Drake she knew was strong and confident and basically invincible.
“Are you okay?” she whispered. “What happened? Babe, I was so, so, so, so worried about you. Don’t die on me. You have your whole life ahead of you. You haven’t even married me yet!”
She stroked her hand through his hair as a way of reassurance, but her eyes glared icily at the girl across the room. In a burst of fury, she leapt off of the bed and shoved that little hoe against the wall.
“And you,” she growled. “You fucking little pathetic worthless piece of panda SHIT. He doesn’t want your help. He wants your fucking science homework! When are you going to get it? When are you finally going to realize that everyone hates you? GET OUT!”
In the middle of her rant, however, she spotted something that she hadn’t seen before.
A phone.
“WAIT!” Veronica cried, snatching it from the little whore’s hand. Just as she’d suspected. The number ‘9’ was already dialed.
“Were you…going to call the police?” she hissed. “Are you fucking out of your mind? Do you want him to get arrested?! You’re fucking STUPID! It’s a good thing I came along, or Drake would be spending tonight in a JAIL cell instead of with ME, the love of his LIFE!”words 859 tagged drake, suchin, janie notes

  AS THE WORLD SPINS AND DANCES IN MY HANDS
LIFES A BEACH IM JUST PLAYING IN THE SAND
Drake's closet was honestly a little dull. Janie wasn't going to lie, it was frustrating how few skeletons she could dig up. Well, y'know, not LITERALLY. She wasn't even sure if you could, like, dig through carpet... Well, duh you could cut through, like, boring carpet, but this was covered in tiny colored speckles. She knew it wasn't anything gross because every dorm carpet looked like that, and no matter how hard she tried they wouldn't come out. She was entertained by the color, but this game of trying to tear it was abandoned soon after she cut her thumb on a piece of glass buried between two enticing bright yellow spots.
Making odd clicking noises with her tongues, she continued to sift through the mess. She tried on one of Drake's shirts and inhaled the familiar smell of smoke. When did Drake get so big? She knew she was perpetually tiny, but had there really been THIS much of a difference? Apparently so.
She finally had a worthy find in the form of an old notebook which she soon discovered to be filled with drawings of naked women, all signed by Drake himself. Though at first they were simple random pieces, not good at all, they became better as he started drawing his own slash comic. She found herself gripped by the plot while at the same she wished she could tell the difference between Sue and Velma.
Caught up in reading, she'd shut the closet door, but she soon heard yelling. Opening the door and reluctantly putting down the sex scribbles, she glanced around and found Drake on the floor. However, the more pressing was the arrival of two girls. "Suuuu! Vee-Jee! Whatcha doin'?" she called though they were right next to her and then proceeded to half-tackle, half-hug the two.
"Oh my god, total party! Drake, you silly, get off of the floooooor!" she exclaimed, letting go of the two girls bodies to grab their wrists and pulling them along with her as she squatted next to the boy. "Drakeyyyyyy~ Wake up, silly boy," Janie commanded, letting go of the females and poking Drake in the stomach with a ruler which had previously been next to her foot.

