"I'll just order the food then."

Crap. He had forgotten something very important.

"Oh, and... by the way... did I tell you I'm vegetarian?" he interjected, biting his lip at the timing of his statement.

Rule number one of not dying a virgin: you let your girlfriend know of your eating habits before you eat together.

Shut up, Erik, Eric thought, before he explained, "Yeah, I'm still upholding that even after my parents died. Sort of a thing to honor the memory, you know?" He chuckled nervously, only to assume she DIDN'T know. Instead of attempting to talk to Darcy any further, he focused his attention on Joe Friday instead, petting the little dog and feeding him attention as he had done before.

"The food should be here in about forty minutes."

"Ahaa... good, good," Eric replied, chuckling nervously. He couldn't think of what else to say to her, since he was tongue-tied, now once again extremely nervous about talking to Darcy when he was reminded how little experience he had. Quite oddly, he hadn't had those types of thoughts about not impressing her for quite a while. Perhaps because he thought they were solid, and absolutely nothing could tear them apart.

Eric basked in those thoughts as Darcy continued to speak.

"And my Dad has some champagne and wine that he won't really miss.

Eric then snapped out of his thoughts. "I, uh... don't really drink," he admitted sheepishly.

Virgin.

Shut up.

It was an awkward few minutes.

"Sooo, how about a tour?

"Cool," Eric replied, standing up.

I see nothing good coming from this, Erik pointed out, but Eric ignored him. But that's just me. That's just my opinion, but in this case, my opinion doesn't matter.

"Have you ever had Gnocchi? It's really just delicious! And vegetarian!" She winked at him easily, though she was secretly (and figuratively) wiping the sweat off her brow. That could have been a disaster, had she ordered something super meaty. Lopping her arm around his, she squeezed his fondly.

Of course, she truly liked Eric, though she didn't know much about him. Darcy had a pattern with guys, and though Eric was a different personality than she usually went, everything else was up to quo. Her last boyfriend was technically two weeks ago, though she considered them broken up three. What she knew about Eric was little: He was a sensitive artist, his parents were dead, apparently he was a vegetarian. But that's why you date people, she thought, because you want to get to know them. Oh lookit that! He didn't drink either, you learn something new everyday. Her cheeks brightened at the faux pas, but she tried not dwell on it.

She guided him through the pretty and high techy kitchen (boooooring), pointed to the bathroom and the dining room flippantly (equally boooooring), and stopped at her Dad's office. With an almost childlike apprehension Darcy opened the door to the office. "Pretty nice, huh?" Darcy spoke in a low voice, as if speaking in a church, with a level of reverence to match. "It's not quite as... dramatic, as he likes the rest of the house. Kinda... homey." She sat in his desk chair and twirled for a moment, before pointing to the walls. "Those are his girls. Well, not like, girlfriend. Though some of them... any ways. He manages them. The one in the middle, is my Mom." Darcy's eye's lingered on a woman who looked similar to her, with obvious mistakes. Darcy's face was rounder, her nose was different, the hue of her skin was slightly darker. "She was one of his first real big finds. They fell in love..." Darcy's face dropped a little. "And then they fell out. Let's go lookit the rest of the house."

Rising from her seat, her honey sweet smile was fixed right back into place. Such a dark thing to talk about, her parents divorce. It had been messy, nasty, gritty. None of those adjectives suited Darcy, so she (emotionally) jumped ship. Grabbing his hand, she brought him down to her room, lifting her arms in a ta-dah fashion.

She loved her room. First of all, it was sooo pink! Pink and orange, her favorite colors ever. Especially together! Second, it had this cool Eastern meets Western chic too it, so that was pretty rad. It was large, giving Darcy lots of room to romp around, bouncing and whatnot. "This is my room, if you can't tell by the color scheme." She walked up to her desk, which had been a desk long ago, but had over time become a vanity. Make up scattered around the little mirror sitting in the middle, as well as a fancy scarf and bra, which she knocked down and pushed under the table smoothly. Around the desk was various pictures, a Wizards banner, a Macaw (her Hawaiin Highschool mascot) banner, and a sketch of herself done by her BFF Benji. The photos were mangled, the faces of exes cut out, leaving her smiling next to a hole. Like with Butch, James, and Sam. Other, more whole photos were of her and Benji, quite a few of her and her Father.

"It's a bit bare." She spoke critically. "I'm not here very often. Just holidays, and a little bit in the summer." She sat on the bed, not sure what else to say. Unfortunately this caused room for babbling. "The house is usually just for show. Both of us, me and Dad, are so busy all the time. It makes it hard to see each other. Like on days... like today. I'm use to it really. I'm actually really happy you showed up." Darcy moved closer to him, her eyes lowered coyly. "Gives me something to be thankful for."
