"You're staying here tonight."
Rhys looked down at his small pink-haired girlfriend (were they really boyfriend and girlfriend now or were they still in the 'talking' phase?) and grinned at the expression on her face. They had just gotten into his place after a long dinner, (Indian food this time, and boy, could Adeen put it away!) and Rhys had been anxious to show Adeen his flat.
Or, more specifically, the room he'd had made up for her in his flat. He was romantic like that.
So he'd put his car through its paces to get here in a rush, had hustled his pink beauty into the elevator, shivvied her into his flat and closed the door behind them, and then dropped the bomb.
She really was quite cute.
"Now, before you start with all your arguments, I just have to say one thing," he said, taking her jacket and hanging it next to his. "Don't say anything till you've had a good look around the place." he took the bags of takeout from her hands and headed towards the massive kitchen. "We can have a sleepover, like little kids. Stay up all night watching scary movies and making a mess in the kitchen, you know? Fun."
And he dearly hoped she would see it that way. Rhys had about as much experience with girls and dating as a socially awkward middle-schooler, but was trying very heard to not let it show. Maybe this sleepover thing had been a bad idea. he didn't know, and he wasn't about to find out, either. Besides, there were only so many things that could go wrong. For all possibilities, Candace was on call.
He should really give that woman a raise.

"Wait---what?!" Were the first words out of Adeen's mouth. Adeen almost immediatly wondered if it would be too dramatic if she went flying out the window. "I don't have my clothes, or my toothbrush, or--" she cut herself off super fast. She didn't have her fix. And she sure as hell couldn't crack open a cigarette pack and smoke that around Rhys. Not to mention, sensing her panic--the purse in her hand fluttered. Not enough to be visible, but she could feel the thumping of her favorite companion inside of her bag. Mentally, she got several images slamming into her mind. Large red X's, buzzer sounds, and a picture of Carpet with his top tassles crossed, the lower ones tapping the floor impatiently. Carpet wanted Adeen to say no, that is was a bad idea. "Shouldn't I...ahm," she turned sideways just a little bit, gesturing at the door, "I mean at least go home and pick up my clothes, and stuff?" Drop Carpet off? Try and get her fix for the night? She didn't add that verbally, but it weighed heavily on her mind. "I'm not running away, I swear." Her long fingers rested on Rhys' arm, so he didn't panic that she was trying to run away from him. "I'm just not prepared you know like...sleepover wise. I don't want to wake up with moose-breath."Notes:Outfit will be determined latuh. ;D

That stupid grin just wouldn't leave his face. Rhys looked down at the short woman, feigning concern while she all the possible reason she should leave, at least for a little bit. When she was done, he bent a little at the waist and picked her up.
"But darling, I've taken care of everything!"
He swept through the living room, down the hallways towards the bedrooms and his massive study. humming a cheesy tune all the while. "You didn't think I hadn't though this through, did you? Silly bunny, I'm a planner!" He winked at her. "I've had this thing planned out three weeks from Sunday."
The first door on the right hand side of the corridor was the linen close, but the next door was the spare bedroom that until yesterday had contained only a bed and a pile of shirts he was too lazy to iron. Today though, it was outfitted for a queen. Or a princess. A pink princess.
He opened the door and swung Adeen gently to the floor. Now came the kind of hard part. If she hated it, he would have to hire Candace again to redecorate the entire thing. "What do you think?" He asked, suddenly nervous. His hands found the pockets of his lazy jeans. "I took cues from your outfits, hence the abundance of that giant headed white cat whose name I can't remember. There are towels and toiletry-like things in there," he pointed to a door next to the open bathroom door. "There's clothes in the closet." Here he grinned. "That's why I was peeking into your shirts and stuff last week. You thought I was just being a perv, didn't you?"
He bent and kissed the top of her head, before scooting back to lean against the door jamb. "Go ahead, take a minute to look around. I'll be here."

