[/i] Clarissa could tell that Bashful wasn’t being offensive, but she hoped that whoever he was talking to realized that as well. Clarissa nudged the tray away from her, no longer hungry. This was all sort of getting to her. Seems he has a fast metabolism, at least.[/i]” Clarissa almost laughed. Were you trying to be funny? That was terrible. He scowled at her for a moment before looking back to the lion. We don’t really hunt witches. Just… well, I have yet to find her. She’s more of an evil queen.[/i] Clarissa realized the conversation had taken a turn in Bashful’s favor. It was something he could understand and answer fully instead of being speechless over not understanding what a Kansas creature was. Even if we had a team, you don’t really think they’d follow us around all the time, do you?[/i] Bashful asked, as if it were obvious. That would give us away.[/i]
Well, he is cowardly. I imagine he mustn’t be very courageous.
Clarissa realized just how distracted she was being and she was grateful that Keegan didn’t seem to mind. Clarissa had always been the type to focus on one thing at a time. It was why she did so well in school. After Bashful had showed up, she found this increasingly difficult to do. It was frustrating and her grades had slipped for it. He insisted that school didn’t matter which was just as annoying. “They are. I’d really like to go to California. Or Florida. I’ve never been to the beach, so…” Clarissa shrugged, treating it as no big deal. It wasn’t really. It was just the beach. “Well, I’ve been to Florida. We just didn’t go to the beach.” She added shortly, already regretting it. Hopefully, he wouldn’t bring that up. The last thing she wanted to talk about was the disaster of a trip that had been Disney World. Disney World was more fun that it was awful, hun. Bashful had shifted in his seat, folding one leg beneath the other and pivoting so he was facing Clarissa. It bothered her a little now, knowing somebody else could hear their conversations. When she spoke to Bashful ,it was just Bashful, and didn’t have to worry about embarrassing herself. So, she didn’t say anything and instead leaned forward a little, resting her forearms on the table top.
The kid just met you. Bashful sounded snappy and none too pleased that Keegan was asking for her number. She mentally waved him away, wanting to enjoy her heart pitter-pattering without Bashful ruining it. She smiled at Keegan. “I’m not weirded out.” She took her own cell phone from her pocket and slid it across the table to him. In a sudden act of confidence, she plucked his phone from his hands. “Amused.” She said distractedly, trying to figure his phone out. Clarissa had hardly used her own cell phone until Bashful taught her all the neat things she could use. There, that button for menu.[/i] Bashful started and she listened. He continued to guide her through it until she’d reached the new contact part. Clarissa filled in the information and saved it before holding it out for Keegan to take.
