Shay is everything you would want in a guy. He's charming, he's attractive. He also happens to want all your money. The charm and wit are all there to pin you down and see what will make you buckle to his needs. Now, now. That doesn't mean he will respect you and treat you with dignity. Shay aims to be chivalrous at all times.
Shay's not all glamour. His Russian roots give him a deep connection to anything from his home country. He can also be sweet, but he doesn't believe in love. He keeps his eye on the prize, and he wins almost every time.
past
When Shay's parents met, they were both in Russia and extremely poor. They had him. Around the age of three, they up and left Russia.
For years, Shay's family spoke a mixture of English and Russian to him. His mother used it in intervals so much he was surprised when the other kids didn't understand him. They were also still lower class, fighting their way toward middle. This is when Shay decided it would be fun to get some spare cash. He tricked other kids into funding him for fake causes and did tricks for payments, too. With that money, he bought a puppy. He named that puppy Buddy. They have a sort of hate relationship.
When Shay was younger, his mother and father brought him on a weekend trip to New Jersey, by the beach. While his parents were out, Shay snuck down to the beach and observed a little girl and her mother. The little girl wandered away into the water and her mother ran in for her. The little girl came out, but the mother never did. He called the police. Years later, he learned that the mother died. He's never forgotten that little girl, her confused look. And how he didn't dare talk to her and how he didn't help her.
By the way, Shay was also a child genius. He excelled in all maths, but was very brutish about it. He lost his accent. He called his teachers names in Russian so much they eventually just started yelling whenever he muttered anything in his native tongue.
As Shay grew older, his parents finaces reached a stability. But he was still in it for the cash. He was expelled from his public school during Freshman year and enrolled in Baum Academy with a scholarship pretty much a week after that. They labelled him "misunderstood by the public school system."

Shay is continuing with his schemes. With that money, he either bets it, gambles it, or uses it to by cigarettes. He doesn't have much to do with his large sum of cash at Baum, but he's still looking for a bigger plot.
Throughout Shay's life, he has always felt like he was missing something major in his life. That one puzzle peice that would quench his greed. It's the one riddle he can't solve. Maybe it's in the one place where he isn't looking for it?
He also managed to sneak Buddy in, sometimes he bribes people to hide him in their rooms when people catch on.

other notes none really. he lost his russian accent at a young age, he's just fluent in both languages now. also, shay's colorblind! he doesn't tell a lot of people, but it's basically unimportant unless he needs to color something or when he has to pick out matching clothes.
