personality Sam is one intense little creature, so small that she seems only able to contain one emotion at a time. Everything she does is all-or-nothing. She is a risk-takers who has a lot of physical courage. But being a creature of extremes weighs on her nerves a great deal, and she often is sick due to stress induced things; though she has not been seriously sick since she was a New Born. She is a little anal retentive, and though she is poor and her home is in the Lost Boys Housing, her house is kept meticulously clean by her.
Though she can be mean spirited, she naturally has a good heart. Unfortunately she seems magnetically linked to people who make bad decisions, and since she craves acceptance she allows them to make decisions for her. Towards those she loves, she'll give everything for, and those she hates she will do anything in her power to see them all.
She is a creature of great extremes.
past Once upon a time, high school sweethearts Rory Daniels and James Hamilton decided they would completely ignore the advice their parents gave them, and got hitched right out of high school. Within a month Rory was pregnant, and they were happy.
Unfortunately Rory was frail, and her body was not made to carry a child. But still she tried, and tried, and tried. All the trying in the world could not help her, and she gave birth three months too early. Samantha Lee Hamilton was born 4 lbs 2 oz. The doctors said she was not likely to live, being she was a sickly little thing. But she didn't, and they were happy.
Sam was tiny, there was no doubting that. Her parents called her a miracle, and it inflated Sam's ego quite a bit. She was her Father's Pee-Wee, and her Mother's Samantha. The parents were protective over their wily daughter, but they were happy. Until Sam turned eleven. Sam's Father, who worked at the local Zoo in the aquarium, was driving home from work when a cat darted into the middle of the road. He swerved, missed the cat, and found a tree instead. He died, and Sam and Rory were no longer happy.
Rory tried to make do, but she was lonely and tried to refill the void with other men. This incited anger in her daughter, at the lack of a mourning period seeing it as disrespect to her Father. She rebelled, sneaking out, trying drugs, having sex. It caused a great deal of problems between Mother and Daughter.
present Rory met a man, named John Sullivan, who promised a stable life in New York City with Rory working at his hotel. Without much thought, Rory took her daughter out of her home for 17 years and brought her to America. Unfortunately Mr. Sullivan was married, to Anna Sullivan, and Rory and Sam's 'stable' apartment was a loft in Lost Boys Housing. He comes by often, usually between midnight and four am. Sometimes at his lunch breaks.
Sam tries to keep her distance from her Mother, and wonders if it will be hard to make friends in this new place.

Well, life in general sucked. But especially air planes.
Wedged in between the wall of the metal tube of death, and a fat bastard with a eerie wheeze, Sam stared miserably out the window. Good bye New Zealand. Good bye home. Good bye happiness. Good bye Daddy. And for what? America? A Yankee mother met only a month ago. What was going to happen is what always happened. Mom would become enamored with a fella, who seemed perfect. Kind, generous, loving. He would do all the right things. And then, the same thing would happen. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Jackass! He'd drink, or do drugs, or hit; sometimes they'd be treated to a three-win whammy.
Watch, just watch, this one would be the same, and Mother would accept his apologies and make excuses; and when he'd finally leave her she'd lay in bed and refuse to eat or shower. And it would be Sam to pick up the pieces.
