Leah is really smart. No, she doesn't have a lot of street smarts or common sense, but intelligent people never do, do they? Leah put a lot of emphasis on her schooling, because she wanted to be a marine biologist like her parents. She likes to read a lot, and you can catch her spouting out random bits of knowledge at times. Don't think she's the rude intelligent girl who smites all those who know less then her. Leah's too nice/shy for that.
CHEERFUL;
Leah always tries to be happy. Sure, she'll let herself be upset at times. It wouldn't be healthy to hold in all her negative emotions. She's naturally at a cheerful disposition, though, and likes to bring everyone around her joy.
SWEET;
This girl would never dream of hurting a fly. Ok, scratch that. She'd ghetto stomp a bug in a heart beat because they scare the living daylights out of her. Other then bugs, Leah tries to be really sweet to everyone, which causes her to be hurt a lot. Don't think she won't stand up for someone she loves, though.
HYPOCHONDRIAC;
Ah, Leah's downfall. Leah is constantly sneezing. She's never been able to help it, she just has a chronic case of them. However, when she gets hurt or thinks she's sick, she tends to blow it out of proportion. That papercut she just got? It might get infected with some flesh-eating virus. Her runny nose? It might be pneumonia.
past
Leah was born to Amelia Harold and Wyatt McCartney, two teenagers in over their heads. They loved their daughter more then their own lives, but the two of them knew they would never be able to give Leah the life they wanted to give her. They decided the best, selfless option would be to put her up for adoption, and a year into little Leah's life, Jimmy and Mahalia Carlson, a marine biologist and aquarium vet, took her in. The Carlsons kept Leah's first and middle names in respect of her true parents. It was a good fit; Jimmy and Mahalia had a sturdy home, job, and had already set up a college account for their future child. When they found out they were unable to have children, the Carlsons began saving as much money as they could and went on the adoption hunt. Their theory was that if they were going to raise someone else's baby as their own, they were going to provide as much as possible.
Leah had a happy childhood, growing up in the Florida Keys. She was a water baby at heart, so living on the ocean was perfect. Her parents, once she was old enough, would take her to aquariums where Mahalia was the vet, and Leah would get to feed all the animals and see them up close. Her sneezing began around age five, when Leah started to complain about a "short man" following her around. Jimmy was worried, but Mahalia cast it off as an imaginary friend. Every kid had one. After a while, the short man did become Leah's friend, and they would play with her toys and frequently sneeze together. However, he fanished once she entered middle school, because surely Leah was too old for an imaginary friend, right?
High school also went without a bump. Leah was a good and smart student, always first in her class. It wasn't something she tried to brag about, Leah just enjoyed school and had a deep desire to work with sea creatures like her parents did. The sneezing still occured frequently, but Leah's classmates had learned to get used to it, and cast it off as just "a cute quirk of Leah's". Then, when she was sixteen, the Carlsons sat Leah down and told her about her true parents. It took a few months for Leah to feel happy again, but after that she rebounded quickly. To Mahalia and Jimmy's surprise, Leah didn't have a desire to meet up with her biological parents. Her reasoning was "I don't have some hole I need to try and fill. I understand and respect what they did for me, but you are my parents, and always will be." The rest of high school was uneventful.

Leah really wanted to become a marine biologist. She also didn't want to leave Florida, but scholarships were sketchy. The public school system in the Keys was never the greatest, so most of the schools she applied to didn't want to take her. Thankfully, Florida State decided to take her after she applied twice, and Leah got her marine biology degree, working twice as hard to complete it early.
Once she was out, Leah took the best job availabe...in New York. She wasn't thrilled about the drastic change in climate, or being away from her parents, but Leah gratefully accepted it. She's now working as a marine biologist at a local research center and just living her life.
