"Claro, no soy exigente." He nodded and reached for another brightly colored soda can."Hey, you should order that pizza. I'm going to go and raid your closet." He grinned at her statement, not even caring that it was his house and she was essentially ordering him around. He called the nearest pizza place and after listening to the stuttering teenager tell him about the specials he ordered a pizza and hung up before the boy could say the joint's promise of "Ready in 20 Minutes or it's Free!" He took another drink of his soda and turned to see Rose propped up on the counter, wearing her shorts and one of his shirts that looked much sexier on her. Her blue eyes were round and doe-like. "He decidido hoy no es un éxito hasta que me pongo cada pieza de ropa que usted posee." "¡Oh, usted tiene, ¿eh?" Guillermo's eyes were glued to hers as she pulled him close, but didn't kiss him. She smiled and he felt himself smile in return. Infectious as her smiles were, he couldn't imagine why she kept the smirk on all the time. He leaned forward and kissed her on th cheek, surprising even himself. Not wanting to address what he' d just done, he said, "You know what I've been wondering? Why are you obviously so Latina, but you don't look like it?" Had to have some way to pass the time.

"¡Oh, usted tiene, ¿eh?" She laughed a little, merely nodding in response as she looked into his eyes. They were more chocolate brown, rather than fawn. Inexplicably, he kissed her cheek. Not in a oh-I'm-a-sexy-beast sort of way either. In a your-super-cute way that startled her. It seemed to startle him as well, as he quickly jumped to a new subject. "You know what I've been wondering? Why are you obviously so Latina, but you don't look like it?" A frown creased her face slightly, not in annoyance at Guillermo, but the question itself.
Since she was a little girl, and able to speak such fluent Spanish, her classmates often inquired to this. Why was the blue eyed, pale skinned, gringo speaking like she was a little Chica? And when she would explain to them her heritage, and her Mother, they instantly dismissed her as a liar due to her gringo surname. It was all rather obnoxious to her. But a fair question none-the-less.
"Well," She began, wrapping her legs around him absentmindedly, speaking in a rehearsed-I've-explained-this-seventeen-billion-and-one-times voice. "My Father- Flinch. -is an American. French and Irish or some shit like that. White. Gringo. But my Mother, and my Uncle, are from Bucaramanga, in Colombia. She came here on a student visa or some shit, and they eloped and had little ol' me." While most would expect this to be said in a happycute voice, she spoke more dismissively, shrugging to add to further stress her distaste for it. Her arms wrapped around his neck, resting her lips beneath his chin.
Suddenly, she pulled back, releasing him completely, her face a slightly startled. What was she doing? Snuggling? Being kissed on the cheek while talking about feelings and stuff? Covering her sudden release, she took a drink from her pop, smiling at him. She hadn't meant to be so dramatic with the telling of her heritage. She could have left it at 'Mom's Brazilian, Dad's white'. She kept letting her guard down, and it was really starting to piss her off dammit. She was a Master of Guard. And he was just a guy. Just a really hot guy. Just a really hot guy who didn't think she was completely weird.
Slamming down her pop, she flashed a stubborn smile Guillermo, offering no explanation.
He was just a guy.

She reacted oddly to the question. He watched as Rose rolled her eyes. "Well, My Father is an American. French and Irish or some shit like that. White. Gringo. But my Mother, and my Uncle, are from Sao Paulo, in Brazil. She came here on a student visa or some shit, and they eloped and had little ol' me." He sensed no hostile vibe as she told her story, but more of a bored, irritated mood. Sounded a bit like him, actually. But at least she had both parents. He didn't know who his mother was and unless his father told him, he never would. Guillermo couldn't have been more pleased when she snuggled into his chest, but part of his brain was screaming protest. He was therefore upset, but slightly relieved when she let him go suddenly. The pressure in his chest was more intense now and he no longer had the excuse of the smoke in the air. But just as quickly as it had come, the pain left. He sighed and stretched a bit, jumping as Rose slammed her pop on the counter, grinning at him.

