...personal*
personality Jimmy Fits either loves you or he hates you. If he hates you, you've got one hell of an enemy, because he will do everything to make your life miserable. He will show no mercy and destroy you, or throw himself under the bus trying. But if he loves you: prepare to be treated like royalty. He will lavish you, spoil you, spread out a red carpet for you. He will follow you to the ends of the earth, loyal as a golden retriever.
He is a bit of a scraper, but would much prefer for others to do his dirty work. Jimmy is eloquent and has charisma despite his peculair appearance, but can be easily swayed by the people he loves. He knows the law extensively, and being a creature of great ambition, is perfectly at ease with bribes.
past Jimmy has rather humble beginnings, starting out in Hells Kitchen, New York. His Mother was a Maid, his Father was a Factory worker. Older Brother, younger sister. Government cheese and cop sirens. Nothing of much difference than his neighbors. But what separated him from the boys who played baseball in the streets? He had ambition. Great ambition. After a dirty lawyer named Harvard Weinstein got his Father off for Car Jacking, little Jimmy boy knew he wanted to be a lawyer. They were respected. They never got picked on. They were never poor. And Jimmy never wanted to be poor again. That he knew for sure. One day, he'd live like a Fucking King.
His childhood was based around his brother getting into various pickles, his sister working meager jobs, his Father's alcoholism getting consistently worse, his Mother's infidelities more and more apparent. He didn't care. Deep down, Jim wasn't even sure if he really liked them. They were... too content. They enjoyed their food stamps and status life had provided them. Or they at least did nothing to fix it.
That he could not respect.
When Jim was sixteen he began going to the Alleyway. Originally it was to vent out some anger. Sometimes he'd win, sometimes he'd loose. He is an utterly average man, after all. Once he got a knick on his face he called it quits, not wanting his appearance to rugged for fear it would become difficult to find work someday.
present Currently, Jim is studying law at J. Barrie University. He works as an intern at Hartfram and Wolf legal, and on his free time he is a bet taker at The Alleyway. He knows the regulars, who to bet on, and so he has a pretty constant flow of money. Better yet, Money he doesn't have to claim on taxes.
Despite not being the most good looking Joe, Jim is determined he can get any girl he wants with the right attitude. And he is determined to find love, because someday he wants the whole deal. Two perfect kids, perfect job, perfect house, perfect dog, perfect wife. He wants it, and he is one incredibly stubborn Prick. He'll get it or die trying.

...literature*
book title Alice in Wonderland
backstory He seems to, when compared to the Queen of Hearts, be the moderate part of the Wonderland government. As an example, when the Queen, who enjoys ordering beheadings, attempts to have Alice executed (charged with being unable to answer who is lying down in front of her) the King of Hearts reminds her that she is only a child.
The King also quietly pardons many of the subjects the Queen has ordered to be beheaded when the Queen is not looking. This guarantees few people are actually beheaded. Nevertheless, when the Queen plays a game of croquet in the story, the only players who remain at the end are himself, the Queen, and Alice.
At the Knave of Hearts' trial, however, where he acts as judge, he is revealed to be quite juvenile, with such lines as, "don't be nervous or I'll have you executed on the spot" to the Mad Hatter, or asking the Duchess's cook irrelevant questions such as, "what are tarts made of?" Between the two of them, the King and Queen appear to present a fairly accurate portrayal of why Wonderland is as childish, reckless and confusing as it is.
