personality
Julianne is probably one of the kindest young women you will ever meet. Although she’s not much of a talker, she’s the type who’ll flash anyone a friendly smile. She has a very shy type of disposition about her. She’s the kind of person who does better at listening to people, rather than giving advice. She definitely tries to look on the positive side of things, rather than dwelling on the negative, which isn’t always easy. She’s not the spontaneous type either, or the happy-go-lucky sort. She’s generally a quiet, gentle, nice young woman.
Julianne is rarely angered; it’s more that she ends up getting hurt feelings. Violence doesn’t sit well with her and she’s often the type who will walk away from a fight. She doesn’t like to yell and instead of arguing, Julianne would simply walk away and find something constructive to do. Although she does try to stick up for her beliefs, Julianne can be a bit of a push-over. She’s willing to follow orders without question or complaint. She’s also the type who’s a bit of a perfectionist. She gets frustrated often if things don’t go right the first time.
Julianne is not the person who openly shares her feelings with just anyone. She is very careful about who she tells things too, afraid that they’ll turn on her and reveal her deepest and darkest secrets. She doesn’t particularly like talking about subjects that upset her either, which adds to the fact that she suppresses her feelings most of the time. She rarely cries either, preferring to hold back the tears and simply forget things ever happened. However, forgetting it never happened is easier said than done and although she may have a smile on her face, Julianne is really hurting. Don’t take offence if this girl doesn’t open up to you on your first meeting, she doesn’t even share her true feelings with her parents.
past
Rosewood Ranch. Even though she’s miles from what she remembers as home, her family’s piece of land still remains the closest thing to her mind. Julianne Amelia Budd was born on a crisp July morning to Samuel and Clarissa Budd. From the start, Julianne was outside learning the ways of carrying for their family’s precious Quarter Horses. That was how they made their money, by raising horses on a stretch of land that had been in their family for generations. As a young girl, Julianne learned how to tack up, ride, train, and many other things that involved her family’s pride. The little ranch, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina, seemed the perfect place.
Attending school was always a hard thing for Julianne, especially the part where she had to make friends. Rosewood was slightly secluded from most of the others, so she had difficulty seeing her classmates outside of the classroom. Classes like English, Science, and History came easy to her, but Julianne never did care for the Gym, Math, and Foreign Language classes she’d been forced to take. Of course, nothing compared to the passion she felt for animals. Things changed just outside of high school for this southern bell.
Julianne had never really known where she wanted to attend college. Luckily, she didn’t have to make too hard of a decision. While the homesickness can be a problem, New York and college do a heck of a job keeping her from missing her family and the ranch too much. Julianne had loved music and had learned the piano as a young girl. Barrie University turned out to be just the place she wanted to go, to pursue music, apart from returning home one day to take over Rosewood, of course.
present
Currently, Julianne is attending Barrie University, trying to pursue a carrier in music. While she loves playing the piano and learning as much and seeing as much as she can in New York, Julianne still longs to go home. She has been enrolled in as many music classes as possible and is still deciding on exactly what she wants to do in the musical field.

rp sample The room was loud with chatter, groups of elegantly dressed young men and women stood together, laughing and enjoying the party. Others twirled around on the dance floor in the center of the room, easily following the sound of the music that played softly in the background. The lights that clung to the walls were perfectly lit, allowing visual aid, but not so much so where it would be as if the sun was inside the room. There were tables of food and drinks, other tables were bare and awaited to be sat at. Chandelier's hung from the ceiling above the dance floor, dimly lighting the dancers' paths.
And yet, there was one man who chose to remain alone. He was standing near the table with desserts upon desserts piled on top. He held a glass of wine in one hand, but he hadn't touched it in a while. He would never understand why he had decided to attend this annual party that the Ford's held. He wasn't much for dancing or conversing with others, and large crowds made him nervous. He preferred to be outside, enjoying the beautiful summer night. He knew that leaving now would be rude, he'd showed up, and he knew the Ford's would expect him to stay, at least until some of their guests started to leave.
The end of the party was far from their minds. He could tell that they enjoyed coming here, to the Ford's grand plantation. Who wouldn't enjoy a taste of being wealthy for one night? The only person he could think of was himself, Charles Darling. He was perfectly fine with living in the tiny home he'd built, with the small barn out back, and a tiny garden to keep him fed. Although it would be nice to be guaranteed a full belly for winter, Charles didn't know what he'd do if he was as rich as the Ford's. He sighed, lifting the wine glass to his lips, and that's when he saw her.
It seemed for him, that everything began to slow down until it was just the two of them, standing alone in the giant room. He lowered his glass, eyes swallowing her up as if she were some precious piece of jewelry. He'd seen her before, when he road into Charleston to visit his mother. Charles frowned, he'd had the pleasure of meeting her once before as well, but he couldn't remember her name. He could remember, however, thinking that she was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. With curls the color of gold, skin as white as snow, and eyes that put even the most valuable sapphire to shame. As she walked into the room, her arm entwined in the older man's next to her, that's when he placed her name.
Madelyn. Madelyn Owens.