"Perdón." Rose said, seeing him jump. "So you've heard about me. What I do, what I am, blah blah blah. Qué hay de ti?" She put her elbow on her knee, and her chin in her hand, watching him intently. "No me importa lo que sobre. Sólo tenemos que dejar de hablar de mí. Es extraño." Her face looked bored, but her eyes watched him with a close interest.
She had never met someone... quite so much like her actually. In more ways then she could really understand. In the couple of hours that she had known Guillermo she could tell: 1: He was secretive, but bound to talk if properly prompted. 2. GREAT in bed. Like, Holy Fuck, good. 3. Didn't mind her games too much, even played a bit of his own. 4. Seemed to sincerely enjoy his sense of humor.
But on the same note, she reminded herself, she had only known him for a whopping two hours. Give or take. So this little, curshthingwhatever that she had was... an ultra weird form of narcissism. It was like keeping herself company, but less lonely, and more sexy. Or perhaps it was just her being a little giddyorwhatever about a friend. It's not like she had many of those. Uncle Fernando was her family, Hiro and Stefano were coworkers. Guillermo was a friend not associated with work. He was different.
"Liiiike, what's your beef with the L-bomb." She said suddenly, almost immediately after telling him that talking about herself was weird. Wait... what? Where did that question come from. No turning back now. "You say it's not your thing, but anyone who says that has a damn good reason." What a horribly personal question. She regretted it, even as it was coming out of her mouth. Still, Rose's face was unapologetic, instead filled with an almost scientific curiosity.

"Perdón. So you've heard about me. What I do, what I am, blah blah blah. Qué hay de ti? No me importa lo que sobre. Sólo tenemos que dejar de hablar de mí. Es extraño," she inquired. "Uh.." He hesitated. His past was a touchy subject. People just knew not to ask him about it. He had too much baggage and he just never felt like it was anyone else's business. At the same time, Guillermo felt he owed her, since she had been so open with him. "Liiiike, what's your beef with the L-bomb. You say it's not your thing, but anyone who says that has a damn good reason." He felt like someone had just hit him with a bucket of ice water. He turned so she couldn't see his face as he struggled to put the words into place. It was a simple question, really, but the memories that came with the answer were painful. He cleared his throat, trying to speak as calmly as he could. "When I was three, my mom left us. My father told me about the fight before she left. She said that she had never loved us and that she couldn't pretend to anymore. She had been cheating on my dad since before they were married. I never saw her again. I don't even know who she is." He stopped, the wavering in his voice getting stronger with his anger. After a few deep breaths, he continued. "I learned really young that I can't trust anyone. And I don't think real love exists."

When he turned away from her, she knew she had picked a bad subject. And what was worse, she could do absolutely nothing to stop it. "When I was three, my mom left us. My father told me about the fight before she left. She said that she had never loved us and that she couldn't pretend to anymore. She had been cheating on my dad since before they were married. I never saw her again. I don't even know who she is." Rose could hear the hurt and anger in his voice, and she lowered her eyes in a respectful silence. "I learned really young that I can't trust anyone. And I don't think real love exists."
It made her ache a bit, thinking about what he said. Sliding off the counter, silent as a cat, she came up behind him, wrapping her arms around him, and resting her head in between his shoulder blades. It was strikingly odd for Rose to opt to hug someone, especially with both arms, but she did, not saying anything. What could she say? People do, indeed, generally suck? Or that she was envious of him, as horrible as it sounded, that the worse of the parentals vanished before he could remember loving them.
In a dark tone, she spoke just above a whisper. "It could be worse, Cariño. She could have stayed." She wasn't sure if it sounded callous, or if it sounded like she was telling him from experience. More over, she didn't know which one was the one she wanted him to hear. A nice person would tell him that their was indeed love in the world, that true love conquers all obstacles. But Rose wasn't a nice person. She was honest.
The buzzer, indicating someone was down stairs for them, went off suddenly, making her jump like a startled car, but interrupting what Rose had found to be an uncomfortable intimate moment. "No debería haber sacado el tema. Lo siento." The apology was awkward as another buzz came from the door, impatiently waiting to be answered.

He stood there for what seemed like hours, lost in thought. Rose's arms came to wrap around him from behind. His icy stature began to melt. "It could be worse, Cariño. She could have stayed." He shut his eyes tightly. Everyone seemed to think that. But the thing was, he wished she would have. Because she was his mother, and she was supposed to love him and be there for him. And she decided to run off and be a child, not giving a flying fuck about him or his father. He had watched his father's heart break steadily, every day bringing him the new realization that she was never coming back. No matter what she had done, his father loved her. And Guillermo saw how weak it had made Enrique. His father was even more the fool for pining for her, rather than being angry about it. He wanted to find his mother, just so he could spit in her face and tell her how much he hated her. He'd show her the suffering she'd caused the family. A buzzer went off, and Rose jumped. He shook his head as she apologized. "No debería haber sacado el tema. Lo siento." "Está bien. Usted no lo sabía." He walked over and pressed the button that allowed the visitor to enter and walked back to the counter, finishing off his drink for something to do. He had caused quite the awkward atmosphere..

