[/justify]Vivienne had apologized to Delilah. While it sure lifted a weight off of her shoulders, it didn't fully relieve her guilt and regret. Because despite being the one she cared about most, Delilah Punzel wasn't the only person she needed to apologize to. The other person was the one she probably wronged the most, but she didn't see it that way, reason unknown. The other person suffered the most out of any of them after the fact and she blamed herself for it, too, but she could only mull over one thing at a time.
Which is why she had waited a while after spotting him in Jacobs Apartment complex with sunglasses and a seeing eye dog before approaching him.
Vivienne had heard he was blinded in an accident the day he called off the marriage, but couldn't bear to bring herself to see him after Delilah left. She could only think of how she had broken the trio apart, though wasn't it kind of already? When Delilah and Luke got together, she was sort of a third-wheel, though she never felt like that and in no way shape or form was that the reason for any of this.
Though, why should she apologize to Luke? While how she had taken action was wrong, the reason was justifiable enough. If Luke was a cheater, then he shouldn't have been with Delilah. The problem with that, though, was simple. She wasn't sure that it had been Luke in that bar all over that girl anymore. It was a few years ago, after all, and she had only gotten a side view, but she had been so sure at the time...
This was ridiculous, though. If Delilah trusted him (her cousin had called and told her that she had found Luke in a very short voicemail, but a voicemail all the same. Things were starting to get better, and if the wedding was going to be back on after all these years, Vivienne had to make things write between her and Luke, too. Maybe she wouldn't completely trust him for now, but she still had to apologize.
Honestly, Vivienne had snuck past him and out of Jacobs a couple of times, saying nothing and avoiding his dog as much as possible, in case there was some way it could comminicate with him. This had gone on for the whole week and a half Vivienne had been in the city, the day after Evan had helped her move in.
But today was going to be different. Today, she was going to meet him eye to- face to face. Yes. And she wasn't going to break down like she did with Delilah, because crying wasn't going to help her, in this case.
There he was, in the lobby, on his way to the stairs that she was descending. This was it, what she had to do.
The dog found her first, just past the foot of the stairs so she wasn't in the way of anyone but Luke and his dog. "Luke, it's Vivienne, we need to talk." The words came out sounding much worse than she intended, and she bit her lip and cursed herself. It was maybe because Luke was a man, and she couldn't trust men after her father, so her therapist had said. But she needed to lighten up and be softer so she would sound sincere. "Uh, are you busy?" she tried her best to sound softer but in no way was it cheerful. With a sigh, she reached out to maybe pet the dog, needed something to do since avoiding his eyes was a bit of a redundancy, but the dog growled a little at her and avoided her touch. She understood it, and didn't try to pet it again. If she were the dog, she wouldn't trust her either. Vivienne hardly trusted herself sometimes.
