personality Keegan is a good enough guy. As they say he is a decent enough person but a horrible tiger. He is a sweet heart who would do just about anything for anyone. He is overly trusting, and quite happy to remain that way. Many would call him hopelessly naïve for his almost faulted trusting nature. For having the largest tiger of its kind (though what kind of tiger that was the hungry tiger couldn't tell Keegan)Keegan was a real softie.
Because of the Tigers constant huger it leaves poor Keegan always hungry. He has worse munchies then a stoner at snack time. He almost always has a package of cookies, or a granola bar, or any other number of snacky foods. At times he gets frustrated and grumpy about his constat hunger for no matter how much he eats he never seems to gain weight. So he is rarely seen without some form of snack.
For the same reason Keegan gets nervous about going anywhere near kids. The tiger gets particularly excited when near babies, or young children. Though the tiger says he will never hurt anyone, the ranting about baby eating makes Keegan more then nervous. He will avoid parks, and daycare places. He even goes so far as to cross the street to avoid the hungry tiger's rantings about eating fat children.
past Keegan was born way up in Alberta, Canada. He hasn't really had a hard life. He was born to a loving family, he grew up with a dog, a nice house, and he was happy. It's easy to see how such a nice kid came of such an easy upbringing. He grew up next door to Tyler Coor. All through grade school. Then the worst thing happened. His partner in crime, the smokey to his bandit, moved away. Tyler moved to New York and Keegan was left alone. He was awkward without his companion. Through out the rest of middle school he was left to defend himself, and though he was tall the boy was far too nice to handle the bullies who began picking on him.
It went on for a good while. Keegan took it all with a lopsided smile and a shrug. He was teased about being an idiot because he let everything go so easily. He was just too nice a guy. Then something changed. He began hearing voices. At first he kept it to himself. People thought he was odd enough on his own. The worst part about it was every time the voice mentioned being hungry, he would suddenly be starving. So he started carrying snacks. Then it got odder. The voice started muttering about eating people, sometimes it would ask if it could eat his math teacher. The worst was the small kids. It would get dreaming as it mentioned how it would devourer the children. The very worst was the babies, and especially the plump ones. Suddenly the voice would go into a frenzy.
It was maddening. The final awakening happened his junior year at his Canadian high school. He was flirting with a girl and it turned out she had a boyfriend. The guy started a fight in the middle of school. It was this moment the Hungry tiger awakened. It burst from its human cage like a shot from a gun and the boy... well he changed. Needless to say a tiger that nearly filled the hallway sent everyone running. The hungry tiger was quite confused. Why were all the people running? This clearly wasn't oz. What was that screaming in his head? He squeezed through the door and out into the world. Honestly the city didn't know what to think as a huge tiger, with a green bow on its tail, ran through the city and right out of town.
By the time the city had mobilized the tiger was long gone into the wilderness. It was all over the news, and as a small note was an amber alert for Keegan. He was gone two days, or so the reports said. When he woke up he was naked, in the forest, and remembered everything. Well needless to say he started talking to the tiger. The hungry tiger introduced himself and politely asked to be returned to oz. ”I haven't eaten anyone you see. My conscious wouldn't allow it or I might eat you up from the inside. But that is what makes me a poor tiger.” It would say.
Well Keegan wasn't so sure what to think of the harmless tiger but it seemed he had no choice but to think that something was inside him. He decided this was too much like Calvin and Hobbs and simply began calling the tiger Hobbs. Poor keegan was picked up and returned home, after they gave him some clothes. He made up some story about kidnapping and even the kids at school who saw it didn't believe he had changed. So everything went back to normal, except people looked at him differently.
He quickly decided he had to get out of here. He decided to try for a private school. The only place he could think of was New York. If anyone would understand, and think his new crazy power was cool, it would be Tyler. So he applied and was accepted to Baum. He proposed it to his parents, who after some persuading agreed to let him go. So mid year he packed up and went off to Baum in New York.
presentKeegan has been given his room assignment and because of previous association he has been roomed up with Tyler. He is ready to see his old friend. How could he not be excited. What with having the largest tiger ever trapped inside him, and being back with the jay to his silent bob, he was going to turn a new page. So now all that was left was getting used to living in the big city.
Though he is so easy going and light hearted one thing that Keegan doesn't lack is courage. He smiles despite the bad times and keeps moving forward. This is the first time he has been away from his family but he is ready. Besides its hard to be alone with hobbs inside his head.

backstory The hungry tiger of Oz is a close friend of the Cowardly Lion. He is first met as a chariot puller with the cowardly lion for Ozma of Oz. His only wish is to eat a fat baby but his conscious will not let him. He often remarks how delicious people look, but he just can't bring himself to eat anyone. As such he will never eat a person. The hungry tiger gets his name because he is never full. No matter how much he eats he never gets full and will keep eating and eating. The only time he admitted to being full was at Ozma's banquet. Even that didn't last long.