"Está bien. Usted no lo sabía." Oh God, he was being nice about it. That kind of made it worse. She would have much preferred a 'Yeah, well, you should be bitch.' He buzzed the person up, and drank his soda in a sudden gloom. Dammit, why'd she have to be such a nosy bitch?
She should do something to make this better? But what? Unbutton her shirt and let him motor boat her boobs? Some how she didn't think that would work at the moment. Get drunk? She wasn't too pleased with drinking often, but situations seemed to call for it from time to time. As a knock came at the apartment door, she began searching for a stash.
Every bachelor, especially underage ones, had one hidden away. A little cache of booze that would make things, like say stupid questions from your neighbor?, feel a whole lot better. Finding a full bottle of tequila in the freezer, she set it on the counter, as if staking down her flag on uncharted territory. What next? What next? Glasses.
She opened some cupboards, coming across some mixed matched glasses, setting them down on the counter, putting a shots worth in the them. She hummed Down in Mexico, much to her amusement, shaking her hips along with the tune, and dipping her finger in her glass, tasting the warm burn.
When all else failed, drink and forget that you failed. Of course, she didn't really try anything else, but all the same, NOT THE POINT. She flashed a hopeful smile at him, her eyes burning mischievously. "Usted juego?"

There was a knock on the door and Guillermo went to open it, finding a curly haired, pimpled teenage boy with a pizza box. He swung the door open wider, grabbing some money from his pocket and taking the pizza. He tried to hand the boy the money and noticed that the boy was gazing longingly into the apartment. He turned to see Rose bent over, looking through the fridge. Damn short shorts.. Guillermo rounded on the teen, sneering, slapping the money in his hand. "Fuck off," he growled at the suddenly terrified young guy. He slammed the door in his face and put the pizza on the counter where Rose had set up some glasses and his tequila bottle. The corners of his mouth twitched. She danced around a little, humming to herself and smiled widely at him. "Usted juego?" He smiled softly. He was definitely starting to enjoy this girl. "That depends, what exactly are we playing?"

"That depends, what exactly are we playing?" She smiled devilishly at him, her penetrating eyes flashing at him dangerously. Flippantly, she took her glass, and drank down the liquid, her eyes tearing up from the burn. Rose wasn't much of a drinker as it was, but she still manage to resist slamming down the glass before giving Guillermo a 'piece-of-cake' glance.
"The name of the game is: 'Guillermo doesn't get to know the name of the game'." She smiled at him, feeling her brain freak out from the sudden rush it just experienced. "You play to well." She explained, opening the pizza box and picking a piece of cheese off from it, setting it in her mouth. "I have to make it more difficult, or you'll get bored, cariño." She pushed his glass over to him, her eyes daring. It would be interesting, to see him drunk. She wondered if he'd loosen up, which was already an amusing scene, though it only played in her head.
Of course, this plan was ignoring the fact that her uncle would be dropping in at some point.
She poured herself another, but let it sit while she ate a bit more cheese. "So, why were you so mean to the Pizza Boy? I hope you gave him a good tip..." Yeah, like don't stare at girl's asses when a guy who could very well be her boyfriend was watching. Not that he was. But the Pizza Boy didn't know that. She smiled, chewing her food, watching him closely.

"The name of the game is: 'Guillermo doesn't get to know the name of the game'. You play to well. I have to make it more difficult, or you'll get bored, cariño." His smile was positively devilish as she swallowed her tequila, face screwed up from the scorching alcohol. Rose slid Guillermo his drink and he let the familiar drink slide down his throat. His facial expression never changed. Tequila was his friend, not his challenger, like it was for her. "So, why were you so mean to the Pizza Boy? I hope you gave him a good tip..." His eyebrow went up, his smile was still devious, but his voice hinted at the growl again. "That view of you he got was tip enough. And I'm fairly certain he learned a valuable life lesson. Don't check out the girls in other dudes' houses." He assessed her while he grabbed a piece of pizza, taking a few bites. "So, I feel that I should have asked you this sooner but.. Are you even old enough to drink? Let alone sleep with me?"

