laynie masterson So, Laynie needs someone with whom she can plot! She is a Sophomore at Baum, and she is very shy. She is also somewhat of a wimp, and she hates getting into trouble, so one will probably not find her doing something risky. Laynie is sort of a homebody, too, but if she really feels like going out, she will most likely be headed to Central Park. Oh, and Laynie loves fairytales, so while she may seem like a tiny 30-year-old shell, she actually has an enormous childlike center, meaning that if you and she are close friends, a four-year-old who dreams of being a princess will be let loose.

At the moment, Wilbur's my youngest character and he's kind of a terrifyingly hyperactive mess, but I'm sure he'd be happy to harass Laynie! Another possibility would be either Fauna, who's working as a sub at Baum and could think that Laynie is an amazingly perfect student because she's so quiet, or Mary Anne, who technically graduated but would still be trying her darnedest to join her little chastity club. Whateva' you want is a possibility

Becket: Okay, so, at first I was like, ehhhh, but then I read, or rather, skimmed, Wilbur's application and I thought it over and now I'm like, YEAH! I think Laynie and Wilbur could be friends, or friendly acquaintances, or whatever you think they could be. They both had rather unstable childhoods, so they could connect there, but not right away, because that would be no fun. But anyways, Wilbur could always harass Laynie about being a wimp, and Laynie could always be correcting Wilbur's grammar, and a fair amount of amusement will be had. Also, I like your idea about Mary Anne constantly pressuring Laynie to join her chastity club, be it an actual club or just Mary Ann and her group of conservative friends.
Monica: YES. YES. LET'S DO IT.

HEDGIE WANTS TO PLOT WITH CZESSIE!Meet Marlena Cartwright, aka Ophelia from Hamlet, and a Barrie student. Yeah, I kind of just decided to change her face claim, seeing as Hamlet is Ben Barnes... but anyways. PLOT MUST OCCUR! I think Marlena would be the type to go to an orphanage while in her teen years to read to the kids. Probably for community service hours. Maybe they could know each other from that? Mind you, she would probably have read the kids Shakespeare and things well beyond their years, so maybe Laynie was the only one who understood? She seems smart and she is a reader, after all. Though I could be wrong, and you can come up with ideas as well, if you like. I also think they would get along well because their canons are both female characters with important brothers. c: Meet Metrodora Cross, aka Katrina Van Tassel from Sleepy Hollow. She's a Baum Senior and kind of makes it her business to know like, everybody. Seriously. Since she thinks Tommy up there is ten shades of adorable, she will probably think that Tommy and Laynie would be THE MOST ADORABLE THING EVER. Metro would definitely make her opinions known, too. As in, going up to them and actually saying "OMG YOU GUYS ARE THE MOST ADORABLE THING EVER." Meet Xander Sykes, aka Mombi from The Oz Books. He's also a Baum sophmore, so they might have a few classes together. Not that he really goes to any of his classes, but hey. He would probably attempt to corrupt her somehow because of his whole "bad boys make good girls go bad" type attitude. Also, Tommy is kind of a Misfit, so. aaaaaand that's it. I have a lot of characters, but I see the most plottage happening with these three. c:

Okay, so I am intrigued by the idea of Laynie and Marlena recognizing each other from when Marlena used to read books to the kids at the orphanage. And, I was thinking that maybe Marlena could be, like, a big sister figure to Laynie, and they could complain about their brothers to each other or something.
ALSO. I can totally see antics ensuing if we have a Xander and Laynie thread. Not because they want to hang out with each other, but maybe because of a dare placed upon Xander by his friends.
