...personal*
personality Johanna is a genuinely sweet person, which is the reason she usually ends up in trouble. She is vulnerable, and even when her initial gut feeling tells her not to trust someone, she will fight against it. She believes that there is good in everyone. If someone is cruel to her, she will simply do whatever they say, because she doesn’t have the courage to fight back.
Although Johanna is friendly and giggly around her friends, she is very, very shy around people she doesn’t know very well. In fact, she’s terrified of anything that is unfamiliar to her. Being alone is one of her worst fears, and the darkness is even scarier.
Her state of mind, at times, could be compared to that of a five year old. She’s curious about the world, but too scared to go out into it. She focuses way too much on other people’s problems and sometimes forgets that she needs to solve her own. Even though she constantly shows a generosity and understanding towards others, she has a lot of emotional scars. She covers her pain by convincing herself that one day, everything will be okay, and her prince will come.
past
Picture a gorgeous suburban cottage, surrounded by emerald grass and a cotton candy blue sky. From afar, it may look like the perfect life. But Johanna’s life was very far from perfect. Behind those pretty doors, lived Margaret Rosedale, a woman obsessed with riches, power, and manipulation. From the moment Johanna laid eyes on her, she knew that she was only using her father for money. But it was too late. They were married when she was only in second grade. She smiled for her father, waltzing down the aisle in that yellow dress as the flower girl, throwing rose petals. But she saw that menancing glare, and she knew that trouble was arising.
When her father married this woman, he had a talk with Johanna. He told her that it was all for the best, that Margaret was wonderful, that she would never try to replace her mother (who had died from cancer a year earlier.) He told her that she needed a mother figure, and that Margaret was the perfect fit. However, he was wrong….and he didn’t have time to fix his mistake. He died unexpectantly only weeks after the marriage in a car crash. Margaret cried like a banshee, but yet again, Johanna saw hints of satisfaction in her eyes. And it was truly revealed to her only days later.
Johanna’s father had not left a single penny to Margaret. In fact, she only had possession of the house until Johanna turned eighteen. Something snapped inside her after that. She was no longer just a gold digger. She was absolutely outraged. She wanted that money, and she wanted Johanna gone.
She did everything possible to get rid of her. Never straight out tried to kill her per se, but tortured her to the point that would make her want to kill herself. She beat her, constantly told her how worthless she was, and occasionally locked her in the basement for a night. Johanna desperately wanted to tell someone, but her stepmother promised it would only get worse if she did. She spent countless nights crying with her knees to her chest, praying that her father could just be alive again and take this monster away from her. Through it all, she kept up optimism, promising herself that one day, it would all go away. She used music as a way to cope with her pain, and she also found a few friends that have helped her through it. Although most of her friends know that she has trouble at home, they don’t know how harsh it really is. She has never told anyone.
present
When Johanna entered high school, she was scared to death, but she never really showed it. Her mother is still the same, and she’s dealt with it for eight years. The only time she truly feels comfortable is when she has music around her. She sings, and she also plays piano, flute, and guitar, which she taught herself. She also loves animals and sometimes she feels like she has a greater connection with them than she does with people. She helps out at an animal shelter, and she has two pets- a black lab, named Hunter, and a bunny named Snowball, both adopted from the shelter.
When it comes to the love department, there’s not much to say about Johanna. She’s never been in a relationship, nor has she ever wanted to be. She’s never even had a crush, and simply, she’s waiting for “The One.” She does not want the kind of relationship where it goes nowhere. She wants someone to love her, which she doesn’t think she’s truly had since her father died. She figures that when she finds her one and only, she’ll know in an instant that they belong together.

backstory A beautiful girl, Snow White, takes refuge in the forest in the house of seven dwarfs to hide from her stepmother, the wicked Queen. The Queen is jealous because she wants to be known as "the fairest in the land," and Snow White's beauty surpasses her own. The dwarfs grow to love their unexpected visitor, who cleans their house and cooks their meals. But one day while the dwarfs are at their diamond mine, the Queen arrives at the cottage disguised as an old peddler woman and persuades Snow White to bite into a poisoned apple. The dwarfs, warned by the forest animals, rush home to chase the witch away, but they are too late to save Snow White from the poisoned apple. They place her in a glass coffin in the woods and mourn for her. The Prince, who has fallen in love with Snow White, happens by and awakens her from the wicked Queen's deathlike spell with "love's first kiss."
