name Milo Lacoste
nickname None
age 22
gender Male
grade None
hometown Newark, New Jersey
sexuality Bisexual
personification The Magic Carpet from Aladdin
...appearance*
hair color
Milo’s hair falls over his forehead in a dark, tussled mess. Though it rarely looks neat he always ensures that it is clean.
eye color
Milo has dark brown eyes that always seem sleepy and worn, as though they have already seen too much and are tired of looking.
build
His skin is pale and he is little on the thin side, giving him the look of someone who didn't get quite enough to eat when they were young. There is a tough, sinewy sort of strength stowed in his skinny arms, but he cannot be counted on to start lifting buses any time soon. He is long-legged and looks to be a good runner. He always seems to be on his toes, visibly alert to the world around him and aware of the dangers in it.
height
Milo is of an average height for someone his age, but his poor posture also often gives the illusion that he is smaller than he actually is.
clothing style
Milo seems content to wear whatever he can find. Price comes far before fashion for him and most of his wardrobe belonged to someone else before it came into his hands. His clothes are always very clean, though sometimes do not match and seem a little disorganized.
distinctive traits
Milo is nothing exciting to look at, with plain features and a forgettable face. He is the true epitome of average and does not simply get lost in crowds; he drowns in them. There is a generally a friendly, approachable expression on his face, and he does not appear very threatening even after a close examination.
...personal*
personality
On the surface Milo appears fairly uncomplicated. He dislikes talking about where he is from and what he likes and generally keeps to himself. He is generally upbeat and smiling, and appropriately sad when the time comes. He doesn't seem to believe in doing extreme, unexpected things and seems content to live a quiet life doing whatever odd jobs come his way. Keeping uninvolved with big events are, for the most part, his specialty. He dislikes any sort of action or excitement and is a bit of a coward. Milo finds solace in his boring, run of the mill lifestyle and finds those who seek adventure reckless and hazardous to befriend.
Milo is a little faint hearted; easily frightened and widely preferring flight to fight. Though he is a good person at his core he will do selfish or even cruel things to preserve his own life. He is certainly not amoral, but it is very rare he will put a complete stranger's safety above his own. At the same time once he has become attached to someone he will risk much to protect them. He has an incredible sense of loyalty and it is very difficult to turn him against those he favors.
Milo is very subservient is will usually not stand up for himself or what he wants. He likes being helpful and feeling wanted and thus is not hard to take advantage of. He tends to let people walk all over him, and while he doesn’t exactly appreciate it, he is too passive to speak up when it bothers him.
Having lived in less than fabulous conditions for a large portion of his life, Milo is proud of how he has managed to care for himself thus far. He is also a little obsessive about having proper hygiene. He is good at cooking, can sew well enough to make minor alterations in clothing, and is adept enough at improvisation to make his way through most situations he finds himself in. He is not very clever, but his experiences and compilation of knowledge gleaned from them is more than enough to make up for it.
Milo is a little farsighted and needs to wear glasses to read. He can tend to be fussy about small, petty things and becomes very anxious when things aren't quite going his way. He enjoys music and practices the guitar in his spare time, though he isn't very good at it. A bit of an agoraphobic, Milo feels most at ease indoors or in places with lots of other people around. However, despite his love of company he does not warm up to people easily. He is shy around new acquaintances and a little on the quiet side. Yet when he opens up to a person he has a mischievous side, a lover of practical jokes and silly puns.
Milo has never had a real relationship in his life and is prone to one-night stands. He is easily taken advantage of by either sex. Milo has always had a singular interest in the idea of falling in love, but has experienced so little love in his life that he easily misinterprets lust in its place. Becoming physically close to Milo by showing a few advances is very simple, but becoming emotionally close is something he has yet to experience.
past
Milo grew up near the Ironbound section of Newark in New Jersey. He was the fourth of five children. His father owned a small carpet store and his mother spent most of her time at home looking after her children, though she devoted much of her time to volunteer work when they got older and moved out. While Milo’s father was not a bad salesman, business was not always good and he grew up fairly poor. If anything this gave him a greater appreciation for what he has now and he has developed an incredible work ethic since.
