Naomi has traits that are similar to that of a prairie dog. When spoken to, her body straightens up and her eyes widen severely, studying you intensely. She's also know for talking to herself during all hours of the night, muttering about nonsensical things. During that time, she looks 'calm' or as close to calm as she can get. When asked about these moments, she ignores the questions and just continues in her own way.
She refuses to trust people over the age of 30 for personal reasons. When confronted about this quirk she'll shut down completely. She might talk to herself but it'll be more frantic at that time. It becomes hard to calm her down, because she won't explain what's wrong. Which can make it worse.
She's a loner on purpose. She never truly feels alone though. It's mostly her need for privacy and her hate of physical touch that drove her to become an introvert.
past
Naomi grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and lived there until she was four years old. Her mother, Patty, moved her to New York because of 'work'. Their home life was peaceful, until at the age of seven, they discovered that Naomi had insomnia. Patty took her to a doctor and they explained that it would only be a phase in her daughter's life. Patty believed them and didn't think anything of it.
However, Naomi knew that this wasn't a phase. She knew that this 'disease' was from years and years of mommy bringing home men. Men that Naomi thought were hurting her mother. Years of staying awake to run away from the wandering hands of disgusting perverts seeking young flesh.
This was around the time Sandman appeared to Naomi. He told her who he was and asked her if she would like to sleep. She told him yes and he kissed her gently on the eyes. For the first night in five years, she slept all night. In the morning, she told her mother that she met the Sandman last night. Her mother didn't think anything of it and still thinks nothing of that night.
present
Naomi and her mother ended up in New York because of Patty's exotic dancing career. She doesn't mind the school that much, keeps to herself for the most part, but with her senior year approaching she'd like to make some closer friends and have a good last year.
Although she is embarrassed by her mother's career, she accepts it and doesn't hate her mother for what she does, anymore at least.
Her and Sandman have a close relationship since she was seven. They rarely fight and talk at night mostly.