Woah, woah, WOAH. Adeen yelped when Rhys picked her up—she was close to her height, so trying to pick her up could be a bit awkward. Then again, she was rail thin, due to…unmentioned habits, and therefore could be quite light. The bag in her hand fluttered again, thinking that Adeen was flying and wanted to take part too.
“I…three weeks?” Adeen stared at him with large brown eyes, then settled on her feet when he placed her down. It was very..pink. And covered in Hello Kitty. She blinked her brown eyes a few time, then smiled up at Rhys, “I love it.” She grinned at him, reaching out to give his hand a squeeze. Just wait until Rhys saw her place---he would probably crap himself. Unlike her—her apartment didn’t have much pink at all. The entire apartment was themed Arabian and Indian. Rugs, warm tones, rich looking, despite the exterior of the run down apartments.
“Of course I did, I mean why would you go through all my stuff. You definitely couldn’t fit in my clothes.” She teased, watching him lean against the door frame. She nodded, her face also bright pink. She was getting mental images of an increasingly pissed off Carpet, with the rumbling in her purse to go along with it. “Alright, I’m gonna…go ahead and change into something more comfortable then.”

Rhys grinned, reaching for the knob to put the door closed as he left. "You do that, and I'll go do the same. You should pick something loose fitting, just a suggestion. I think you're going to like what I have planned first."
That little tantalizing bit of intrigued dropped, Rhys scurried to his bedroom, stripping the minute he was through the door. He figured he had a solid ten minutes to get dressed and make sure everything and everyone was in position. There was no room for failure tonight. If anything went wrong, even the slightest detail, heads would roll.
He snagged a walkie talkie from his dresser as he walked into his closet, fingering a pair of sweats Candace had set out for him earlier. "Gingernut to Ringmaster. Come in, over."
Static sounded from the little box in his hand, and then there was a voice. "Copy that, Gingernut. Operation Heartstopper is a go. Ringmaster requesting instructions, over."
The grin on his face threatened to break all previous records, but Rhys didn't care. Tugging a shirt from a nearby hanger, he said "Standby, Ringmaster. The Princess will be out in five, over."
This was going to be good.

Panic. It was the first feeling she felt once he closed the door. She gasped, and stumbled over to the bed, almost tripping over her heels, and ripped her bag open. Carpet darted out, and pulled, and flicked at her hair, shakign his tassles as though she were being scolded.
"I'm sorry! Shh, just...stay hidden." She whispered, before tossing her belongings from her purse, out onto the bed. Even though this was Rhys, she felt somewhat trapped. She found it, grasping a tiny plastic bag in her boney fist, her chest rising and falling quickly. She glanced at the door, then flew straight into the bathroom, locking the door behind her.
Adeen fumbled around the bathroom, before finding a shaving razor. Carefully, she broke it apart, sliding one of the tiny blades out, and using the sharpened edge to grind the white powder that was now in a messy line across the bathroom counter. Her hands shook as she used the blade to press it in a fine, smooth line. She rummaged again, finding an older fashion magazine, before tearing out a page and ripping it in half with panicked fingers, and rolled it. She pressed her finger against a nostril, and the makeshift straw against the other as she did her deed.
Once she was finished, she sat up, looking a little startled in the mirror. Washed out, pale, and now her nose was pink. She sniffed, rubbing at her nose, dropping the magazine shreds into the trash. Somewhat calmer now, she moved out of the bathroom, and opened the drawers. She pulled out a pair of grey female boxer shorts, with pink sports-style numbers on them, and a loose black top, and tugged them on. Though the clothes were her size, they seemed to hang loosely off of her, before she decided against the boxer shorts, and tugged on a pair of sweatpants instead. She sat on the edge of her bed, her forehead in her hand, taking calm breaths.
Carpet flew against her cheek, hugging her face. Her hands cradled the miniature rug against her face. "Stay hidden. I don't think I can explain you to Rhys yet." She murmurs, kissing the soft, plus rug affectionately, before it zoomed off and hid on the ceiling fan. Doing her best to keep from wobbling, she carefully exited out of the bedroom. "Rhys?"

