personality It's not often that Matthew loses his composure or outwardly displays a strong emotion. He prefers to keep himself calm and logical, so that he may exercise his judgment in a strictly neutral manner and not be predisposed to bias. This trait also manifests in that it makes him aloof during interactions and cold when expressing his disapproval. It has a distancing effect on most individuals; he is not known to make friends overnight nor bestow his respect easily. His smiles are infrequent and his laughter still rarer, as he places importance on seriousness and professionalism. When he does indulge in humor, his use of it is dry and understated. But despite his usual outward demeanor, he is capable of a wide spectrum of emotions and deep attachment - he is just unlikely to show it on a day to day basis.

Part of his reservation comes directly from his firm belief in honesty. He thinks it insincere, deceptive, and unnecessary to flatter someone falsely, or go soft on anyone for the benefit of a good relationship. If something strikes him as ridiculous, he will outline his judgment clearly, whether or not her opinion is politely framed. Similarly, he will not go the lengths to act friendly to someone who's yet a friend, or show respect toward someone who's yet to earn it. A compliment from Matthew is as sincere as it is rare.

Accordingly, he is a stern guardian and does not mince words. Honesty is part of it, and so is a preference for order and organization. A lax, casual demeanor is foreign to him, as are events without clear purpose and direction. After all, his intent is not to befriend the anyone but merely just to keep them safe; an efficient use of time can only work to that purpose. Although he carries high expectations, he is also practical, and so his requests that those he has to watch out after stay close and don't wander off, are difficult but certainly manageable. As a diligent student in his own day, he feels that any individual is capable of applying themself, and he has very little patience for those who don't.

He holds personal integrity to be a matter of great importance. Therefore, while he can be acerbic in her comments and unsympathetic to rule-breakers, he does so fairly. That is, he won't be biased because of status, secondhand rumors concerning the individual, or otherwise. He upholds tradition and rules not out of cruelty or personal vindictiveness, but out of a sincere faith in their importance. His outspokenness is also not only confined to times when he speaks to those under his dominion; he will uphold his beliefs regardless of the advantage in it. And while it takes a good length of time to earn his respect, his loyalty once obtained is difficult to lose.

past As far as he could tell you, Matthew lived a perfectly normal life. He was born on a cold winter day in Seattle on February 12th, to Scott and Shara Walker, making him the oldest of three siblings. Scott was a green beret, and so the Walker children grew up to know that respect was everything, and that there was no room for tom foolery or disobedience. His dad was strict, and all for 'tough love', and his mom fussed over him, smothering him with affection.

At a young age he learned there was a sort of pride to be taken in having your head held high, or sweeping through a party in expensive and stiff suits and that manners meant everything. He was pampered by his mother as often as he was lectured by his father, so things balanced out in the end. And for all his father's strictness and tough love, he had his mother ad siblings to dote on him and to cuddle, giggle, and play with him, so he never felt lacking
present Wanting to follow in his father's foot steps to become someone he thought to be honorable, Matthew graduated from high school and college with top notch grades. He was then recruited as a CIA agent meant to 'safeguard' the highest politicians in the States and started up his training. The training proved to be difficult but given his background, Matthew had the skills and knowledge to pass as top agent.

After playing bodyguard for a few senators and congressmen, Matthew landed a job watching over Kennedy Washington, the daughter of a well known diplomat while she attends Baum Academy. He would like to think that there's nothing out there that he can't handle but Kennedy's wayward behavior is drawing up his last nerve. He remains loyal to his job however and preforms his duties with pride.

other notes Fifth degree black belt, and though he has a careful eye, his charges seem to be able to fool him every now and again and manages to escape his sight for a short amount of time. He always catches up with them in the end though.

backstory A Zazu is a feisty Red-billed Hornbill who acts as majordomo to Mufasa. He is first seen in the film during the opening sequence in which Simba is presented. He later confronts Scar and is almost eaten by him. When Simba has grown into a cub, Zazu is often ridiculed by him, being the target in Simba's pouncing lessons. He is ordered to watch over the cubs by Sarabi when Simba claims he wants to go to the waterhole with Nala. In fact, Simba had been lured by Scar to go to the elephant graveyard, and after the song "I Just Can't Wait to Be King", Simba and Nala successfully lose Zazu and go to the graveyard. Zazu later catches up with them, but they encounter the hyenas Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, and the hornbill is put into the hyenas' "birdie boiler" geyser which rockets him up to the sky. Zazu flies quickly to get Mufasa and they race to the graveyard, just in time to save the cubs from the hyenas. During the wildebeest stampede engineered by Scar to kill Mufasa and Simba, it is Zazu who leads Mufasa to Simba. He later intends to go back for help, but is struck by Scar into a wall and rendered unconscious.

After Simba runs away, Zazu is hardly seen again. He briefly appears in a scene during Scar's kingship of the Pride Lands. Scar has imprisoned him and never listens to his advice, using him only for entertainment purposes, and even tells the hyenas that they are welcome to eat him. Later on, when Simba and his friends battle Scar and the hyenas, Zazu pleads Timon to let him out of the ribcage he is imprisoned in, but Timon goes inside the ribcage instead as he is pursued by the hyenas. Pumbaa comes to the rescue and chases away the hyenas after Banzai accidentally insults him. Zazu is freed along with Timon, and he joins the battle. Later, Zazu is seen at Simba's ascension to the throne and during the presentation of Simba and Nala's newborn cub.
