Genevive sat in the dining hall, disgusted. Then again, most everything disgusted her... besides her perfect self, of course. She couldn't stand the filth of the dining hall, the noise of the annoying students chatting away with thier stupid little friends, and she couldn't stand the gross food. She was used to gourmet, not burned hot dogs smuthered with 2 cent mustard. She almost puked... but then again, she was a proper lady. Proper ladies like her don't puke.
Then again, there were always certain "emergencies"... And she figured this just might be one of them. As she contemplated the possiblilty, she suddenly felt something she'd never before felt... alone. She was the only one who seemed to not be either partnered up gossiping. That shocked her. She had never, ever felt alone... until now. For the first time, she actually wished someone, even an idiot, would come and talk to her.

Tyler breathed deeply, standing in line for lunch. He was safe. He was in school. No one was going to attack him. Everything was fine. Right now he was safe, under the watchful eyes of the lunch ladies. All he had to do was keep his head down and keep moving.
Oh god, but what about when he got out of the line? Then he would be thrust into the uncertainty that always faced him in the dining hall. What if he had nowhere to sit? What if people made fun of him? Oh god, he didn't want to get made fun of. But even if he didn't, what if he had to sit next to some crazy person? Or a bully? Or someone just generally mean?
He couldn't think about that. he just needed to get his food and then see what happened, otherwise he would go crazy with the possibilities. He just needed to get his food and then sit down at the first table he saw. Preferably the first empty table he saw, so he didn't have to worry that the person sitting with him was a terrorist, but if they were all full then he'd just go with the one with the least people.
He grabbed the first plate of food he saw, not bothering to even see what it was and then walked briskly, but not so fast as to arouse attention, out of the kitchen line.
He browsed through the tables, trying to find that hallowed empty table, devoid of any other people to terrify him. It should have been simple! Didn't these people sitting alone have friends? They should be sitting with THEM instead of taking up a table that would allow Tyler to eat in solitude!
Finally, accepting the fact that all tables had at least one member, Tyler set his trey down quietly across from some girl. He was pretty sure that he had seen her in the halls, and she may have been in a class or two of his, but for the most part he was having trouble just remembering her name.
Well, at least she hadn't done anything to put her on his list of people to avoid at all costs. The he would have definitely remembered her name.
" Erm...hello." He said quietly as he poked at the food with a fork.

" Erm...hello."
God, this kid was pathetic. The tiny, afraid voice, the nerve to approch her... and did he KNOW he had put mayo on his pickle... and was that MUSTARD in his soda? Any other day, she would have internally destroyed him with insults. But today was a very special day. A day where she wished nothing but to be with someone... anyone. Besides... he WAS kind of cute... And she didn't want to scare away a scardey cat.
"Hi... have I seen you before? You look kind of familiar. And... I wouldn't eat that if I were you... or drink it. Did you MEAN to put mayo on your pickles, and mustard in your soda...? If you did, I'll respect your choices, but I felt the need to warn you, just in case..." Genevive was shocked at herself. She was actually being... nice! Any other day, she would have pleasured to watch someone drink that, and gag. It was what she lived for... other's pain. But not today... today she was someone very different. "I'm Genevive... but you can call me Genny, or Gen." What she REALLY meant was, her birth name was Genevive but if he called her that she would beat him to a pulp. "What's your name?"
