personality Adrian is one of the most charismatic people you'll ever meet. Though his football star-dom as a freshman has given his ego more of a boost than necessarily attractive, you'll often find him surrounded by a group of girls and football pals. He's the epitome of social, and though he's joined at the hip with Axel he can make himself blend with any group, from the nerds to the posers to the druggies.
Another well-known fact about Adrian is that he's hardworking. When embarking on a task he sticks by it, no matter the conflicts or consequences. He rarely reads or watches television (for pleasure, in any case) since such luxuries interfere with time for work and improvement of oneself. Though he jokes around with his friends, he is inwardly a firm believer in seriousness and chivalry.
past The underlying principle of Adrian’s past is that he doesn’t have much of one, that he can remember anyway.
Adrian was discovered on a dark, stormy night, as a tiny, woebegone, malnourished infant tucked snugly into a cozy hollow beneath the root of a tall maple tree, by Emmet Graciela, a poverty-stricken but self-sustaining Danish fisherman. Beside him lay the corpse of a red, curly-haired girl with eyes azure as the clear, unclouded sky. Though Emmet was a simple man and had never married, deep in his heart he’d always longed for a son, to whom he could teach his cherished trade. The man buried the body and legally adopted the boy, who he named Adrian after the Adriatic Sea, where Emmet had always longed to fish.
Needless to say, Adrian grew up in a one-room cottage beside a small pond, with an earthen floor, straw cots, and coarse wooden furniture. Though Emmet did not by any means conceal Adrian’s lack of blood relation to him, as far as Adrian was concerned, Emmet was for all intents and purposes his father. The two spent years together, insular and removed from all the technologies and developments of society. Deep in the woods, Adrian learned to live off the land and support himself when outside influences failed, and was exposed to the art of the fisherman’s craft, the minds and thoughts of the fish, and the patterns and rhythms of the tides. Never even considering the possibility that the world outside the coasts of Denmark, Adrian grew tall, muscular, intelligent, and confident under careful direction of his father.
At last, on the eve of his sixteenth birthday, Adrian decided to embark on a journey further and more foreboding than any he had ever undertaken before: a journey to the outside world. He, along with mild pressuring from his father, decided that the time had come to interact with others, to test his fine-tuned skills against others from far distant, unknown realms. After careful consideration Adrian selected Baum Academy.
present Since entering society, Adrian has proven himself adept at multiple athletic endeavors, namely football: his sizeable muscles and stature make him a formidable opponent. And though he still carries with him a shadow of his previous insularity and ignorance, he covers it up as best he can, patching up the holes in his social adeptness with gregarity and friendly aura. You’ll almost always see Adrian talking to a friend from football or another sports team in which he participates. You'll also rarely see him without Axel at his side. Though he values alone time, fishing or just staring at the waves rolling in and out, Adrian often feels incomplete without Axel to converse with.
Though he’s not an intellectual per se, Adrian’s years of hardworking and perseverance shine through in his studies. It’s not exactly schoolwork that strikes his fancy as it is the achievement and routine. Adrian remains loyal to his father’s ideals through thick and thin, adhering to a strict schedule so nothing is out of place. School, football, homework, bed. Weightlifting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, running on Tuesdays and Thursdays, lap swimming on Saturdays, and church on Sundays. His handwriting is a sophisticated script, his dorm room is spotless, and his speech is clear and coherent, without any of the “ums” or “likes” that inundate the cadence of a normal boy his age.
In summary, every aspect of Adrian Huften is polished and perfect.
