personality The first thing you’ll notice in a conversation with Brandon is that he’s really not normal. If you ask him his name he’ll sit there for a few seconds processing the question, and another few seconds generating his reply. Brandon is clumsy and forgetful, stumbling through life trying to avoid faceplanting on the ground. His vocabulary is lackadaisical and his grammar is muddled: often his sentences will come out backwards, ie “So much time, so little to see.” He can often be found muttering to himself in words that others cannot understand. Needless to say, he has immense difficulty in school, since numbers and letters are often mixed around in his head and spit out in completely incomprehensible gibberish. The general consensus about Brandon is that he’s “not all there.”
Mental state aside, however, Brandon is a kind, friendly, charismatic kid. He enjoys shopping, chatting online, and spending time with friends, and has a knack for many different sports. He enjoys books such as Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, and has a fondness for the elder wizard character such as Dumbledore and Gandalf. He loves being outdoors, and feels trapped and claustrophobic when enclosed by four walls.
Brandon is attractively optimistic, and always attempts to find the best in every situation and every person. There is no one and nothing that he even moderately dislikes: to Brandon, even the worst thing has its benefits.
past Brandon grew up in a small, rural city just east of the Welsh border, in a quaint garden cottage with a babbling brook to the left and endless green fields to the right. He was raised by two loving, caring parents, who adored their son to death, and made it their duty to pander to his every whim. Brandon fell in love with the expanses of nature around him, and developed a close bond to the animals and surrounding vegetation.
He loves pretending and imagining that he is taking on different forms: a fish in the sea or a bird in the sky. While experiencing these illusions, he often fully believes that he is taking on said form. To this day, he is unsure as to what makes these daydreams so believable and realistic.
Upon his eighth grade graduation Brandon received a large sum of money from his grandmother, and decided to invest in a high school semester as an exchange student, to experience another culture and adapt to an independent lifestyle. After intensive review, examination, and study of options (on the part of his parents, at any rate), he selected Baum Academy in New York City.
present Brandon is so far enjoying his stay at Baum Academy, studying and interacting without obstacle. Though he is often mocked for his blatantly obsolete British accent and vocabulary, he enjoys the company of the American children, who he finds less materialistic and more talkative. He loves Central Park, the museums, and the hype and rhythm of urban life, which he finds exhilarating.
He has trouble in his classes, since facts he attempts to memorize and compute seem to get lost and muddled in his muddy mind. However, since he practically radiates optimism and gregariousness, his teachers adore him, and he is generally accepted by his peers, many of whom find his accent cute.