As a student Milo was nothing special, which was unusual compared to his three older siblings, who all excelled academically. While he was an average student, because of his poor performance in comparison to his siblings his parents assumed there was something wrong with him and often implored the school to place him in special education classes. Though the administration never obliged, his parents’ wishes did not do much for his self esteem. He got along best with his younger sister, who had similarly lackluster grades. She was brilliant but incredibly lazy, something only Milo seemed unbothered by.
After graduating he attempted going to college for a year but quickly dropped out, finding it wasn’t for him. He worked for his father for a small time but being around his disappointed family was making him miserable and he eventually moved to New York to find his own way in the world.
present
Milo lives in a small apartment with only a pet budgie for company. It does not have much furniture, but it always impeccably clean. Milo is currently employed as a taxicab driver and spends most of his days working. He dislikes his apartment and when off duty he prefers spending his time walking around the city, learning faster, more efficient routes for the next time he goes out.
His younger sister lives with him on and off. She will show up at his doorstep with no place to go and he will take her in without asking for an explanation. Eventually she will go away again without word. Milo isn’t sure where she lives or what she does while she is gone, but having been hassled by dissatisfied relatives for his entire life he knows it is best to let it be and support her when he can.
family
Milo’s father and mother still live in his home town. His father works as a carpet salesman and while his mother likes to keep herself busy with various volunteer jobs, she mostly stays at home. He has four siblings, three sisters and a brother. Two of his sisters and his brother are his elders and all of them pursued degrees in higher education. It is common knowledge in the family that Milo hasn’t really lived up to his parents’ expectations in comparison to his siblings. His younger sister is a higher school drop out that also lives in the city, though he only sees her occasionally and often does not know what she is up to. If his parents call, which is rare, it is usually just to ask about her.

book title
One Thousand and One Nights
backstory
In the actual story of Aladdin from the book of One Thousand and One Nights there isn’t a carpet. I can’t remember it very well but I’m pretty sure he has a magic ring or something like that. The carpet is from the Disney adaptation of it. Aladdin finds the carpet in a magic cave. It saves his life when the cave begins to collapse and is incredibly loyal and helpful to him throughout the story for no discernable reason.

I wasn’t too sure what to put for this, so I used a sort of introductory post I used once for a vampire character =) If this wasn’t what you were looking for let me know, I can write something else.
Casey did not mind admitting it; he was nobody special. This was not really a bad thing, in his opinion. Not everyone needed to be important. If everyone was the hero of the story, he reasoned, there would be nobody for said hero to run around rescuing all of the time.
There had to be someone in the backdrop, taking care of the laundry, sweeping floors, and bagging groceries. Of course, no one ever dreams of bagging groceries when they grow up, but Casey was convinced early on that he was not destined for greatness, and was quite content to remain exactly what so many others loathed; ordinary.
Unfortunately for Casey, fate rarely cares for what people want, and thus he didn’t stay ordinary at all. That is, unless you count having a strange craving to bite people’s necks and a fatal allergy to garlic as common. Poor Casey prided himself on his normality, and it had been stolen away from him by one of the very bloodsuckers he had become. A tragic story, to be sure!
He had been, on the whole, rather good at being normal. Being a monster of the night, however, was something Casey was entirely unprepared for. He didn’t like wearing black. The sight of blood made him feel queasy. He couldn’t even manage a Bella Lugosi Dracula accent though he did try, once, when he thought no one was looking.
He had been pretty unexciting as a human, which was alright by society’s standards, but as a vampire that just would not do. He was supposed to be *mysterious*, though Casey was about as mysterious as a dead ferret. In general, he hardly even looked the part. He was pale, though no more than he was when he was alive, with a tussled mop of dark hair falling over a pair of cold brown eyes. These he rubbed wearily as he wandered down the street, hunched over against the cold. He supposed as a vampire he ought to like things like chilly days, but he found them just as terrible as when he was alive.