Suddenly there were lights everywhere. What the fuck? He didn't remember lights being a part of the crocodiles in the aquarium... wait. What if the Crocoiles were like, aliens? And the lights were the motherfuckingship? And they were gonna probe him.
SHIT. He didn't want to be probed by alien crocs. That sounded too fucked up even for him.
Was someone talking to him? He tried to pa attention. Shit, maybe it would help if he opened his eyes. Yeah. That would work.
Holy fuck. Why was SuChin here? What was going on? Was he hallucinating this? Was this f'real? Or not? What the hell?! One minute it felt like he was living in a memory waiting to be saved from the killer crocodiles from beyond the stars and the next he was very much so grounded in reality.
Well, as grounded in reality as a person who's hopped up on cocaine can be. It was a little hard to keep focused and he was pretty sure that SuChin was somehow achieving the feat of being part person and part panda at the same time, but it was no big deal, right? Everything was fine. He was here, he was fine, Panda-su was cool and everything was just...chill.
Holy fucking no, was that a phone? What was panda-su doing/ He was fine! Phones made everything worse. phones called the police who were notoriously the WORST possible party crashers ever. They were all such Debby Downers and who wanted a Debby when they were high? NO ONE, that's who. Drake sure as hell didn't.
A crash like a thousand clanging cans and bullets and fireworks and other loud shit suddenly filled his brain and it felt like it was ripping every cell in his brain apart. . . Violently.
Drake was pretty sure that Veronica was in the room now. Actually, he was pretty damn positive. Nothing else on Earth could manage to make the same enraged noise that she managed to perfect for whenever Drake fucked up. Oh shit, he was sooooo fucked up.
AH, HOLY FUCKING SHIT. THAT WASN'T VERONICA! THAT WAS A...A... A FUCKING TARANTULA BEAR PIRAHANNAHA! WHY WAS THE TARANTUBEARANNAHA TALKING TO HIM?He could feel its eyes burning into his skull and he was absolutely terrified. Where did the nie panda go? He could deal with a pretty panda, not this hideous spidermonster with a bajillion legs and teeth the size of a cow.
His tongue was tied but luckily he could finally tell that the demon had left him and she was screaming across the room. That was at least better. When he couldn't see it it apparently went back to being just crazy Veronica trying to kill one of his other little mistakes. Wait. . . This time the little mistake was PandaSu. . . PandaSu wasn't a mistake! SuChin was NOT a mistake!

Son of a Gingerbread Man!
Looking at the toppled over door, she saw her rival standing strong as an Amazon. SuChin didn't mind Veronica's presence (okay, maybe she did a little) but why did she have to be so heinous? "Veronica, he's messed up, we need to-" So much for calling the ambulance, the phone was snatched out of her hands. "I wasn't calling the police, I was calling for an ambu-" She stopped, knowing it was pointless. Veronica had the phone and nothing SuChin could say would sway her. She could make a powerpoint with all the logical facts on why it was a good idea to call an ambulance, and Veronica would just scream obscenities and insults at her.
Janie seemed to appear out of nowhere, and for all intensive purposes was completely out of it. Being swung into a group hug with Veronica was hardly something SuChin was in the mood for, and so she wriggled out of it and knelt down to check on Drake. She couldn't worry about Veronica, or even Janie (who seemed pretty doped up but okay at the moment). Leaning forward over him she watched his chest rise and fall, a little quick, but at least he was breathing. Taking his wrist, SuChin could feel his speedy pulse, quick as a rabbit. "Oh. Drake..."
Janie was next to her, poking him in the chest, telling him to get up with a child-like imperiousness. SuChin tried to focus, opening his eye lids, looking into his deep and wide black pupils. They were dilated, barely even registering the fact that light touched them. And then he spoke... Did he just call her Pie? He hadn't called her Pie since... he was about twelve. Sixth grade, he decided their nicknames weren't cool anymore. "Everything is fine Creepie." She said, trying to keep her voice soft and soothing. Talking was good! He was at least coherent enough to know that She and Veronica were there.
"Veronica, I know your scared." Su kept the soft voice, and deep down she felt sorry for Veronica. It was terrifying to see the person you love in such a state. "Drake heart rate is really high. If we yell," By we, Su meant her. SuChin rarely yelled. "It might provoke his body to react. Like a heart attack. We need to stay calm, and try to stay civil." Looking up at the red haired girl, who Su often loathed and wished would just vanish, she gave her a gentle pleading look.
"For Drake."

