personality
meek & mild
Chris never speaks out or causes a fuss. He likes to keep the world as it is and be as little involved as possible. He cares but he hates confrontation and chooses to stay out of any argument. Likewise, he’s rather hard to annoy or anger. Not much bothers him that he can’t get out of. If Chris feels like he’s causing trouble, he’ll just shut down and fade out. It’s hard for him to express his feelings to people who care and nearly impossible for people who don’t. Because of this, Chris tends to be label the shy boy and otherwise a wallflower at any social event.
thoughtful & creative
If you do happen to crack Chris’ shell, you’ll find he’s constantly thinking of new ideas and drawing new doodles on the ends of paper. He’s never bought a sketchbook saying that he isn’t really good enough for the clean crispness of one. Though if a friend hands him a piece of paper and asks him to draw something, he’ll smile ever so slightly and get to work. Usually he’ll signing it with a few poetic words in his slanted, curly manuscript. Speaking in words is difficult for him but writing words seems to be easier. Chris writes like he draws gliding easily across the scene of a story and painting a vivid image in your mind. He’s known best around his friends for the little notes he sometimes writes for them.
intelligent & wise
With his childhood home being destroyed, Chris has the experience and wisdom that some people his age couldn’t even dream of. He’s not exactly happy to be the way he is but it helps him not take anything for granted. The little things his siblings and parents used to do, don’t bug him much anymore and he makes sure to remind them that he loves them. Even before he gained this wisdom, Chris was a smart boy making top grades. His parents being highly renowned people in the medical field gave them a lot of his intelligence through genetics. The rest he earned from loving the idea of learning.
kind
Chris doesn’t talk much but when he does, it’s usually for a warm-hearted reason. He understands that when a person is feeling down, spoken words are more effective. Even then, he also can be the best to know when words won’t do anything. You need a hug? Get one from Chris if you can. He seems to be the one who can make, “it will get better,” sound realistic.
past
Chris was a typical wild boy growing up as the middle child of three boys in the Strong family. His family embraced where they lived with all their heart. Jane and Robert Strong met in the heart of New Orleans the day after Mardi Gras. They found they were going to the same university together to study Medical Science. It didn’t take them long to fall in love and marry. After they graduated together from medical school, Jane and Robert decided to move back home and open a family doctor’s office. It was something traditional and sweet that the locals loved. There they moved into a Louisiana home and raised their sons. Or at least that’s what they had hoped for.
As fate would have it, Hurricane Katrina blew through and destroyed their office and home in one day. It was a devastating hit to the Strong family. They were homeless but still alive. Their only loss was the family dog that was never found. Something about the whole event just took the life out of the once warm and cheerful Strongs. It seemed to effect Chris the most. He was young and impressionable yet old enough to understand what was happening around him. His father and mother stayed as long as they could to help out leaving their sons to experience all the trauma that the hurricane had caused. Chris soon became silent and recluse, usually found standing in the corner of the refuge with an old donated walkmen playing in his ears. He barely remembers his last days in Louisiana but his parents found that to be a good thing.
About a year after the storms, his parents found jobs in New York City. They moved into a new apartment and quickly began trying to rebuild their lives. Times were tough but soon everyone seemed to get better and back to what they used to be. Except for Christopher. He seemed to fade away not wanting to be the social butterfly he used to or even talk at all. His parents brushed it off as a phase and let it go.
present
Christopher graduated in the Top 5 of his class and got a full ride to Barrie University. He wasn’t exactly sure what he wanted to major in but his parents assured him that he didn’t have to know just yet. Chris like the independence of dorm life and the people in it. They seemed to except him better than the high schoolers who just found him odd. Chris actually tried to make friends but found he was perfectly dreadful at it. (Or so he thought)
He did manage to keep a few friends and they all seemed to like him. He never found himself rude or mean so it made sense. Certain friends he liked being around more than others because they were a lot like him. He cared for the other friends but he really didn’t understand their motives. Being hyper and rowdy never seemed to interest Chris. At times, the hyper randomness of it set him on edge. He was even tempted to say something but managed to get away just before the words left his lips.
