Okay, so I'm finally using the diary Momma and Daddy gave me! So, yeah, now I'm going to write about the things that freak me out most about NYC.
I see more people walking to school in fifteen minutes than live in my ENTIRE TOWN. It's just so shocking, so mind-boggling how many people there are in this small space. I guess this is what Momma would call a culture-shock.
How do these people move so quickly? They run everywhere. I swear to all goodness that I feel like I'm in a hill of ants. There's millions of us and they're swarming around, rushing everywhere. To tell the truth, it is creepy how New Yorkers can walk right past somebody in trouble, someone who needs help, as though they don't see or just don't care. New Yorkers are just so blind. I just hope I'm never in need of assistance in this childish, selfish, 'advanced' city.
So that's about it. Jeanette

Dear Mom and Dad, As much as I love Georgia and miss you guys, the school year ended just as I was settling in and making friends, so i've made the decision to stay in the City for the summer. One of it new friends, Mallory, has a house in New York and doesn't mind letting me stay there. She was a senior this past year, so she'll be going off the college the next year. I hope that's okay; you can call to talk about it and have a family discussion if you like. I really want to do this, and I think I'm ready. Love you more than anything, Jeanette
