The first thing to know about Flynn Fitzpatrick is that he does not get emotionally attached to anyone. Ever. Most would suspect that this is because in his secret past, some girl broke his heart—but that genuinely isn't the case. In truth, Flynn has never been in love with a girl despite his impressive track record. He doesn't believe in love and gets bored with girls much too quickly. He's not a bad friend, per se, but he doesn't get attached to groups of friends either, instead flitting around with different people constantly.
Flynn is a charmer and by extension, a manipulator. His favorite saying is that you can get more with a smile and pretty words than you can with the truth, and he lives by it. By no means a pathological liar, stretching the truth to get what he wants from someone isn't something he's never done. He spent so much time training himself to be chivalrous because he knew girls went crazy over it that it's now something he doesn't even think about. Opening doors, walking between a girl and the road, without fail paying for every date... It's all habit. Besides, he figures it's the least he can do when all he wants is to get into her pants.
The most basic component of Flynn is that he loses interest in everything so easily. A bit of an adrenalin junkie, he looks for cheap thrills, whether it's bungee jumping or stealing cars or sleeping with someone he shouldn't. He's smarter than he probably should be and has a wickedly sarcastic sense of humor.
He really doesn't care about much of anything. What Flynn really needs, and deep down yearns for, is someone that will make him care.

Preston Flynn Fitzpatrick was born on October 30th, 1988 and 11:55 PM. He was welcomed into the family by two parents and an older brother, Brighton.
The Fitzpatrick family has a long history of becoming doctors. From the moment of their births, both Brighton and Flynn were expected to grow up and be doctors. While Brighten fell easily into his expectations, Flynn never wished to go into medicine. He was certainly smart enough, but nothing about doctors interested him.
Despite the pressure from his family, Flynn had a fantastic childhood. As soon as he was old enough, he ran about New York City with his friends, getting up to all sorts of mischief. From a young age, Flynn was a ladies' man. He always had more girl friends than boys, and in high school was the official player.
After high school, he went to Colombia University. He still hadn't worked up the courage to tell his parents he had absolutely no interest in becoming a doctor. Two years into it, Flynn discovered that there is a lot of money and thrills in stealing expensive vehicles. Soon after, he dropped out of Colombia.

Flynn still hasn't told his parents or his brother about dropping out of Colombia. As far as they're concerned, he's doing fantastically and well on his way to becoming a doctor. He still keeps in touch with them and occasionally drops by to see them.
Flynn continues to make his living by stealing cars. He's got a hell of a lot of money piling up in his bank account and nothing to do with it. The thrill of doing something so illegal still hasn't worn off for him, so he's thinking of sticking with this profession for quite a while.
He still sleeps around. He has a personal cell phone, but usually doesn't bother to keep it charged. He has plenty of friends, but none he feels especially close to. He's as stoic and detached as ever.

book title Rapunzel
backstory A witch kidnapped Rapunzel, locking her in a tower sans door and stairs. Rapunzel is never allowed to cut her hair, and thus the witch gets to her by calling for Rapunzel to let down her hair through the window, which the witch then climbs up into the tower.
Rapunzel has a beautiful singing voice, and one day a prince riding through the forest hears it and becomes enchanted with her. After seeing the witch visit Rapunzel one day, he asks Rapunzel to let her hair down, which she does and they fall in love and all that.
The witch discovers this, tricks the prince into coming up, and pushes him onto thorns, blinding him. He wanders around blind until he finds Rapunzel again after hearing her voice. Her tears heal his vision and they live happily ever after.
However, Flynn is not blind, and I went the Tangled route as far as his job goes and made him a thief.