Oh, look at him all cool with his not flinching as the he drank the tequila, smirking like a smug jerkface. Well she'd show him, wouldn't she?
"That view of you he got was tip enough. And I'm fairly certain he learned a valuable life lesson. Don't check out the girls in other dudes' houses." She smiled, as he grabbed his piece of pizza, chewing thoughtfully. She liked his jealousy. She eyed the ten dollar bill on the counter that he did not use, and decided right then she would leave it there. "So, I feel that I should have asked you this sooner but.. Are you even old enough to drink? Let alone sleep with me?"
"-He asks as an afterthought." She said, laughing a little, as she narrated him. "Are you old enough to drink, let alone have a fair stock pile of tequila in your house? And, at this point, does it matter if I'm old enough to have sex with?" She inquired, chewing some more cheese, letting him stew on the question for a moment. Taking her next drink, she stiffened her face so as to not further cause him humor, though her eyes still welled up with big fat tears. "Dios, que se quema." She muttered, wiping her eyes, before looking up at him.
"Old enough to screw, not quite there yet for drinking." She answered finally, pouring more into his glass, neglecting her own for the moment. "Estoy dieciocho." Rose felt as though she needed to say that allowed, to put his mind at ease, though he didn't seem to panicked about it.
Already her head was swimming a little, being a bit of a light weight. This was due to a series of factors. She hadn't eaten much today. She didn't drink often. She was a bit of a waif. Rose felt warm, and her flushing cheeks offered physical proof of this. Smiling silkily at Guillermo, she unbuttoned the shirt she was wearing, letting it cover the what was necessary, but exposing her flat belly. "So, Guillermo, do you dance as well as you do... other things?"
Maybe there was something to that Succubus thing he had mentioned earlier.

"I'm twenty one, if you must know." He figured that might be surprising to her. "And because I don't want your uncle to be calling the cops if he thinks I'm a pedophile." "Dios, que se quema." He laughed as her eyes teared up instantly. "Hell yeah, it does!" "Old enough to screw, not quite there yet for drinking. Estoy dieciocho." She suddenly began to undo the buttons on the shirt she was wearing. He let his eyes travel down with her hands, gazing at the satiny pale skin. "So, Guillermo, do you dance as well as you do... other things?" Guillermo smiled at her. "Perhaps. ¿Qué es para ti, chica?"

