personality Tyler has the uncanny ability to go from cool, chilling dude to total nervous wreck in under a minute. He hadn't always been like that, but years and years of his brothers sneaking up on him and scaring him and just doing unspeakably horrible things to him has left him a paranoid freak that jumps at the slightest noise.
This entire fear complex is mainly due to the fact that he's just so gosh darn nice. He doesn't DARE think about being mean to other people, or even talking back to them. He's just about the most meek and subservient guy around, happy to just about anything for anybody.
past Tyler was TORTURED as a child. Not in the scary "Disturbia" way, but in the sense that at every chance they got, his brothers would effing TERRIFY him. Jumping out from behind corners, roaring into his room in the dead of night when the lights were out, hiding under his bed to scare him. It was NOT a happy childhood.
Then of course it just so happened that his dad's business picked up. What was his business, you ask? Writing horror novels. Oh yes, even his own father was against him. So of course they then moved out of Alberta Canada to NYC, to be closer to his publisher or for new inspiration or something like that. Tyler was never really clear on the full details of the explaination for the move. He just knew that suddenly he was picked out of the moderately safe Canadian city, where crime rate was low, to New York, home of all rapists and things that go bump in the night and people who would do worse than shout "BOO" when they jumped out from behind dark corners.
Tyler was placed in the Frank L Baum Academy, something that made him feel relatively safer because he wouldn't have to worry about dark alleyways ( at least not too often, anyway) and he could learn the school layout and memorize safe routes faster than if he had the entire city to contend with. Plus it kept him an arms length away from his brothers. That was always a plus.
present Tyler is adjusting... moderately well to the city life. When you jump at the sound of footsteps behind you its nearly impossible to get used to a the city that never sleeps. Now that the new semester is starting he just prays that he'll get assigned to a nice, calm, orderly roommate.
Tyler has found solace in photography. He figures that when you know that nothing is going to be moving any time soon there can't be any danger in it, right? He likes to take pictures of pretty much everything, every time he see's something he thinks is pretty or nice.