It took all the strength Veronica had to not yank the girl’s hair out strand by strand. How dare she even touch Drake. She let this happen in the first place!
"This is not a party, you fucking whore!" she scowled, and crushing Janie's hand (the one not holding the ruler) with her combat boot. "This is DRAKE DYING. I hope you're happy! I hope you’re happy that my boyfriend is fucking dying and you just sat there and watched like the little whore you are!"
Oh no. This was getting bad. Veronica could barely even breathe anymore. She was going to lose it. She was going to start doing something she hadn’t done since she was an infant. She could already feel the first tear forming, and it stunned her.
"Pie? Ronny? What's.... what? What's goin'....now?"
Ronny. Her heart skipped a beat at the sound of his voice. He was alive! He was going to survive! And he’d used her nickname. It made her feel special, to know that she’d been his first thought.
Except…wait a second. What was that other thing he’d said? Something about pie? What was he talking about pie for? Oh no, it was worse than she’d thought. He was hallucinating about pie...
Everything is fine, Creepie…

WHAT? Was Panda Face implying that Drake's devoted girlfriend was too scared to handle a situation properly? What. the. hell?! Veronica caused fear! She didn't feel it! At least not in her opinion.
“Scared?!” she shrieked. “I’m not scared! What the hell is wrong with you? I know how to help him, AND YOU DON'T!"

A heart attack? Oh God no. Drakey could not have a heart attack. Then she’d probably have a heart attack. Oh no. What if he did end up dying? Everything that was good in her life would be gone. It was making her tremble just to think about it.
But she couldn’t possibly take advice from Sushi. Sushi would never understand. She didn’t understand how it felt to love someone and think you’re about to lose them.
Veronica looked the skinny little bitch dead in the eye.
“I don’t trust you,” she hissed. “I don’t believe a word that leaves your mouth. Do you know how many drugs I have experimented with? I have experience. You have nothing except your fucking science textbook that helps Drake pass his class. You mean nothing to him. So don’t you dare tell me what to do.”

Tears welled in Janie's eyes. A few escaped and ran down her face as she dragged her hand away from the pain of the boots. Whimpering, she backed away from Veronica. "What's wrong? Drakey isn't dying, he's just sleeping..." she informed the girl, wincing and expecting more abuse. She was starting to hate her roommate. Did she have to be so violent?
Apparently so, as she always was. 'Why do I have to deal with this? Can't she just lay off for one second?' she thought, hugging her head. A headache was definitely starting to form, and a splitting one at that.
“Scared?!” she shrieked. “I’m not scared! What the hell is wrong with you? I know how to help him, AND YOU DON'T!"
Veronica wasn't helping. SuChin was talking, she was smarter than Vee. Why couldn't she tell that she really didn't know how to help him?

Janie's brow furrowed again, and she approached the boy who had finally woken up again. "Drake, aren't you fine?" she asked. "Weren't you sleeping?" she continued, starting to become worried. What was wrong? Why did they sound so serious? He didn't seem any different than he usually did.

"SHUT UP!" Janie finally yelled, glaring at Veronica. "Will you PLEASE just SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY!? IF something's wrong with Drake, then you are the last person who could help. You're trying to kill people half of the time anyways, what the hell makes you think you could ever have the capacity to save a life? A fucking science textbook is going to help a lot more than you will, and Su does not mean nothing to Drake. She's known him since they were little. I don't believe you, Vee. What happened? Shouldn't you take SuChin's advice if you want your boyfriend to live that badly?"
Janie didn't know where the outburst had come from, but part of her realized that all of this anger had been stowed away in one of the various crevices of her mind, waiting for any necessary provocation. She'd received it, she'd reached her breaking point, and it was totally trippy.
Triumphant but nervous, she rubbed her injured hand and glared at the girl. She stood, though she was still shaky, and looked her dead in the eyes. "I'm not afraid of you. Everything I've said, none of it was opinion. It was all fact, and you have no idea how you to help him right now, so just don't try. Knowing you, he'll end up even worse than he already is," Janie said, a fully triumphant smirk forming on her face.
She wasn't going to be brought down by this bitch anymore.

