personality Sam is the more reserved in the family. With, in her opinion--more attention dedicated to Becky, Sam felt left to fend on her own. At least in trying to find her talents. When compared to her sisters, she'll often rebell and pull away from that idea. She would like to be remembered as Sammie, not the baby of the Carlson family. She's been a fast learner, and often spends her money from working on language lessons. She's fluent in English, French, and currently learning German.
She's a little more quiet, and a little shyer. She had a bout with stagefright throughout her middleschool years, and for her first two years of high-school. She was often found working in the light booth. Until early junior year, she was found singing to Caro Emerald, and the drama department discovered that the baby of the Carlson family, also had a gift.
She loves to sing, but even more she loves to dance. And quite often, when focusing on dancing, her stage fright leaves her and she finds herself opened and free. She is skilled in samba, salsa, tango, and hip-hop. Though as her her favorite style, and she'll say pop dancing, and hip-hop. Rather than stick with the classics like the rest of her family, she'd much rather be a Hollywood star, than a Broadway star.
past Sammie, the youngest of the Calson sisters, grew up in Connecticut. Often feeling she was hidden in her older sister, Becky's, shadow, she kept to herself. Helping out in the family's popular resturaunt, The Wandering Goose Cafe. Since Sam discovered walking, she had been in dance classes. She never took to the classical, slow form of ballet--however. She liked the quick, energetic motions of hip-hop, samba, salsa, flamenco, and tango.
Her eyes always seemed to roll, when theater was mentioned. She could appreciate the rawness of acting, and standing alone on a stage. But she prefered the idea of a recording booth, or a stage with lights, fireworks, something glitzy and bright. The glamour.
So when the family announced they were moving, initially Samantha was excited for it. Something other than living in the middle of nowhere. New friends, a new chance to be known as something other than the youngest Carlson sister.
Until she found out it was New York. Broadway. Stage. Theater, and further and further away from California.
present Currently a Junior at Baum Academy, she once again found herself hidden in her older sister's shadow. Her talented, gifted, and smart sister.
Sam was once again working in the back rooms of the stage, only dancing across the stage floor once the auditorium was cleared out. She has coaxed her mother into allowing her a twice weekly slot at the main resturaint of their newly growing chain. Twice a week, she stands on the makeshift stage and sings, occasionally dances as well. Showtunes are not in her plans--pop, rock, and occasionally hip hop.
But the nights she's not dancing or singing--she's found waiting tables until late in the night. Or cleaning tables, or sitting in an empty booth, writing in her journal. book title Hansel and Gretel
backstory Gretel is Hansel's sister. The two were cast out of their house by their step-mother in order to prevent the family from starving. The two siblings get lost in the forest, and stumble upon a house made of sweets and bread, and are tricked by an evil, cannabalistic witch.
Hansel is trapped in a cage, and is fed over a period of months to be ripe for fattening. Gretel is forced into being the witch's slave. When the witch is finally hungry enough to eat them, Gretel tricks the witch, and frees her brother and they escape and flee back home.
