[+] kind ;;janelle is a sweetheart to all. no matter how they behave upon first meeting her, she will be completely civil to them. she will go out of her way to help them in small matters such as holding a door open or getting them a drink. while she sometimes wonders as to how one could not get along with her, she will not push friendship onto them. janelle is simply a nice person who treats others as she herself would want to be treated.
[+] not easily angered ;;janelle is able to keep check of her anger, no matter the situation. she has never once raised her voice and she’s never even considered closing her hands into fists. janelle is a patient girl who is very difficult to anger. even when she does reach what would be a boiling point, janelle will excuse herself, refusing to engage in an argument or fight. she is a peace-maker; janelle will attempt to talk out a solution.
[-] guarded ;;janelle isn’t one to wear her heart on her sleeve. she keeps her feelings hidden, often wearing a complacent smile even in the worst of times. she doesn’t want others to know when she’s truly upset over something and so she will bottle it up. she keeps her feelings hidden from her family; she even keeps them secret from emmaline, her sister and perhaps closest friend. some consider her to be distant for her lack of emotions but those just don’t know her.
[-] oblivious ;;janelle isn’t always so, but she has had her moments of complete unawareness. perhaps it’s that she’s guarded herself, but she doesn’t always tend to notice how one may be feeling and can come off as insensitive. she’s often unaware of when somebody is flirting with her and this can appear as rather haughty. she is neither insensitive or haughty, she’s just a bad combination of shielded and oblivious.
past
janelle was born and raised in london, england, and from the start, she was a spoiled child. as evangeline and jonathon’s first daughter, they treated her well. she got the new toys and was taught how to read and play piano at an early age. evangeline, being a stay at home mom, worked hard to make sure janelle would be a proper woman who could keep a household running even without a husband. she would be able to cook, clean, sew, do laundry, sing, play piano; she would be well-educated in all sorts. of course, janelle did not like this all very much, at such a young age, and she was ecstatic when emmaline was born. not only did her new sister receive some of the attention that was smothering janelle, she was such a cute little baby, that janelle was smitten. she vowed to protect her little sister as best she could, whether it be from bullies or even their often overbearing mother.
janelle grew up without as much attention once emmaline was born, and especially once three more girls joined the family. she didn’t mind this; at least piano and sewing lessons weren’t being shoved down her throat any longer. emmaline became janelle’s closest friend and she got along with her best when it came to her other sisters. lydia and catherine were gossip-y girls who often giggled over men and balls with their mother; mary was studious and quiet. janelle was happy to have a sister that she could get along with. janelle got into horseback riding when she was about ten; it was a bit young for her parents but she felt best when she was riding horses, her hair free and her adrenaline pumping. school was alright; she didn’t get along with the other girls for they were like her younger sisters. they were emotional females and janelle often felt out of place.
when emmaline left for the states, janelle was at a loss. her family were much more expressive over how upset they were and janelle was left to put on a front. she had to appear strong for the others. nonetheless, janelle had partially relied on emmaline throughout school. how was she to handle college on her own? it took her quite some time to make a decision, about a year, but she finally decided to pack up and join emmaline in new york. her mother was not pleased and, at this point, her sisters were becoming jealous. still, janelle wanted a new experience and, with promises of letters and souvenirs, she left. new york was, as she’d hoped, a new experience. for awhile, janelle stayed with emmaline until she enrolled at barrie and stayed in a dorm room. quite unsure of what career she wanted to join, janelle simply took generic courses that she would have had to take anyway.
present
janelle is now in her third year of college. even now, she has no idea what she wants to do. janelle quite likes working with animals; she rides horseback and works at a pet salon. she has a special way with them, speaking in hushed tones if they are frightened and playing with them when she gets the chance. though she doesn’t own any pets, janelle loves to visit emmaline where she can play with bennet all she wants.
janelle is currently taking generic courses at barrie university along with a few veterinarian-based classes. she’s homesick sometimes so she writes letters often, even if they don’t get replies. working at the pet salon has gotten her into a few places; it’s often women with fancy pooches who pay quite a lot of money for their pet to be well taken care of. they go to janelle most of the time and they have invited her to events to thank her.

backstory jane is the eldest and prettiest of the bennet sisters in jane austen’s pride and prejudice. she is cheerful and friendly, always ready to see the best in others. she meets mr. bingley at the ball in meryton and they immediately hit it off. after a few complications [mr. bingley leaves longbourn without saying goodbye, she spends time in London (while he was there and yet they never see each other), lydia’s near elopement with wickham], jane and mr. bingley are reunited. he proposes to her and they have a happy ending.