They kept talking and screeching, and Drake could hear numerous noises bombarding into his thoughts, but he couldn't really decipher any of it. this was bad. this was worse than ever before. He couldn't comprehend what was going on, he couldn't think. Weren't the drugs supposed to make his problems go away? Weren't they supposed to help him forget about all the hoes he had in his life? Instead they were confusing him and scaring him and had somehow managed to summon all three chicks he had contending with him daily.
Pain shot through his mind, piercing everything. He was pretty sure he was no longer breathing, and some heaving in his chest was confirming that. He gasped and coughed, not knowing what the hell was going on. In the back of his head he heard a ghastly ticking noise and fear washed over him. He was so confused an scared. What was happening to him? What had been in that blow?
He was pretty sure that he wasn't seeing his life flash before his eyes. it was more like certain phrases and snatches of memories were just shooting through his mind while his brain tried to pump out directions for his body one last time.
Ice cream at the docks. Sun shining. Wind Blowing. Happy. He was thinking in scattered themes and ideas. Nothing was really coherent.
"Wanna play?" SuChin. Boats. Running. He was Captain Drake. She was First Mate SuChin. She was Pie. He was Cre-
Dad. There he was. Standing at the helm of the boat, strong and tall and smiling and laughing and playing with them and pushing the boat further and showing them how to fish and and and. Everything was perfect. If the pain wasn't shooting down his spine every moment he would have thought that dad really was there and he would have forgotten every other moment of his life.
Then, before Drake could fully appreciate being with his dad and rejoice in the memories of having him back, he was there, at the school. A freshman, knowing no one. There was that one prick, that absolute asshole that had said something bitchy about Drake's hand.
Fighting. Punching, biting, tearing. It didn't matter. Drake just knew that he was fighting like a rabid animal to make that little bastard pay for what he had said. And then there she was. Ronny. Veronica. The fucking smoking hot redhead who helped with a few kicks to the bastard while he was down.
Kissing. Shit she was hot. the whole thing was freaking intense: tongues and hands and wow.
And then there was smoke and marijuana and crack and reefer and blunts and everything that made him. Janie and Darius and Veronica and he was happy and high all the time. Everything was perfect.

It touched SuChin, that Janie would stick up for her. It truly did. But it was more shocking that she said that to VERONICA FUCKING SCOTT! Oh God! She said that to Veronica Scott! Su had to do something! Anything! She obviously could not fight the imposing Veronica. SuChin was so small, so fragile, so meek. And Veronica was... well... not. So she had to try another method.

But what could she say to Veronica. She had to think fast. Veronica... little (hehe, or very tall) sadist. She would want SuChin to be in pain. It would flatter her to hold something over someone, even if it was someone so insignificant. "Janie! She's right!" Her voice was hollow, and felt as if coated with a sticky syrup. "She's right. I am nothing to Drake. I-I always have been. I'm a glorified cheat sheet. But Veronica... he loves Veronica." She looked at Veronica, dead in the eye. "He loves you. He as always loved you! But he can't stay here and love you anymore... if you don't let me.. us... help him. We can... do it. Together. I can... assist you." Smile now, cry later. Smile now, cry later. Smile now, cry later. These words were venom. They were evil. She felt empty inside. Freeeeench, this sucked. "Please, let me help you."
Her plea was interrupted by a twisted cough that came from Drake. It sounded painful, and she watched his eyes roll back in his head, revealing only the whites. She checked his pulse, which raced like a hummingbird, and looked at him closely. She told them! She told them if they didn't stay calm.... NO! She couldn't think about that now! Drake was having a heart attack. Quick as she could move, which was pretty quick for such a little person, she dug out a bottle of asprin from his front left pocket of his book bag. It was just one of those random things he would carry, in case of hang overs and whatnot.
"Veronica! Do you know 'Pirates life'? That song, from the Pirates movie? The one with Johnny Depp? If you hum that tune to him, I... it will calm him down! He has to get calm." She said, making the order sound like a request. "Come and put his head on your knees like a pillow! You'll be the f-first thing he sees when he wakes up, and he'll be so happy." She hated herself right now. Giving something like that to Veronica. She gave Janie a look, though she had not meant to, that clearly revealed the pain she was in about this whole ugly situation. Taking out two of the asprins, she put them under his teeth and made him chew gently, pumping his jaw with her hand. "That's it Drake. Chew them up. That's it." She cooed gently.