Hearing his name being called, Rhys popped out of bed adn dashed into the hallway, nearly barreling over Adeen, who sort of looked a little pale.
"You alright, Deeny? You look a bit...wobbly..." It concerned him to see her like this, but then, like last time, horrible thoughts were probably running through her head. Like if he was some mad serial killer, or if she was really safe alone in his flat with him. It eased his mind a bit, and Rhys grinned. "Everything is going to be fine, you'll see. Now onto your surprise!"
He grabbed her hand, gently, because she really was rather thin, and bounced down the hall. He really was too excited about this, but it was hard not to be. He was about to have a whole lot of fun with the woman he loved. There was no better reason to be excited.
The end of the hallway opened up into a wide circular room with a rather large sunroof. Attached to said sunroof, as a stepladder, up which Rhys prodded his pink-locked beauty. Out on the roof, or the glass bit of it, anyway, Rhys sat, beaming. He had been putting this together for weeks, working Candace into a frothing rage as he neglected his work. There, set up behind his building as a bungee jumping rig, all complete with safety crap and whatnot. Rhys wasn't too concerned about all that. He'd had the thing set up for a week, and had all eight of the technicians and engineers who worked on it double check every area of the thing every day, just to make sure it was structurally sound. If anything happened here tonight, heads would roll.
"I remember you saying you loved heights once." He gazed down at Adeen, taking in her wide eyes. "I hope it's not too much over the top."

"Huh? Wobbly? No, no, I'm totally okay." She grinned, then giggled, wrinkling her nose to disguise a sniff. "Just happy, happy as can be!" Adeen chirped, her fingers lacing with Rhys'. She followed after him, the world shaking, and swaying around her. She felt slow, and fast at the same time. She could hear the blood rushing in her ears, and her heart thrumming impossibly fast in her chest. Adeen could feel the muscles in her lungs, and all the way down as the air filled her. It was bizzare...entralling..exciting, relieving.
That's when she saw the bungee set, and that drop to the ground seemed a lot further than what it was. She stumbled back for a moment, actually dropping to the ground, straight on her bum, and blinked several times rapidly. "Sorry, woah...that was totally dizzy-making." She put her hand against her face, trying to hold her head still from spinning off her shoulders. She took a deep breath--she wasn't at home. She wasn't alone. She had to be normal Adeen, normal, sober Adeen. She pushed herself back to her feet, "Yeah, I love heights." In her own, honest opinion. It was a little bit over the top, but she knew how Rhys could be. And if she turned down something that looked like this much work--she had a feeling he'd be totally heart broken.
Adeen licked her teeth..boy that felt weird. She held her hand out, as though she asking for a handshake, before changing her mind, and grabbing Rhys by his shirt, and tugging him in, a wide grin on her face. "Tell you what...I will only do this, if I can show you a real ride." She raised her brows really fast. How awesome would Rhys' face be when she called a carpet? Or even better---gave him the perfect view of New York. Suddenly--Carpet came into her mind, all but spazzing the hell out. "Well, later." She corrected, trying to put an end to the headache the personification was causing in he rmind, "I mean I'll show you the ride later. It's...I'd have to get it ready. And stuff, but you'll like it. Deal?"

