Victoria has no idea why she had these clothes and why she decided to put them on, but here she was walking out the door of her dorm on a Friday night making heads turn. She put a smile on her face and continued to walk down the sidewalk having no idea what her plans were. That was until she nearly slipped and fell on her butt from some God forsaken piece of paper. Well… the fact that she was wearing heels didn’t help either.
“Chto za huy? What is this?” she kicked the death trap and it turned over to reveal an ad for Down the Rabbit Hole. She read it further and saw that is was a dance club that was for 21 and up. Instantly, Victoria turned around and ran back up to her dorm. With a little bit of make up, she could easily pass for 21. Without thinking, Victoria snapped open her phone and texted Clarissa. “Hey, wanna go clubbing? I’m bored as hell. >.< 10:32 P.M.”Not waiting for an answer, Victoria made up her face and pulled on some black sheer leggings. She looked at herself in the mirror and froze.
Wait, What am I doing?
The whole euphoria of getting dressed up and dancing the night away wasn’t the usual Victoria. The usual Victoria would rather be mistaken for a boy than wear a skirt this short. What was with her? Shopping and watching chick flicks and now this? What was she trying to kill her friends the next time they saw her? Was this really her or some rebellious stage that she somehow got sucked into. Before she could think about changing her phone buzzed again and she was running down to the street again to meet Clarissa.

Down The Rabbit Hole was a trashy sort of place that made Bashful sick to his stomach. Still, this was his only chance and there hadn’t been time to go searching for better clubs. He’d dressed Clarissa up in her best. Well, her club best. Her best was reserved for fancy outings and certainly not to clubs where she’d be meeting sleazy guys. She was going to hate him for this. Still, it wasn’t his fault. Clarissa had made the mistake of playing Truth or Dare with him. Then, she’d made the even bigger mistake of saying ‘dare.’ So, here they were at Down The Rabbit Hole. Clarissa was sulking in the back of her mind, regretting her decisions. He’d told her it was too late now and he’d made her promise to not complain the entire time. Not that she would have; Clarissa was too upset to even say a word.
With impeccable timing, Clarissa’s friend Victoria had sent a text. Bashful had been just as surprised as Clarissa at the request to go clubbing. Victoria had never seemed the clubbing type, but neither was Clarissa. Still, it was perfect. Bashful had gotten a shopping spree out of the way earlier that day and had been trying to figure out how to spend his last few hours in control of Clarissa’s body. So, he’d texted back agreeing whole-heartedly to go clubbing. It was easy making Clarissa look like she was twenty-one. It just took some heels, a revealing dress, and make-up.
As tacky as this club was, Bashful was glad to be out and not cooped up in the dorm room like they were most nights. Victoria and Clarissa had gotten into the club without trouble. Bashful exuded confidence and he assumed this is why it was so simple. It didn’t matter how they got in. It was the fact that they were there. Linking arms with Victoria, Bashful led the way to the bar. Leaning in close so Victoria would hear, Bashful started up a conversation. “Bored enough to go clubbing, huh?”
notes; i hope this is alright. didn't mean to do any god-moding!

There was something strange going on Clarissa, Victoria thought. First when she answered the text there was no question asking “You think that’s a good idea Victoria?” or “Isn’t it kinda late?”. Clarissa just agreed then arrived in a really cute outfit looking pretty excited and… confident? Victoria did a double-take. How long had it been since she had seen Clarissa? Victoria was pretty sure that Clarissa was a shy but kind person who tended to get embarrassed by anything out of her comfort zone the last time she saw her. Not that Victoria minded. Clair was an amazing friend and though she had tried, Victoria knew that Clarissa was the only person who could break out of her shell.
And it seemed she had. The change slightly irritated Victoria. She couldn’t figure out why. Maybe it was because she was never informed. You know maybe a phone call saying “Guess what? I just became uber confident!” ? Or maybe it was just weird to her. Clarissa always was the shy girl in Victoria’s group of friends. It was hard to she her as anything else. Seeing confidence radiate from her was so strange. Especially in a crowded club in the middle of New York City. She could at least fidget or something.
“Bored enough to go clubbing, huh?”
“Yea…” Victoria answered without thinking. She backed up a little and decided enough was enough.
“Okay wait, who are you and what have you done with Clarissa?” Victoria started after ordering a soda. “I mean you’re all… different and confident. Like, not you. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to see you but why the sudden change? I mean… you aren’t doing this for a boy are you?” she ranted.