"I'm twenty one, if you must know. And because I don't want your uncle to be calling the cops if he thinks I'm a pedophile."
She gave a slightly guilty grin, as her Uncle, while an intelligent and caring man, was under the impression that his beloved niece was a virgin. "No te preocupes, dudo que va a ir a esa conclusión." She answered vaguely, watching his eyes as she unbuttoned the shirt slowly.
""Perhaps. ¿Qué es para ti, chica?"" She smiled coyly, her eyes dropping a bit, biting her lip as she sauntered over to him, the smell of tequila sweet on his breathe.
"Just a curiosity..." She murmured, in an almost angelic voice, her blue eyes trailing up to his slowly. Rose leaned forward to kiss him, her default for the night, the buzzer rang again, in a moment of incredible bad luck. Her head snapped to the door, before she darted to the window, seeing her Uncle's car. "Mierda." She murmured again, though this time less sexily, as she began re-buttoning her shirt. Glancing back up at Guillermo, she spoke informatively. "You've been a perfect gentlemen all night."] It was like she was telling him what part to play on a stage or something, as she buzzed in her Uncle, and took a bite of Guillermo's pizza.
Going out into the Apartment Complex's Hallway, she waited for the longest twenty-seven seconds in the history of the world. Fernando Armero came into view, and impressive, heavily tattooed man; quickly followed by a young Asian man holding his bandaged hand, and a skinny African American with cornrows, who both smiled a hello at their coworker. Rose greeted her Uncle with a quick hug, taking the keys he was holding up. "Gracias Tio. Hey Stef, Hiro. How's your hand?"
"Completely attached." Hiro informed, smiling widely, as Stefano waved.
Rose rolled her eyes, "Idiota."
Hiro, still smiling (and rather use to Rose's insults), piped up bravely. "Hey, I might not speak spanish, but I know enough to know that you think I'm sex-"
Fernando, who did not speak English well, but understood it fine, rose his eyebrows at Hiro, who decided now might not be the time. Rose gave a smug grin, though it fell as her Uncle spotted Guillermo. "Tío Fernando, este es mi amigo Guillermo. Guillermo, este es el tío Fernando. Derecha, por lo que probablemente-"
Her Uncle interrupted her, taking Guillermo's hand in his shovel like ones. "Gracias por cuidar de mi sobrina. Me hubiera estado aquí antes, pero ..." He looked over at Stefano and Hiro, who instantly knew they were being talked about. Looking back at Guillermo, he started an interviewer like voice, much to Rose's chagrin. "Si eres Colombiano."
Oh god, was he really doing this? Right now? Right here? In a agitated voice, Rose answered for Guillermo, trying to hint to her Uncle to leave. "Mexicano."
Fernando, either not taking the hint, or not caring, continued. "¿En serio, ¿qué parte?"
"Tío Fernando, no lo lleve a casa de Hiro? Mira especie de pálido."
Fernando laughed, a deep baritone. "No la mente, que siempre esconde sus amigos de distancia. Supongo que piensa que la voy a avergonzar." Oh yeah, where could she have possibly come to that conclusion? He looked over at Rose, who smiled impatiently. "Te ves muy limpio, pensé que estaba trabajando en el bebé."
"Yo estaba. Guillermo me deja utilizar la ducha." Come on, come on, come on.
"¡Qué caballeros. Gracias."
Alright, that was enough of that. Fernando had always been an advocate for her to date, fall in love, blah blah blah. This was almost sickening, the interest he had for Guillermo, who was ONLY her friend, dammit. "Estábamos comiendo cuando el tío. Nos vemos en el trabajo mañana."
Taking the hint, he chuckled, and gave her a one arm hug and kiss on the forehead. "Está bien, está bien. Te amo."
"Te amo." She answered, her cheeks burning.
"La reunión de Niza que, Guillermo." Fernando waved at Guillermo, heading down the stairs.
"Laters, Bruja Rosa." Stefano said, waving indistinctly and following, Rose not even rising at the cute little nick name they had come up for her at the shop.
Hiro, with his cheshire like grin, gave Rose a lascivious grin. "You two have a good night..." Hiro recieved only a dead pan stare from Rose, who pinched the tip of his newly attached middle finger, causing Hiro to squeal loudly.
"Hiro, pones tu culo aquí." Hiro, though not understanding the order, did so with a very sour look at Rose, who twiddled her fingers at him sweetly.
Giving Guillermo a 'that was exhausting' smile, she re-entered his apartment, relaxing almost instantly. "Well... that was a sobering experience." She looked at Guillermo testingly, not quite sure if their party was halting due to this.... peculiar, interruption.

"Just a curiosity..." She leaned forward and he went to meet her lips when the buzzer sounded again She jumped and went to the window. "Mierda." Funny, that was what he was thinking. Rose gave him a look "You've been a perfect gentlemen all night." She was giving him his role to play. And he could definitely play this part. When her uncle was in the hall, he ventured out slightly. Holy hell, he did not expect such a tough looking man to be standing outside his home. "Tío Fernando, este es mi amigo Guillermo. Guillermo, este es el tío Fernando. Derecha, por lo que probablemente-" His hand was grasped by this large man and he found himself smiling at him. "Gracias por cuidar de mi sobrina. Me hubiera estado aquí antes, pero ... Si eres Colombiano." "Mexicano." His grin grew wider as she answered for him, obviously hating the conversation "¿En serio, ¿qué parte?" "Yo soy de Juárez, en Chihuahua," he answered quickly. "Tío Fernando, no lo lleve a casa de Hiro? Mira especie de pálido." She really wanted them to leave. "No la mente, que siempre esconde sus amigos de distancia. Supongo que piensa que la voy a avergonzar. Te ves muy limpio, pensé que estaba trabajando en el bebé." "Yo estaba. Guillermo me deja utilizar la ducha." "¡Qué caballeros. Gracias." "No hay problema. No puedo dejar que sentarse afuera y esperar, ¿verdad?" "Estábamos comiendo cuando el tío. Nos vemos en el trabajo mañana." "Está bien, está bien. Te amo." The uncle hugged her and kissed her on the forehead. She did not look pleased. "Te amo." "La reunión de Niza que, Guillermo." "Fue maravilloso conocerle, señor." The asian guy called Hiro grinned slyly "You two have a good night..." Guillermo smirked at him behind Rose. "Well... that was a sobering experience." she lamented, clearly annoyed at the interruption. He laughed quietly, shutting the door behind him and stepped forward, taking her waist in his hands and kissed her. "It was fine. Your uncle is cool."
