INTELLIGENT&&DILIGENT:: Jack is not intelligent in the sense that he is particularly witty or comes up with inventive and interesting ideas on his own. But he has a quick mind, and can can pick up on most things set before him. He'll never be the life of the party, but he'll be the one you're going to after the party whilst hungover for the answers to Friday's homework. If he says something will be done by a certain date, you can bet that it will be done.
GENTLE&&PATIENT:: Jack is tolerant despite his firm religious beliefs, and accepts that others have different opinions (though he does kinda think his are the right ones) than he does. He is the helpful sort, and has a charitable heart. If someone wishes to hear his beliefs, he's happy to share, and if not, is willing to keep them to himself. The Christian way, he believes, cannot be beaten into you, but must be a choice.
FIRM&&STUBBORN:: Despite Jack's quiet nature, he is not easily manipulated or converted on an idea. Mostly because he believes that any idea that he might have, he must believe in enough to stay firm on. To argue with him on a belief that you might find offensive or misguided is a foolish venture, because there is a 99% chance that he's not going to hear a word of it.

Jack is the eldest child and only son of James and Angela Solomon. He's the thirteenth James in his family, and- his family hopes dearly- will be the thirteenth Pastor. Obviously, it can be noted that Jack was raised with an incredibly firm religious upbringing. His Father, whom he reveres, is a serious minded man, with a great amount of charisma behind the podium. He leaves his congregation enthralled with his sermons. His Mother is much loved, and is very active as well. She home schooled all of her children, which entailed himself and his four sisters. Their friends were children he went to church with, and it can be understood that- due to the strict upbringing- he did not have a lot of diversity growing up.
He has always been a studious child, nurtured under his Mother's watchful eye. He wanted greatly to be an innovative thinker, but simply was not. He was a very good mimic, and could pick up on any information he studied. Hence he became a good chess player, an excellent carder player, an accomplished magician, and quite adept at historical and theological discussions by proxy of whomever he was quoting. He's quite well read on Martin Luther, for instance, and finds great comfort in the fact that there is a bible quote for nearly any situation.
He went to a regular high school for his last year, so that he could get a regular diploma. He was thought of as weird, girly, and fairly narrow minded- though he disagreed politely. True, he was not a sports player by any means. And, yes, he did take most of his lunches to the library. And he did not have a girlfriend, nor did he take to any of the advances from girls who took weird to mean interesting. He graduated with honors, and did his first year of College in Colorado Springs, where he lived with his parents still. Of course, it was always assumed that he would become a Pastor as well, and thus other options were never discussed. Even though he is not quite the charismatic fellow his Dad is, he does not wish to rock the boat on this one.

He got a scholarship to J. Barrie University, something that his parents greatly disapprove of. However, he stood his ground, quite excited to see the 'Big Apple'. While he sees many faults with New York and it's widely accepted sins, he appreciates his opportunity, and studies hard. On his free time he enjoys playing chess with old folk in Central Park, going to the library, and seeing old movies.
Being new to the city, and shy by nature, he has very few friends. Still, he enjoys talking with people, and his classes. He's an unyielding optimist, that much is certain, and sees light around every corner.
family
Father:: Pastor James Solomon: The twelfth Pastor in the Solomon family, he's a staunchly religious man. He's a firm man, who does not show love easily, but is a good. He loves his family, and is passionate about his work.
Mother:: Angela Solomon: An ideal Pastor's wife. She's active in her church, a loving mother, modest, sweet tempered, teaches Sunday School, all that jazz. Quite close with Jack.
Sister:: Hannah Eve Solomon: Younger sister, helpful around the house, smart and soft spoken. 17.
Sister:: Mary Susanna Solomon: Younger sister, pretty and flirtatious, a bit more vivacious than Hannah. 15
Sister:: Abigail Rachel: Younger sister, tomboyish and feisty, very close with Mary. 14.
Sister:: Anna Elizabeth: Youngest sister, studious and empathetic, Jack's favorite. 10.
likes
1.) Playing Cards and Chess. Any mind games really.
2.) Magic tricks. He's quite good at them.
3.) Studying and libraries. He's a bit on the shy side, and in a library being busy does not require him to socialize very much.
4.) Healthy food. He's not fond of red meat, follows a kosher and near vegetarian diet, and detests processed food and drinks.
5.) Old classic movies. He's not a fan of the flashy newer ones, as they are riddled with 'unwholesome' qualities, but does not fault others too much for watching them.
6.) True love. He's quite the romantic. Though he's also quite picky. Of course there are temptations everywhere, and he is a nineteen year old male. But he's holding out for 'the one'.
7.) Saturday Morning Cartoons and a bowl of cereal. It's one of his few indulgences, and he quite enjoys them.
8.) Children. He likes kids, and wants a large family.
9.) His religious beliefs, and the beliefs he holds to life based on them. He's pro-life, against Gay marriage, is a creationist (God made the world in seven days, and evolution is a lie), and anti-prophylactic (combined with the belief that one should have sex with only one person their entire life). At the same time, he tries not to be a bigot, and is tolerant of other peoples positions, so long as they are tolerant of his. For instance, if you are going through a bad time, he will ask you if you want to pray, and will accept a no without hurt feelings. Also, he is quite happy to be friends with people who act in ways he does not see as good, as he believes everyone is a sinner. Though part of being his friend is constant invites to church and little reminders that he is praying for you.
10.) Christian Rock. It's groovy.
dislikes
1.) How much he struggles with his code of morals. There are many beautiful women in New York, and many of them are less than shy about that beauty. He tries to distract himself, but short skirts send him praying for forgiveness for unwholesome thoughts.
2.) Being considered ignorant or square because of his religious beliefs and morals.
3.) His own shyness. He wishes dearly that he was charismatic like his Dad, but he's just not. Still, he plans to become a Pastor all the same.
4.) Proud people. A lack of modesty, he believes, says that a person is less than confident in themselves and must over compensate.
5.) People who don't tip well. It's a lack of common curtsey.
6.) Calling his parents on Sunday. He loves them dearly, but he hates how they are constantly after him about coming back to Colorado to study there. He enjoys New York.
7.) Soda and Junk food. Bad food is bad for your soul.
8.) Most modern things. Music, movies, art, etc. Mostly because of the spontaneous boners they create, as he is a bunched up guy.
9.) Spontaneous Boners. They're incredibly uncomfortable.
10.) His own failings. He's a perfectionist, and is his biggest critic.