Clarissa laughed. Oh, Victoria was so darling. Silly girl. Bashful had figured that everybody knew of Clarissa’s change by now. Oh well. Bashful always found it amusing, watching other’s reactions to her new attitude. Once they’d been seated at the bar, Bashful sat up straighter and appraised the club. Loud music, flashing lights, bodies mingling together. The crowd on the dance floor moved to a song without lyrics, hardly actually dancing so much as grinding against each other. Bashful found it quite disgusting and looked away, back to Victoria. She’d just ordered a soda. Clarissa called the bartender back over to them and, smiling sweetly, said: “I’d like a Virgin Strawberry Margarita.”
Now then, to address Victoria’s question. He could tell the truth. Oh, that would be a riot. Clarissa would hate him forever, though. “I’m surprised you didn’t notice sooner, dear.” Oh, wait. Bashful used those little pet names, not Clarissa. The drink was set by her hand and Bashful took it, taking a sip. Drinks could be delicious without alcohol. He’d never understand Clarissa’s roommate. It seemed like that Vivian girl was always wasted. “I am Clarissa, really. Just… well, I said dare in a game of Truth or Dare and now here we are.” Ahh, telling the truth without being a liar. It was one of those little things that could be appreciated in life. A boy? Well, there was that new Keegan fellow. Bashful wasn’t quite sure what was going on with him and Clarissa, if there was anything going on. (Clarissa protested quite loudly on this, insisting nothing was going on, but Bashful could feel her embarrassment).
“No, not for a boy. Change is good, Victoria! I guess I just realized that having such a crippling fear of socializing was getting me nowhere in life.” Clarissa shrugged as if it weren’t that big a deal, taking another sip of the Margarita.

Victoria just sat there. This was INSANE! She couldn’t take it in. Everything about Clarissa was different somehow. Really, she looked like a whole new person. Like there was somebody else in that head of hers. Although Victoria had been feeling like someone else was ruling her mind too. Just last week she went out and bought girly clothing. She never actually went shopping. She’d just look at all the stuff and by a pretzel while all of her friends spent their savings on overpriced clothing. But now, her closet had skirts, and dresses. What was going on with her? More importantly, what was going on with Clarissa?
Had she just called Victoria dear? Clarissa hated petnames. She’d get so mad when Victoria called her Clairbear. But “dear” that seemed even worse. Victoria continued to listen to all of this. Truth or Dare. Since when did Clarissa play Truth or Dare?!? This was all so crazy. This wasn’t happening. Victoria shook her head in disbelief.
“I don’t believe you. Like, seriously right now, I’d believe alien abduction more. People change, I’ll give you that but… I’ve been trying to get you to be less shy for years and you’ve just started to consider it now? And in less than a month?” Maybe Clarissa had an alter ego or a twin or maybe she… no that wouldn’t happen. She was pretty naïve though. And with all that crippling fear and stuff… Victoria moved in closer and sipped her soda. She looked at Clarissa and in all seriousness asked “You aren’t high are you?”

It wasn’t the drink because it was non-alcoholic, but something was giving Clarissa a buzz. Perhaps it was just the energy of the club or the taste of her Margarita or the hilarity of watching Victoria freak out. Of course, none of these things affected Clarissa so much as they did Bashful. She was still moping in the back of her mind, regretting her boldness to say ‘dare.’ Victoria and her would have to get out on the dance floor soon. Maybe a song that didn’t lead to the monstrosity that was happening would play soon. Something simple and easy to move to, but without the touching of somebody you didn’t know. Clarissa shuddered. Uck.
Alien abduction, hmm? Interesting. That would certainly be scarier than a game of Truth or Dare. There were some pretty freaky TV shows about aliens and UFO’s and abductions. Clarissa had made Bashful stop watching them because they scared her. Hmm… maybe Victoria would feel better if she got some credit. Of course, it had been all Bashful. Not even Becky had made that big a change on Clarissa’s personality. While the trips to the mall and the fancy surprise dinners had not helped at all, in fact. They’d just made Clarissa stressed and nervous. “It is partially thanks to you, of course!” Clarissa exclaimed, as if surprised that Victoria didn’t know this. “You were subtle about it, which helped. A lot.” Clarissa left out the bit about crazy Becky.
Taking another sip of the Margarita, Clarissa nearly did a spit take. “High?” she laughed. “No, no. Definitely not.”

