...personal*
personality Nora is a fragile thing and she is naturally suspicious. She is easily overwhelmed, and when she becomes too much so she will retreat into her head.
Luckily, there's someone there to talk to.
When Morgan came into Nora's life, she was only nine years old. Her Mother had left when she was young, and her relationship with her Father was an uneasy one. He was a temperamental sort, and was easily annoyed by his meek and clumsy daughter. As was Jon Compton's theory on children: Spare the rod, Spoil the Child. This did not suit Morgan, and the Sorceress soon took actions that put Nora in a sticky situation (see PAST). After the incident, the police found Nora quite traumatized and sincerely unaware of what happened, and so she was put in The Grove Woods Institute. This did little for her psyche, and she became anxious and panicky.
Though Nora herself is quite Passive and Sweet, with a naturally nurturing personality; Morgan had a fierce temperament and would fly into a rage at the right provocation. It makes it very difficult to handle Nora, because one never knows what will set Morgan off. One day something will be fine, the next it will be the most offensive thing in the world.
past Jon Compton and Clarice Marshal were not right for each other. The fact that they had a child was a cruel twist in the unstable circumstances that was their relationship. After a year and a half, however, Clarice called it quits. She went out for cigarette's and never returned; thus leaving her child to the hands of her alcoholic, sometimes very cruel, Father.
Nora grew up walking on eggshells, which is very difficult for someone as clumsy as she. Her unhappiness could not have been more prominent; until the arrival of her imaginary friend Morgan. You see, Morgan said that she was a Fairy, and she promised to protect Nora from the evils of the world. Much to Morgan's distaste Nora would make excuses for her father's behavior. Nora would beg for forgiveness on his behalf, and Morgan would give in. But one night, Jon went to far.
On one of his drunken rampages, angry at his boss, he beat his defenseless daughter. Black and blue, with a small concussion, Morgan decided no more. She took control of the little girl and handled it.
And by handled it I mean she violently stabbed Jon Compton to death with a kitchen knife.
When Nora awoke, she found her Father and called the police, despite Morgan's protests. They arrested her soon after, and she was sentenced to be treated at Grove Woods Institute until she was of sound mind; having been found insane. She refused to speak to Morgan until she promised never to kill again, which took close to a year.
present Nora was released when she turned nineteen, though she is to check in with a psychiatrist once a week or be placed back in the Institution. She works at the food court at the mall, and lives in the humble Lost Boys Housing.
Morgan, whose existence Nora wisely omitted to the shrinks, became even more alive once they arrived in New York.

book title Arthurian Legends
backstory WIKIPEDIA:
Morgan le Fay, alternatively known as Morgane, Morgaine, Morgana and other variants, is a powerful sorceress in the Arthurian legend. Early works featuring Morgan do not elaborate her character beyond her role as a fay or magician. She became much more prominent in the later cyclical prose works such as the Lancelot-Grail and the Post-Vulgate Cycle, in which she becomes an antagonist to King Arthur and Queen Guinevere: she is said to be the daughter of Arthur's mother, the Lady Igraine, and her first husband, Gorlois, Duke of Cornwall, so that Arthur is her half brother (by Igraine and Uther Pendragon).
The early accounts of Geoffrey of Monmouth and Gerald of Wales refer to Morgan in conjunction with the Isle of Apples (later Avalon) to which the fatally-wounded Arthur was carried. To the former she was an enchantress, one of nine sisters, while to the latter she was the ruler and patroness of an area near Glastonbury and a close blood-relation of King Arthur. In the early romances of Chrétien de Troyes, also, she figures as a healer.
Though in later stories she becomes an adversary of the Round Table when Guinevere discovers her adultery with one of her husband's knights, she eventually reconciles with her brother, and even retains her original role, serving as one of the four enchantresses who carry the king to Avalon after his final battle at Camlann. She has at least two older sisters, Elaine and Morgause, the latter of whom is the mother of Gawain and the traitor Mordred. In Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur and elsewhere, she is married, unhappily, to King Urien of Gore and Ywain is her son.

rp sample Where was that cat? Lenora's eyes searched her tiny space for the little black cat, shaking the bag of cat food lightly. "Binxy Cat, Binxy Cat, Mew Mew Mew." She cooed softly, as the sleek creature weaved between her legs. Looking down, Nora smiled fondly at the creature. But when she looked up she saw Morgan frown in a mysterious disapproval. Not at Binxy, Nora was sure. Morgan liked cats. Maybe more than she even liked humans. "Hello Morgan."
In no way were the two women in the room similar with one another. Morgan was dark featured, curvaceous and buxom, clad in rich medieval gowns of emerald. She had a swarthy complexion, kinky black hair, and deep, penetrating dark eyes. Nora, on the other hand, had warm blond hair, pale, round, blue eyes. Her skin was fair, especially against her simple cloths. She wore a black, thin, turtleneck under a dark brown, sleeveless smock. Black tights, brown shoes, a brown belt. They were night and day, yin and yang. Lenora stared at her old friend, the friend no one else could see, with a pre-submitting disposition. Morgan looked scolding. "Hello Lenora."
"Is something wr-"
"Who was that boy?" Morgan interrupted. It was exhausting, that Morgan was always with her. It made it very difficult to at least appear normal. The boy in question was named Tommy. Tommy came and got a milkshake at the food court every day, and had today inquired about Lenora's phone number. Lenora politely explained she had no phone, though this was a lie. He persisted, until Lenora agreed to go out to lunch on Saturday. She knew she shouldn't of.
Morgan hated people, especially boys.
They were 'Others'.
But Nora craved the dreaded Others. "Tommy." Nora said simply, pouring food into the bowl for Binxy. "He seemed very-"
"Yes they always seem to be." Morgan retorted impatiently. "Do you know what boys do, Lenora? They do terrible things to sweet girls like you. They eat you, and your kind, for breakfast. Why would you endanger-"
"They don't all have to be-"
Morgan roused at the unexpected rebellion. "Yes. They are all like that. Men. MEN." Morgan said in disgust. Seeing Nora's saddened face, she let up her dissatisfaction and embraced her host. "I only mean to protect you. Please reconsider. Let me protect you."
Taking a brave deep breath, Nora looked stern. "I'll think on it."
This, not being what Morgan wanted to hear, disappeared all together. Nora ignored the ache in her heart, that she had displeased her only friend, and stroked Binxy's soft coat.
