personality
(+) responsibleolivia is very responsible when it comes to, well, everything. she feels responsible for the tooth fairy’s job though the fairy does a well enough job on her own. olivia also tends to feel like it’s her job to make sure everybody she knows brushes their teeth at least twice a day. she takes responsibility for a lot of things but only as long as it’s justified. example: she will not take responsibility for someone whose just stolen something.
(-) judgmentalupon first meeting a person, olivia will base her opinion of them on how pretty their teeth are. if they have yellow or crooked teeth, she’ll drop the conversation immediately and give them a card to the dental place she works at. if they have glittering, perfect pearly whites, she immediately deems them a friend and promptly asks where they get their teeth checked. she has met few, though, who (perfect teeth or not) she does not approve of.
(+) caringkind, caring, sweet, gentle: olivia is all of the above. especially to friends, olivia treats them with the utmost respect and will help them out in tough situations. olivia knows how it is to have a difficult time and to just want help from everybody. she does her best to make sure her friends know they aren’t alone.
(-) perfectionistthough this trait does have its advantages, it is all around something that olivia does not appreciate. it takes up time that could be spent doing more important things. she hates that she spends nearly twenty minutes to make her bed every morning and she hates when she has to bother a stranger over something that needs fixing (in her opinion). example: olivia has gone to the point of approaching a stranger and fixing their hair until each strand fell just right.
past
olivia jane willoughby grew up with various visits to the hospital and dentist. suffering from a cleft palate, the poor girl had trouble eating, hearing infections, a speech impediment and braces. she was often in tears over her predicament and she grew to absolutely despise the dentist and even her parents, at times, because it was so obviously their fault. her father's mother had been victim to a cleft palate when she was a child and it was apparently something that ran in the family. the appearance caused by this kept her inside, embarrassed over how she looked and worried of what the other kids would think. she took online school which actually worked out all the better; olivia thrived taking these classes.
throughout her life, she had numerous surgeries to repair the cleft palate. she was very young, barely a year old, when they created a ‘functional palate’ which, as her parents told her, helped. then she’d had a bone graft at seven which improved the support of her teeth, nose, and lips. around nine, she’d received braces and started seeing a speech therapist. it was awfully embarrassing, especially since her parents made her attend school now that the problem wasn’t as bad. “not as bad,” she’d muttered bitterly, “i look awful.” classmates weren’t all that friendly with her. though she was embarrassed, she acted superior; she was friends with the mean girls who liked olivia’s attitude.
ten years old was a strange year. it was late one night and olivia was having trouble falling asleep; her braces were annoying her, when a glowing figure appeared in her room. olivia worried she’d died or something and this was an angel to take her away; the form had laughed, an airy and light sound, before disappearing. needless to say, olivia could not sleep that night. it happened a few other times, each when it was the middle of the night and always the same circumstance. olivia didn’t realize at first, but she soon discovered that her quarters seemed to be disappearing; it was frustrating because she was very meticulous about keeping track of her money.
it was a strange year because the first night she saw this shape, her braces had been bothering her and, right after it happened, her teeth felt just fine. her teeth steadily improved and the dentists and doctors were baffled. this was supposed to take eighteen years! olivia was overjoyed; if the glowing stature appeared, olivia’s teeth continued to recover. the braces were off half a year early and by sixteen, her teeth, and mouth in general, were perfect. it was as if she’d never had a cleft palate. olivia was still unsure of who this glowing figure was, though. she appeared for a very short amount of time before fluttering out the (closed, mind you) window. olivia tried to ignore it.
college was an interesting time. the glowing figure made many more appearances and not just at night. the glowing figure glowed just a bit less; enough for olivia to realize she was a thin blonde with wings who made odd jingling noises when she moved. olivia later learned that it was the sound of coins in a pouch and she realized where her quarters had been disappearing over the years. it wasn’t until olivia graduated that she finally learned of the woman’s identity: the tooth fairy. olivia had laughed that off before understanding that this was probably why her teeth were so perfect now. it was probably because of the tooth fairy that olivia took care of her mouth so obsessively.
olivia moved onto being a dental assistant which was surprising for her; she’d grown up loathing the dentist. olivia had been staying at jacobs apartment complex. she worked hard, visited her parents often, and was a perfectionist in many ways. needless to say, the tooth fairy made olivia move to the ice palace for she refused to live in a place such as the apartments.
present
olivia now lives at the ice palace in a room much too fancy for her preferences. she’s always been a girl who preferred the simpler life. ever since the tooth fairy had awakened, though, things had been interesting. sure, the woman wasn’t around very much until college, but olivia still felt like she owed her so much. the tooth fairy has taken to being called iris; she isn’t around at all during night time. olivia has learned that iris takes care of the children of the east coast for the most part. iris hasn’t really explained the whole tooth fairy deal and olivia doesn’t mind; it’s just one more thing that would make her life stressful.
olivia brushes her teeth after every snack or meal and flosses three times a day. she judges a person upon first meeting them by their teeth or smile. she’s a perfectionist in nearly everyway. she lines up her pencils, makes her bed (and spends a good fifteen minutes smoothing out wrinkles), follows a strictly time schedule of teeth brushing and sleep, color-coordinates her closet and... well, if it’s a mess, olivia is not pleased.

other notes when somebody continues to call her by something other than her name (olive, livvie, and liv are quite common), she grinds her teeth. as if the nickname didn't make her mad enough, the fact that she's grinding her teeth infuriates her. it's very bad, you know.
