personality
Girly: This girl is feminine, obviously. Usually all she wears is skirts and dresses. Not only that, but she's never played any contact sports, and the only sports she has ever done are yoga or ballet (formerly). She was also one of those pageant girls when she was little, dressed up in those tutus and dancing ballet for a crowd of rabid mothers. She does do pageants still, although much less frequently.
Delicate: This girl is definitely sensitive. She's always been this way: there's no real explanation why. She'll randomly break down in tears over an joking comment. Her friends can easily tone her down, but she can go from happy to sad in mere seconds.
Artistic: Layla here is a singer. No kidding. She's nearly constantly humming a tune under her breath. She's also a dancer, and used to do ballet. She also enjoys being in plays: playing a munchkin in The Wizard Of Oz when she was seven helped her shape herself and become the unafraid person she is today.
Hopeless Romantic: Lay is one of those people with a sensitive heart. She's constantly thinking that her prince will just come and sweep her off her feet, so she's especially hard to deal with when it comes to break-ups. She is learning, however, if you want a guy, look for him, don't make him come to you.
past Layla's life has been fairly simple, in her opinion. She is the only child of Stefan and Leah Montgomery, a happily married couple for ten years, although they believed they couldn't have a child. Layla was a surprise and lit up their lives: They planned on naming her Aurora, although that was Leah's sister, who was died right after she was born. Her parents took that as a bad omen and named her Layla instead.
When she was three, little Layla proclaimed loudly to her parents that she constantly saw multicolor fairies flying around her and muttering different words like 'beauty' or 'artistic' or 'refined.' Her parents decided that it was just a childish fantasy, and dismissed it. They thought she was either sick or tired, so they put her straight to bed that day.
When she was seven, she had forgotten that image of fairies from years before, and was cast as a munchkin in The Wizard Of Oz. She heard a voice that day at the auditions, proclaiming she would die lest her sixteenth birthday come and she would prick her finger, then die. Another voice was heard from her and told her she would only fall into a deep sleep. She thought it was just a couple of people auditioning for the roles of the Wicked Witch and Glinda, so she quickly just assumed they were taking on their parts.
When she was eleven, she got a puppy, a small brown and white beagle. She named it Marri (pronounced Mary) on a whim, and told her all of her secrets. That little puppy, now a three-year-old dog, is still her confident, although only secretly. She doesn't want anyone to know that she talks to a dog!
present Layla's just moved to New York City from Chicago because her father was transferred. Being a businessman for a large technology is an important job, so they moved immediately after Layla finished eighth grade.
Layla's fairly happy she moved - she thinks that she can be a different person now that no one knows her - and believes living in New York will be a blast. She can't wait to make new friends.
family
Stefan Alexander Montgomery: Layla's father, who is a high-ranking businessman in a technology company. He is the first person who called her 'Lay' and the nickname stuck.
Leah Jenelle Montgomery: Layla's mother, who is a stay-st-home mom. She is a artist in her free time, and often sells her paintings to her friends. She is a person who can't cook to save her life, but gives amazing advice.
Marri Montgomery: Layla's beloved beagle, who she secretly talks to when no one else will listen.
likes The color pink, dresses, the scent of roses, yoga, nighttime, glittery pens, jewelery, and summertime.
dislikes Liars and cheaters, the color black, depressing people, math, waking up early, broccoli, and winter.
other notes She loves fairy-tales and is obsessed with Greek Myth, although she would never admit to it. She's great at Geography and stinks at math.

Sleeping Beauty
backstory
A princess is born to the childless king and queen of a country far, far, away. At her Christening, the king and queen invite twelve (or three, according to some versions) fairies to the Christening. As the eleventh (or second) fairy gives her gift, a wicked fairy who was not invited, puts a curse on the young princess. When she turns sixteen, she would prick her finger and die. The twelfth (or third) fairy quickly changes the curse: She shall not die, but she will fall into a deep sleep, only awakened by true love's kiss.
The wicked fairy realizes that she does not die when she pricks her finger, she only falls into a deep sleep. Upon hearing this news, she puts a forest of roses covered in thorns in front of the castle, so no prince may wake her up.
Finally, after a hundred years, an adventurous and handsome prince bravely goes into the forest of thorns. They part before him and let him enter the castle. Seeing the beautiful princess and overcome with love, he kneels and kisses her. She wakes up, along with all others in the castle. The prince and princess get married, and they live happily ever after.

------------------------------
Liana walked aimlessly in the castle hallways. She knew them well.
Her turquoise colored gown was somewhat sagging on the dirty palace hallways, so she picked it up. She was dressed up for a 'peace' ball, but Liana could see right through it.
They wanted a royal marriage to smooth things over.
Of course, this is the reality Liana lived in. Her childhood friend was constantly being poked and prodded at, to be married. He was already eighteen, and was supposed to at least be betrothed right now.
She knew his secrets and his fears. What he loved to do, and what he hated. They had run the castle hallways in large hats with toy swords and pretend they were knights.
Then, of course, Liana had to turn thirteen and become a 'lady'. She was not a lady... Not even close to what her parents wanted her to be!
Liana constantly reminded them that they needed to teach her to be more matured, mild-mannered, and girly.
She often fantasized about chopping off her long, brown hair and becoming a knight. She couldn't, though. Her father, although a lord and a trusted adviser, was falling ill, and they wanted her to get out of the house.
She felt her father's pain, and she knew she must make him proud.
She began to run through the hallways, until she arrived at the ballroom. She walked straight across the dance floor, not even wanting to glance at anyone there. Her father wanted her to come, so here she was.
She touched the small, carved; silver rose on her throat and took a deep breath. It was going to be a long night.
Liana sipped her wine. This ball was getting old, fast.
She could always dance. But whom to dance with?
Her old friend was talking with the princess from the other land.
Some old duke?
Eww! No!
So she just stood there, sipping her wine and watching. Her hair hung loose down her back, and it itched her back, along with her corsets.
Oh, how she wished she were a man and did not have to wear corsets! Down with corsets, up with breeches! They were comfortable, and you could ride in them without that silly sidesaddle.
The world was backwards, according to Liana Marie White.
