The seconds ticked by slowly as Liam's casket was lowered into the ground. It was all over now - Liam was dead and now he was being buried. It all happened so fast. One day, Mitch was hasseling his older brother, poking fun at him and his new girlfriend; the next they were both just gone, vanished from this world, stolen away by a drunken driver on a lonely back road. In a flash, the funeral ended, and they all returned to their own homes, his father being comforted by relatives, his younger brothers arguing loudly among themselves, his older sisters seeking sympathy from their husbands, his sister Marnie watching the scene with tear-filled eyes. Mitch wished he could make it all better for his sister - she was the closest to Liam in age and in friendship - but how could he be a friend and a brother when his own heart was torn to pieces?but if we are wise
we know that there's
always tomorrow.
The chiming of the university bell rang throughout campus, marking that it was one o'clock in the morning, but it was largely ignored by those still awake, who, like Mitch, were mostly preoccupied. The distraction that currently had Mitch's attention was named Christina, a freshman like himself, and outrageously drunk. Her kisses felt like underwater fireworks - muted by alcohol, but exploding with passion - and the fireworks continued as Mitch fumbled with the lock on his dormroom door. Even if Christina was only following the vodka's orders, it didn't really matter. All that mattered was the here and now. They were here, and the time was now. Grinning like a maniac, Mitch gave the girl a quick kiss and pulled her towards the bed. Was the first week of college like this for everyone?Lean on me, when you're not strong
and I'll be your friend -
I'll help you carry on.
The statue of a man standing in the corner was bothering Mitch. They were at a club for god's sake, and this sad stoic was watching the crowd as they danced with a disinterested look. Most likely he was dragged along by a group of friends and abandoned upon arrival. As Mitch took another drink, he toyed with the idea that the stoic was really a security guard or a secret agent, come to check out the scene for some criminal with a taste for clubbing. Now, that was a strange fantasy that even Mitch's bizarre personality could only come up with under the influence. He took another gulp of his drink, nodding absently at the patron sitting next to him - Am I supposed to know him? As Mitch approached the stoic, something clicked within his mind - he knew the man, from... from somewhere. Was it television? Mitch grinned and leaned unsteadily against a nearby table, speaking to the stoic. "So, Mr. Beare," he asked mischievously, glancing up at the towering man. "What is a handsome, affluent man such as yourself doing without a gorgeous escort?"For it won't be long
'til I'm gonna need
somebody to lean on.
If a dream is a wish your heart makes, is a satisfied wish a dream come true? This was something that Mitch enjoyed the most - helping others, helping children, make their dreams come true. Amidst all of the drunken tendencies and insanity that Mitch held, his greatest wish was to help others. And now that wish involved dressing up as a crab and venturing to a children's hospital with his theatre/music group to sing a cappella songs from Disney's The Little Mermaid. Smiles, songs, and sea creatures? What could be better?
present Currently Mitch is a senior at J Barrie University. He is friends with Garrett Beare and, possibly by that relationship, with Adrian Lovett, and the three guys make a strange team.

Alice, Part 4
After walking a good five minutes, Alice exited the forest and came upon the Mad Hatter's home. "Mr. Rabbit? Hatter? Are either of you here?"
A crash and a clatter later, a pair of grey grizzled ears poked out from the window. With much muttering and condemnation of lack of proper footstools, the March Hare appeared, his head jutting out just above the flowers that bloomed outside the Hatter's house. "Are you here for tea? You're extremely early, but very late." The crazy hare chuckled, his long ears bobbing as he did.
"How can I be early yet late at the same time?" Alice asked, studying the creature carefully. After a moment she realised it was the March Hare. "Oh, March Hare! It is I, Alice. Oh, please tell me that you recognise me! Mr. Rabbit did not have any clue as to who I was. I told him it was Alice and he accused me of being an imposter. Oh, please, March Hare, tell me that you recognise me."
"Alice?" The Hare's ears stood straight as he eyed the girl through a broken monocle. "Nonsense, you are surely mad." He nodded and disappeared. The door was as tall as Alice, but a small opening about three foot by three foot at the bottom swung out and the Hare hopped onto the doorstep. He was a funny creature, with the ears as high as the girl's waist and dressed in a dark blue blazer and collared shirt, both worn out and dusty. The March Hare gazed at Alice expectantly. "Well, c'mon in."
