...basics*
name Marley Laurell Carson
nickname Marls. Usually only used when someone's exasperated with her.
age 19
gender Female
grade Not in school
hometown New York, New York
sexuality Heterosexual, with a Bi-Curious tendency.
personification The DoDo Bird
status Dormant
face claim Billie Piper
...appearance*
hair color Blonde, badly bleached. She's often forgetful on touching up her roots.
eye color Brown
build Boyish. Not too many curves, and her chest can easily be mistakened as close to flat. She also has broad shoulders, and falls to the short side, so at times she can look a bit stocky.
height 5 foot even
clothing style She usually wears clothes that are a bit too small for her. Jeans that are just on the side of too tight, shirts that ride up a bit, and cling too tight also. She doesn't put too much effort into dressing herself, and so she tries to keep it pretty casual. She likes nice dresses in lighter shades, if anyone can get her to focus long enough on one thing.
distinctive traits If you ask her, she'll tell you that she thinks she looks funny because her upper lip and lower lip are about the same thickness and size, and it makes her think she has fish-lips. In reality, when she's not smiling, it just looks like she's perpetually pouting.

personality
Dim at best. Marley isn't the brightest tool in the box. Okay, that was an exaggeration. Marley is the one crayon in the box you never use because it has no place in the brilliantly colored picture you're making. You would probably use the brown before using that crayon. That crayon is Marley. She dropped out of high school, because there was no way on god's earth she was going to be able to get through those classes. And she often doesn't get jokes right away, and will probably laugh at them a little while later, when the time is gone and past.
Simple. Marley doesn't like the complexity of things. She prefers to keep them simple and easy. Long questions, or logical questions often make her stare with her mouth hanging open. But she knows she's like this, because she'll just shake her head and start yammering on about something completely different. Even though she likes simple things, she's prone to strokes of intelligence, or will sometimes speak in riddles.
Warm hearted. Marley tries to see the best in everyone, even if they've hurt her. Naive, some call it. But she's been known to give people who've wronged her chance after chance, after chance. She's gullible, and usually believes what people tell her, because she doesn't want to believe that people are capable of lying just because. Marley likes to have the 'everyone gets a gold star' mindframe, because just like she doesn't like when someone makes her feel bad--she doesn't ever want to make anyone else feel bad. Sometimes that's not entirely appropriate, but she genuinely doesn't understand.
Random. Marley is Gnarley. Marley likes Harley's. Marley is not Karley. She's a random girl, and nonsensical. Things she says may not always have a place in the conversations, and she almost never has a brain-to-mouth filter. Having a hard time thinking inside of her head (she says it's too loud in there), she'll often voice whatever thought pops into her head. She also changes subjects rapidly, once bored with the former topic, or if someone seems to be disturbed by the previous subject.
past
Marley Laurell Carson is the youngest of three girls. And by far, the most babied. However, this didn't come about simply because she was the youngest. It came about when her parents noticed that Marley wasn't developing like her older sisters. The older two were average on their development, walking and talking at the average age. Only, Marley was severely delayed. This caused concern in the parents, and throughout her young childhood she was carted back and forth between doctors, while they tried to find out what was wrong. It was deemed that Marley was mentally retarded, but she had a mild case. She would be able to function in society as a normal person--she just may require small amounts of assistance throughout her life.
It still never stopped some people from being cruel to her growing up. She had to go to the "special" classes, they called them. And compared to her classmates, it was a little frustrating to be lumped in with them. But that's when she learned she was one of the lucky ones, and gained her positive outlook. As a higher capacity student in those classes, she made she that she helped the other students, and made sure that they all felt accomplished.
When Marley turned eighteen, it was discovered that her father had Chronic Leukemia, and was only given a short amount of time. Before anyone could process what they had been told, Mr. Andrew Lindell Carson passed away. The entire family was greiving the loss of the father and husband, when the Carson girl's mother fell ill as well, and passed within a few months span of her husband. The loss of both parents tore the Carson girls apart. The two eldest fought, and when the youngest tried to fix things with them, they both turned on her in hurt and anger.
present
Marley was left in the cold, so to speak. Her eldest sisters split, and went their seperate ways, both fleeing New York to escape the death of their parents that hit so close to home. With them, they took their own families. Their husbands and children, and spread out as far as they could. Only Marley remained, picking up the pieces and the mess, believing that her sisters would come back for her.
She also believed that when someone owned a house, they didn't have to pay for bills. She was never able to understand money situations, and when the bank came to foreclose on her parent's house, she was left confused. When she attempted to get a hold of her sisters, neither one of them answered, and for a while, Marley squatted in her own house that had been taken from her. It was then that an old neighbor of the family felt for her, and gave her a flier.
Lost Boys Housing was cheap, cheaper than Jacob's. They worked with you financially, and it seemed to be one big happy place where a ton of people all lived together. It was better than nothing, and Marley packed what she could, and set her way to Lost Boys with a smile on her face, and a bounce in her step.

backstory So basically, to dry off after almost DROWNING in Alice's tears, the Dodo bird comes up with this awesome idea to dry off. Run a Caucus Race, which is just a fancy way of saying RUN ALL OVER THE PLACE. But making it a race, makes it a competition. But because it's a Caucus Race, that means that everyone can stop whenever they want to, so they all win.
Now, Alice being the lovely little doll she is, she gives everyone a prize from her pocket, except herself. And the Dodo says 'GIMME THE THIMBLE PLZ' and Alice, being the lovely little doll she is, gives it to him. BUT THE DODO HAS A CLEVER PLAN. He gives it to Alice as her prize for winning the rage. Good Guy Dodo Bird Always Has a Plan.