“Well, I guess that’s good. A sudden personality change is better than becoming a pothead. I still can’t believe it though. I mean you’re so different. I’m glad I helped a little. It was about time you came out of your shell,” Victoria said matter of factly. She took another sip of her soda and wondered how the hell she would ever get used to the new Clarissa. For as long as Victoria had known Clarissa, she was shy. I guess this proved that people could change. Now if only her dad could.
Struggling with acceptance, she debated faking sick and going home. Victoria liked to dance but the whole reason she brought Clarissa here was to break her out of her shell. Now that she wasn’t shy anymore… what was Victoria going to do? ”Dance and have fun, stupid!” a voice she could only assume to be her conscious said. Victoria zoned out a bit and then smiled. It was a good idea but would Clarissa actually dance? “Hey,” she said after a new song came on. Victoria slid down from the stool and motioned towards the dance floor. “Does the new Clarissa dance? I mean, I came here to dance so… let’s!” She picked a spot with the least druggie looking group and let the song take her. The flashing lights of the club slightly blinded her but she didn’t let it ruin her time. Victoria danced to the music and pretended no one was watching. She was actually a good dancer but never went out. Her dad thought clubbing was for harlots. Being a harlot didn’t seem so bad.

Clarissa smiled, tilting her glass back and finishing it in one long draw. Yup. This was a good idea. The buzz she'd been feeling earlier was intensified now and she wanted, no needed, to move. It was crazy how just the atmosphere of a place could be so intoxicating. Clarissa grinned at Victoria, glad that she'd finally given into the personality change. It had been a good idea, telling her it was sort of thanks to her. There was nothing wrong with a little white lie. "It was definitely about time. How about you?" Clarissa leaned closer, peering at her friend. "Have you been coming out of you shell?"
Before Clarissa could get an answer, Victoria was out of her seat and headed towards the dance floor. Clarissa laughed and followed quickly, not wanting to lose her friend. The last thing she wanted was to get lost in this club, alone. They definitely had to stick together, what with being underage and probably a little naive. Clarissa's hand latched around Victoria's wrist so as not to lose her as the girl led the way through the crowd. Once she'd found a spot that worked (it really did; there weren't very many creeps hanging about here), Clarissa leaned close to answer Victoria's question. "She definitely does dance!" It was shouted but it had to be to be heard over the music.
Clarissa moved to the beat, letting the music take her. It wasn't that she was a very good dancer. Especially as the only dance class she'd taken was ballroom dancing and... well, this certainly wasn't ballroom dancing. Clarissa grabbed Victoria's hand and twirled the girl, laughing. Much better than staying home.
notes; sorry it's kind of terrible D;

"It was definitely about time. How about you? Have you been coming out of you shell?"
Victoria winced. Of course the subject would change to her. Victoria looked down at her clothes. She almost forgot she was wearing something totally not like her. Almost. It’s not like she was prancing around in a tutu but it still was weird to her. Victoria wiggled in her chair a bit. She was never one to get uncomfortable but this was so awkward. Without giving it a second thought, she hoped down and walked out onto the dance floor. Was she coming out of her shell per say? She always loved dancing but mostly in cargo pants and a t-shirt. Dancing in skinny jeans proved to be a bit tougher. It didn’t bug her much though; Victoria liked a challenge.
"She definitely does dance!"
“Let’s dance then!” Victoria shouted back. She took Clarissa hands and started dancing. Really this is the most fun she’s had in a while. The lights were jumping across the floor and the music was playing on full volume. Victoria had no idea what the song was but the bass had a nice rhythm that she could dance to. Clarissa twirled her around and she couldn’t help but laugh. The atomsphere of the club was getting to her big time. Her idea was WAY more successful than she thought it would be. Victoria could learn to like the new Clarissa. The song ended and another high volume song came on. Victoria danced on.
