personality
summer is a bookworm. end of story. that's all you need to know.
okay, well, i suppose there's more. yes, you should probably know them.
she's also stubborn, protective, patient, and outspoken.
to name a few. when it comes down to it, she's a bit of a... would
firecracker be a good term?
bookworm-ish and patient as she may be, summer isn't as quiet as she looks. she'll speak up even if she has no reason to and she'll fight back a fight she may obviously be losing. summer is tough, really, she can stand up for herself. fighting and arguing may not be her cup of tea, but that doesn't mean she'll back off when told too. she may lose her patience during a debate or something and if that ever happens, she'll go from cool and snappy to screaming and furious. it takes a lot for her to get that annoyed, though. like, a LOT.
here's another thing about summer: she's protective. it's not in that annoying, older sibling way though where it's kind of suffocating. (she knew somebody who had an older brother like that and it was so frustrating). summer just feels that if she can help somebody in a tough situation, she should. mostly, it'll just be something like helping a friend in an argument. sometimes, though, she'll even take a stranger's side if she knows enough about the problem. summer is a bit of a... peacemaker, could be the right word. it's good to have her on your side.
past
growing up in the incredibly small town of caro, michigan, summer wasn't exposed to very much. everything was in walking distance and so she's become used to using her feet. she's also learned that snow is the worst part of winter and that thunderstorms are merciless. summer never really knew her mom. she passed away when summer was still very young and so she was raised by her father. maurice is an inventor though his inventions have never really gotten very far.
summer was a student at mccomb elementary. she loved the school, actually, since class sizes were small and it wasn't as insane as it could've been. she happily made her way through caro middle school before the announcement. "we're moving," her father had told her the summer before her first year of high scool. it'd taken awhile to accept this change. summer had trouble with this concept, with this idea of leaving her friends and everything she was familiar with.
new york city was different, loud and the complete and total opposite of what summer knew. frank l baum academy was... confusing. it took her a long time to figure out the halls and classrooms and teachers. as a quick learner, though, once summer knew it all, she knew it.
as soon as she hit sixteen years old, she applied at the new york public library. she also started a list of every book she's ever read. the printer paper lines her bedroom walls, book titles, authors and a rating out of five on how much she liked it. lists have always been something she's liked.
high school was much easier after she'd made friends. things made sense and it just felt less vicious. summer did well in her classes, understanding quickly. she finished assignments in a timely manner and aced most quizzes and tests. the one subject summer had trouble in was math. she didn't think one should just be able to add a number in to balance out an equation. it just shouldn't work that way. she often had others help her with the problems though this could've been frustrating for them as she argues against the rules of math.
all in all, summer's past was lovely. she's glad to have moved to new york city as it broadened her horizon and opened oh so many doors.
present
new york city was tough at first, but summer has grown to love it and everything it has to offer. she has especially grown fond of the new york public library, a second home, she calls it. most often, she spends her free time here.
summer is currently a senior in high school and is almost reluctant to be leaving. she excels in her classes, as usual, though math is still a touchy subject, as usual. she feels she's going to miss the halls of the school as well as the teachers and maybe even the horrible cafeteria food.
working part time at the library and as an intern at the last petal llc, summer is feeling ready for the world. as much as she doesn't want to leave high school, she's as prepared as she could be. more so then some of the other students, anyway.
she currently rooms with annabelle snow in dorm room 1E.

The twenty-three year old couldn't take her eyes off of the sunset. By the time she was heading into the dining hall, she'd almost missed it. The bright colors caught her eyes though and she'd turned, awestruck by the dazzling colors. The setting sun was so incredibly beautiful. Guests arriving and stepping around her made her realize that she was standing on the steps, looking rather silly.
Embarrassed, she'd hurried inside, blushing. She'd stepped into the hall and was stunned at how breathtaking it was. She felt like she shouldn't have been in such a lovely place. Her dress, a royal blue and incredibly comfortable, seemed to stand out amongst the brightness of everything else. Small, white flowers were decorations on the dress, bringing notice to the neck and waistline.
The same flower embellishments were placed throughout the skirt, gathering the fabric elegantly. The only jewelry she wore were dangling earrings, a lighter blue and sparkling in the light. Her shoes were flats and the same blue as her dress. She'd never been good at wearing heels. Her mask was simple and also the color of her dress.
Her hair, black and soft, was held up into a loose bun.
Dark locks framed her face; she'd been so busy getting dressed that she'd actually run out of time to worry about her hair. Blue eyes peeked out through the mask, still admiring the hall. She continued in, standing against the wall as she continued to admire the room. That was Charlotte for you. The wallflower.
