personality
SPUNKY;;
Charlie has both boundless energy and boundless enthusiasm for life. Ever since she was little, Charlie was been a little spitfire. She has a quick tongue and isn't afraid to tackle someone. While some people mistake her spunk for snooty sass, others close to her know that Charlie is simply over-the-top and never likes to slow down. Charlie has a few quirks about her; her shoes tie at the toe-end (as she refers to it), Charlie loves glitter on practically everything and...Charlie believes in the spirit of Santa Claus. If Blitzen is real and incarnated in her, then Santa must be in someone else, right?
REBELLIOUS;;
Lately, Charlie's been acting a bit rebellious. No one can quite put a finger on the reason why, but Charlie has changed since coming to New York. Sure, she loves the parentals and is still cheering, but Charlie has snuck out, dip-dyed her hair, got her belly button pierced and has snuck in to several music festivals. While still holding on to her good virtues, Charlie is managing to explore the bad-influence side of herself.
DEPRESSED;;
Charlie knows she's not Elle and Danny's biological daughter. For one, she knows that the tumor her mom had in her uterus left her unable to even have a monthly cycle, let alone a baby. And a blond, fair kid coming from two naturally tan brunettes? Even though she's 18, Charlie isn't allowed to know her biological parents. This has created many questions for Charlie. Once and a while she'll suffer from spells of depression because not knowing her biological parents has made Charlie question her identity. These spells, which only last about 36 hours, are the only thing to leave Charlie silent and slow her down. While she hasn't felt the need to carry out on it, Charlie has had brief thoughts of self-harm.
past
Parents are supposed to be your rocks. They should love you and care for you and never judge you. Charlie's parents were never like that. Born Elizabeth Anne Hall, Charlie was thrust into the world of Christian extremeists. No, not like the ones who blow up Mosques, but they were extreme. Mary and Luke were very much orthodox and followed the Bible to the T. They never drank except for the wine at Church (and to them, it wasn't alochol but the blood of the Savior), spat on filthy prostitues and were some of the most judgemental people you'll ever meet. There was nothing but pure certainity in their hearts when they would tell someone they were going to Hell. "Elizabeth" was a planned accident. Mary and Luke, though married, truly believed that sex was dirty and sinful. One day, Mary told Luke that God wished for them to have a child to follow Him and save all the sinners. Vowing that it would be a one time thing, Mary and Luke engaged in intercourse. Mary was happily pregnant, for she was to have a child that would proliferate the iron fist of the Lord.
Charlie's first few months were strange, but they were okay. Then when she began to teethe all Hell broke lose (pardon the pun). Unlike most babies, Charlie's first two teeth were her canines. Mary and Luke panicked, claiming that it was a mark of Satan. Along with her teeth, Mary and Luje began to crave each other sexually. After making love three times, Mary went into a rage. They were sinners and would be going to the fiery depths of Hell all because of that Satanical child. Mary and Luke tried to drown baby Charlie in the bathtub that night. Blitzen then awoke and was able to alert the neighbors to the sounds of a struggle. The neighbors, Elle and Danny Blitzer, came rushing in to pull Mary and Luke away. They were found guilty of attempted murder and child abuse and are still rotting away in prison. Elle and Danny, unable to have their own children, adopted the baby and changed her name to Charlie Blitzer to protect her from her past.
Charlie had a happy childhood. The one big negative was that she always refused to get in a bathtub and would be bathed in the shower with her mom. Ever since she was small, Charlie was emersed in Alabama football culture, where her dad was the head coach. In kindergarten, Charlie's dad would always pick her up and take her to football practice where she would stand cross-armed and yell at all the players to "do work!" and, her favorite, "I can frow better then yew sissies!". Elle, the cheerleading coach, would always pick Charlie up a little early (cheerleading practice was over before football) and take the spunky kid to gymnastics. Elle thought that her husband could teach little Charlie the ins-and-outs of football all he wanted, but their little girl would be a cheerleader. This continued on till Charlie turned fourteen. She went to cheerleading practice, but Danny stopped letting her come to football practice. He said his players didn't need the distraction.
present
Right before Charlie started high school, Danny was offered the head coach position of the New York Giants. It was hard to leave Alabama, but the Blitzers couldn't resist the large pay raise. Charlie said goodbye to all her friends and the Alabama football team, her extended family, for life in stuffy New York City. Elle got offered the head coaching position of the Baum cheer squad, but don't think she goes easy on Charlie.
It's weird not being surronded by southern college football culture anymore, but Charlie doesn't hate New York. She enjoys being part of the cheer squad at Baum and is even the manager for the football team (she'd rather be playing, but getting to admonish the quarterback for his "jank" throw is just as good). Blitzen likes to talk to Charlie every once and a while and they're pretty good friends. She's hoping to find her other reindeer buddies and maybe even Santa, but it's not a huge priority.
