When Elsie Everett was born, things weren't quite right in the household. She was taken in by an aunt and moved to St. Goarshausen, Germany, where Lorelei was truly born. Fascinated by the local tales of the siren that drew men to her, Elsie grew up dreaming of otherworldly creatures such as faeries, mermaids, and haunts. She moved away from the land she loved back to Los Angeles, California to be with her family again. That was all fine and dandy - she missed her father and her sister - but Elsie really wanted to be back in Germany.
The best thing about Los Angeles was the abundance of stupid men there. Elsie slowly became an expert of using men to get what she wanted. Her personality changed, becoming more social and more self-centered than before and farther away from reality as Elsie investigated deep into myths about St. Goarshausen and mermaids. The legend of Lorelei stuck in her head, and eventually, Elsie decided to change her name to Lorelei Elsie Everett.
Not too long after that, the newly named Lorelei married David Werner, the owner of a lounge where she sometimes sang. The marriage lasted a few good years, until the mermaid inside Lorelei awakened. David died while he and his wife were at sea on their private boat. He accidently drowned. At least that was the story Lorelei told the police.

Now, Lorelei moved to New York to "escape the memory of her late husband". She works as a lounge singer where ever she can, and sometimes, she can be found in Central Park on the Broadway side, singing and playing guitar. Lorelei doesn't do it for money - she wants the attention. Occasionally, she'll go to the docks and walk around, missing the open ocean.
