Dear Sally,
I know this probably sounds stupid but it’s been bugging me none the less.
There’s a guy new to our school; he’s a year older than me but doing a second grade 12 year so we’re sorta in the same grade.
I spend a lot of time with him afterschool (drama) and out of school, like for the past 3 Fridays he’s gotten a group together to hang out (swiss chalet and a movie, drive in, pizza and a movie night) and then on the weekend I spent the whole day with him. We were doing a tour and then got sidetracked by his aunt (long story) but anyways. He’s really nice and romantic and gentleman-like (when he wants to be) and I'm rambling.
And naturally stupid me has gotten a crush on him. Which wouldn’t really be an issue except for I'm painfully shy and probably would never say anything to him about it anyways but the thing is he was dating my friend and they broke up a few weeks ago. It wasn’t bad or anything, in fact they’re great friends now. One of my close friends knows I like him but she’s so kind of course she’s only says “aww that’s cute, no of course she wouldn’t care” and so on. But it’s just that it somehow it feels taboo, like me having a crush on her ex is crossing some invisible line.
Do you have any advice?
