distinctive traits She has near-perfect skin. Spirit has never had acne in her life.
...personal*
personality Spirit has earned her middle name; she's just one of those types of people who never seem to break down. The girl is quite the optimist, which normally is not a good trait for her profession, but in her case she can see both outcomes and make decisions in order to get the right one. You'll always see the edges of her lips turned up, whether it be in a sweet smile or a sly smirk. You see the latter, and you probably know you got duped, though she'll be much too far away for you to do anything about it. And eventually, you'll find something is missing. Though, there is one thing that makes Ms. Lee more frustrated than anything, and that would be her asthma. She runs too much, she starts wheezing. Then the smile will dissipate into a straight face that's nearly a frown.
Spirit despises when people ask her if she needs help, when she's having an asthma attack or otherwise. She takes it as a personal insult, as if you think she's not capable of handling herself. It's not because she thinks highly of herself (which she does), it's just that she gravitates towards independence in any situation unless help is absolutely necessary. Then she'll request it when she needs it, so don't ask. Though she does like to have friends, they're merely for fun, and maybe to fall back on. Surprisingly she is a very good friend, always having answers for everything and giving great gifts. She's also good for witty comebacks and jokes because she's a very quick thinker.
Though she is sly and cunning, Spirit isn't a good student and has trouble sitting through class, let alone passing a test. The only reason she got out of high school was because she had a tutor who basically gave her all the answers so they could get hours. And she knows someone who knows someone that's on the board at the university, so they let her in. Of course, the girl knows how to do the stuff, she just has a problem with classrooms. The one thing Spirit did excel at was art class. She just loved art, though her teacher thought her crazy by her morbid and angry style.
past Her family wasn't exactly the most honorable in the city of St. Louis, but certainly not the least. For years, since Prohibition, her father's and mother's sides have both run crime families. They're relationship was an arranged marriage of the two; they never really loved each other, even after Laura Spirit was born. Her middle name was given because that was the name of the orignal family that Lucia De Luca was decended down from. Laura was the name of Joe Lee's mother. So, it was kind of destined for the baby to get into the crime business.
That destiny was first met in pre-teen years, when she started to shoplift from stores and never got caught. In later teen years she graduated into bigger things, like tricking people out of money. The family deemed her a con-man, a title that had normally gone to men in previous years. Women in the family previous had been more violent than cunning, so it came as a shock when Spirit admitted she didn't like being violent, and would never hurt someone unless she definately had to.
But Spirit was getting tired of working for her relatives, she would have much rather done her own thing. With them, she was getting mad all the time, and frustrated, feelings that could break a mission. So, with the full permission of her mother and father, she ran away. Well, not literally. She got money for a plane from a poor, gullible gas-station owner with a simple con she had mastered to perfection and caught a plane to New York. This was after she graduated high school, and she had not searched for a college. But her parents wouldn't allow her out of the city without a proper education, so they pulled old strings and after a few years she got into one.
present New York City is by far better than St. Louis for her. Though sometimes she misses her hometown, she's too captivated by the beauty of her current home to really be upset about it. She's getting along fine on her own, and makes a lot of friends. But she is having a few issues keeping her thief life from her other life, with clients and friends walking on the same streets, and all, but so far everything has gone perfectly fine and no trainwrecks have happened.
Spirit has gotten a lot of clients since she moved to New York, even before she really started 'advertising'. She supposes her family had something to do with that, but one can't be sure when it comes to them. There's been a few close calls when it came to the actual assignment but all has gone well. She's knows it will go well from now on, like it always has. Or at least, she thinks.
family
Lucia De Luca-Lee; A very assertive woman with a violent streak, it was a shock to everyone that Laura wasn't the same way as her mother when all was said and done. Overall, though, her mother was a very good influence for being bad, and a very good mother. She's back in St. Louis, but they still keep in touch.
Joe De Luca-Lee; His family wasn't as violent when they dealt with business, they used brains instead of brawn. Spirit took a lot from her father's side of the family more than her mothers, even in looks. He's back in St. Louis, but they still keep in touch.

backstory So there's this boy who watched the sheeo everyday. Watching sheep isn't a very interesting thing to do, so to entertain himself, he cried "Wolf!" so all the villagers would come with pitchforks and torches. When they got there he was all "jkjk" and they got mad and went home. this continued for several days until the villagers decided not to come anymore because the joke got old. Meanwhile, the wolf was watching, trying to get some dinner and avoid the angry mob. So he disguised himself as a sheep and waited. When the villagers stopped coming, he revealed himself to the boy, who in turn criwd "wolf!" The villagers thought he was joking so they stayed on their lazy butts while the boy got eaten and sheep were taken to-go.

It wasn't such a beautiful day for most of the people stuck out in the unexpected rain without so much as an umbrella in sight, but it was glorious for the girl who had just accomplished the first task that would decide whether or not she was capable of remaining a valuable member of her family. The flashdrive was secure in the inside pocket of her coat, away from the drops of water that were falling from the sky.
Lucia was the youngest of three sisters and two brothers, so it was hard for her growing up to prove herself worthy of a place. She was eighteen now, and ready for power. It was warm in the rain for her, and she realized her now stained-red shirt that was concealed beneath her long coat was keeping her that way; warm. It was an odd feeling, but she had learned from an early age that certain people needed to be sacrificed for the good of the family, so it was easy to forget.
She walked into her home, feeling proud and ready for her next assignment. But the smile drooped a little as she saw strangers in her home among her own family. They were easily picked out amongst her own because of their pale skin and auburn blonde hair. They all stared at her like they were expecting something. She looked at her parents, confused.
"Lucia, there's been a change of plans. Meet the Lees. We've decided to bring the families together."
Lucia held her own. "And how are we to do that?" They never combined families without some sort of ritual.
"That's where you come in. Meet Joe, your new fiancee."
Lucia looked at the man reffered to. He was around the same age as her and looked just as excited to be used as a contract.