Rhys frowned. Adeen really didn't look too good. But she seemed chipper enough, yanking him around by his clothing and whatnot. If she had strength enough for that, surely she was good enough for -
"A r-ride?" His eyes were probably as wide around as saucers, but Rhys was beyond caring. Did she seriously mean what he though she meant? Because Rhys certainly hoped she meant what he thought she meant. Though he never suspected she'd come right out with it, so boldly. But then, he had heard rumors that the quiet ones were the wild ones, the ones you had to look for. He eyed Adeen speculatively, then blushed.
"Erm, ok, I guess." His eyes shifted around quickly, checking to see if anyone else had caught their little outburst. No one was near enough to hear, and Rhys grinned, some weird left over shyness from high school taking him over. "Erm, you wanna go try out the rig now, maybe? The guys have got it all set up, and you know, the quicker we're done here.........." Rhys blushed, and couldn't finish. How lame was that? He'd been dating this woman for how long now, and couldn't even causally mention some sex that may or may not happen in the near future.
Pathetic.
"Maybe I should go first? That way you can take a minute to like, compose yourself?" He wavered a moment, not sure if she was going to topple over again, before leading her over to where a technician was waiting to strap them in. "You stand back, alright. I don't want you dropping off the edge, or something."
Five minutes later, Rhys had jumped off the edge of the building, free falling through the air with nothing but a giant elastic band securing him to anything stable. He grinned, feeling the adrenaline sweep through his body. This night almost couldn't get any better.
Almost.

Adeen's thin, dark brows furrowed over her brown eyes. What the hell was Rhys acting all nervous about? She glanced at the rig, and licked the inside of her cheek, hooking her thumbs on the waistband of her sweatpants.
"Sure. I can gauge how loud you'll scream." She teased. Her legs burning witht he desire to leap off the building right away, and just feel the wind around her. Even more desireable, jump off with Rhys. Then again--he'd probably completely freak out and panic if she just suddenly fell off the building while he was in the rig.
While he jumped, her hand pressed against her lips, fighting back the giggles at the idea of how funny his expression would be if just that happened. She dropped to her knees, crawling near the rig to peer over, and watch Rhys speed towards the ground. Part of her felt nervous--Rhys couldn't fly. So if that large rubber band snapped, it'd be very ugly. One of the technicians had her by the upper arm, making sure she didn't fall off the building while she peered over.
She yanked her thin arm away, giving a little hop, while clapping her hands, "Good job, Rhys!"

Laughter bubbled up from his stomach as the band snapped taut, jerking him roughly in the air before he began to bounce with the elasticity. He really didn't know why he hadn't done this sooner. Renting a bungee-jumping kit was the best idea he'd had in a while. Rhys looked up, eyes locking on the pale face staring down at him, pink hair blowing in the breeze. Something vaguely sheerful floated through the air to meet him, and Rhys grinned, waving an arm lazily.
My, but that was tiring.
Still, he wouldn't give up just yet. As the team above worked on getting him back on solid ground, Rhys' thoughts turned to Adeen, how he was going to get her into this rig, and how he was going to pull off tonight.

Adeen grinned at him, watching him bounce, waving back at him. If he only knew how wonderful it was to fall without the rubberbands holding in place. She couldn't wait to show him Carpet one day, show him flying. Show him how amazing it was. She moved in while the team settled Rhys, and undid him from the rig.
A teammate took her hand and guided her foward, hooking her thin frame into the harness. When they gave her a pat on the shoulder, she took a few steps foward, and crashed her lips against Rhys', her fingers grasping his arms tightly, before she jerked away, and almost ran backwards. And in one fluid movement, she dove off the side of the building backwards.
There was that familiar silene again. Nothing but the sound rushing her ears. She almost reached for that magic deep within, that would take her soaring to the sky. But how would that look? So she let gravity take control. Her body slung back upwards when the rubberband reached it's limit. her body remained rigid, her head tilted, calmly watching the ground bounce back and forth in her view. She almost wanted to touch it, her fingers stretching out reaching for the ground that was much too far away.
Her body relaxed when she felt the bounces stop, and her body being lifted back up towards the roof. It was a slow haul, coming back up. And part of her just wanted to fly back up. It was so, so hard to not give into instinct.

She really, really liked heights.
Rhys watched, still stunned from the quick, bruising kiss, as Adeen hopped backwards and sailed over the edge of the building. For a split second his brain forgot the very secure length of elastic cord securing her to the rig, and his heart raced with fiery panic as she fell as if in slow motion, her body arcing backwards gracefully and then disappearing from sight.
And then, before he remembered how to breathe again, she was back, crew members helping her onto the platform, her face flushed and excited looking. Rhys had grinned, relief and adrenalin rushing through him, and had staggered forward to be strapped in to jump again.
It was past midnight when he finally called the fun to a halt. They'd taken turns jumping over, even going together a few of the last times, and Rhys was beyond elated. Thoughhis legs were shaky and he felt as if he were permanently connected to a bungey cord, he couldn't deny that he felt as if he were flying. Adeen was incredible. Being with her was certainly his new favorite pasttime.
He stumbled carefully down the stairs, aware that Adeen was less steady on her feet behind him. Now that the mindless fun was over Rhys found he was sort of anxious about the ...other mindless fun that had been tentatively scheduled. He'd never actually been with anyone, his experience limited to ...solo experimentation back when he was a teen. Kicking Gingey's into high gear and rapid expansion had consumed him so that he hadn't spared a thought for anything but business, and now that he was to a point where he was about to engage in adult recreational activities he wished, silently and fervently to himself, that he had spared just a little time to gain some experience.
At the end of the stairway he reached for her hand, absently rubbing it in his larger one as he led the way to his bedroom. Bedrooms made sense. Right? He shook himself, ignoring the butterflies in his stomach, turning to give Adeen a nervous smile. "This is my room. Sorry it's a mess."
It wasn't really, but woman were finicky about these things, weren't they? If she thought he was a pig would she leave him? Rhys gulped, pushing these thoughts from his head. He led the way over to the bed, deciding against turning on the lights as they'd turned themselves off after five minutes had passed with no movement in the room. Sitting down, he took both her hands in his, kissing the backs softly before pressing trailing kisses to her palms. "I may not have much experience with this," he murmured, meeting her eyes in the light afforded by the large windows off to the side, "but I promise to do my best in this. For you."
And then, he proceeded to kiss his way up. Past wrists and forearms, soft mounds of flesh and then hitting skin, marveling at the softness she was, even if parts of her were a bit thin. In his slightly foggy mind he decided that he'd work on that. He gently maneuvered her shirt till it was rolled up in his hands, and then pulled it over Adeen's head. Women had this obsession with being thin, but Rhys would show Adeen he loved her for her, and didn't care what her body looked like.
Even if her skin was incredible in the light spilling in from the windows.
All thought died away as he stared, unable to help himself, at the way her skin rose and fell over the different parts of her body, before pulling her down to him and pressing their lips together. Sparks danced along his skin and behind his eyes, and in moments Rhys was lost.

Adeen had mastered the trick of flying, while still strapped to the cords. It ment flying just a little faster, and making the bungee jump just a little higher. But it still, felt great, normal even. Adeen smiled absently when she was pulled out of the rig again for the last time, stumbling behind Rhys.
Where was he going? The room? She tilted her head slightly, and bit down on her lower lip while he led her towards the bed. She stared at him in the dark, the touch of his lips on her skin lighting her up like fire. Each kiss had a memory on her skin, and drew a small gasp from her when he kissed up higher. The cocaine flooding her system was causing her body to be on system overload.
Uncomfortable under his gaze, she was aware she was too pale, too thin. In her own mind, she felt like she looked gaunt, and not even there. But it didn't seem to distract Rhys what so ever when he pulled her down with the taste of kisses. And as she fell, she felt another surge of the rush from the drug, and every memory and thought left her mind while she drifted into the darkness.
When she collapsed next to Rhys afterwards--she couldn't remember anything she had said during the fact. She could only remember how it felt, the emotion she thought she felt. Her mind exhausted from the day's events, she curled her arm around Rhys, and fitted herself into his side. She issues a soft, content sigh, while her breathing evened out, sending her into a dreamless sleep.
