Sundays were possibly the worst days to try and train someone, for the simply fact that the New York Aquariam's busiest days, were on Sundays. It seemed to be a tradition, that when church let out, the parents and grandparents would take their kids to come see all the little fishies, and the big fishies, and that meant chaos. Chaos, everywhere. It was the one day of the week that all three managers were on scheduale at the same time, and working over time. Taking staggered breaks, so they could manage the after-church rush.
And because the Aquarium was such a popular attraction, it meant that more staff was needed. Each manager was taking a new person under their wing, and showing them the ropes. Everywhere from basic clean up, to working the ticket booth, to being a tour guide. It was a lot to cover, and could be quite insane. Which is why Bella had a tape recorder in her hand. Well...not an old fashioned one--who had tapes anymore? But she would be using her iPhone has a recorder, and then would forward it to the new girl, if she ever had any questions. It seemed reasonable to her, right?
Bella sauntered into the office, waving to the other managers getting their paperwork together. The other two, another woman, and a man were already with their newbies. Which meant Bella was late. Which meant. Shit. She did that awkward jog-walk sort of movement, her boots clicking on the linolium floor while she hurried to the backroom, where she found anothe girl sitting in waiting. Her hair was...really, really red. And she was really, really pretty. Bella cleared her throat, and smoothed out her skirt, and grinned. "You're...Thalia Hart, right?" She held her hand out to the other girl. Actually, she didn't look that much younger than herself; granted that the extra meat on Bella's bones always made people assume she was a bit older than her 21 years.
"I'm Bella, I'm one of the managers you'll be working with. So, welcome to the New York Aquarium, we're glad to have you as part of our little family." She flashed her pretty white teeth at the new girl, and flipped her brown, wavy hair over her shoulder. "If you'll come this way, we'll start with a tour. When you're first starting out, it's best to carry a map of the Aquarium, that way if anyone asks you how to find something, or you get lost, it helps a lot. You can find them in the brochures stationed at each exhibit." There was a small headphone in one of Bella's ears, attatched to a small mic-pack that was hanging on her belt. Her phone was hooked with a clip to the collar of her dress, recording what she was saying, "When you start your first shift, you'll get a mic pack too. Keeps us connected incase something happens, a glass cracks and sharks get loose. Typical stuff, you know?" Bella grinned, and glanced sideways at the other girl, hoping she wasn't scaring her too badly. She lead her carefully through the offices, trying to get to the main aquarium, "Before we get started, is there any clarifications or questions you had?"

Bella was not prepared for the bombardment of words that came out of the redhead's mouth. The blinked at her a couple of times, her mouth opening to say something--but the other girl kept going. Bella snapped her mouth shut, and smiled waiting for her to finish. She glanced down at the clipboard in her hands, and flipped over a piece of paper, before, lowering the clipboard to her hands. She would not be snappish, impatient, or bitchy. She wouldn't. Nope.
"You would have to have a degree in marine biology, or be studying it to receive training with the animals. You would also have to pass a variety of background checks, SCUBA courses, and program training before you'd be allowed to handle any of the animals. It's an aquarium, but we also have a rescue and release program." She explained it the best way she could. On occasion, Bella handled the animals, it was rare. And understaffed, but she had never once gotten in the water with any of the animals. "You have to work from the bottom up. Meaning you'll have to do your job, and do it well. And then, if working with the animals is something you want to do, we'll check your qualifications." That was nice, right? She was being polite, right?
Part of her doubted that this girl had ever been told 'no', and that made her feel bad. She was being judgemental. Just because she was pretty, and looked more like she should be sitting at fashion week, than walking around an old aquarium--didn't mean she was a snob. Bella didn't like it when anyone judged her, for her looks, weight, or what she was wearing--and yet, here she was doing it to another girl. She lead her out of the office, and into the cool, highly conditioned tunnel of the aquarium. The hall was filled with a blue light, and there was a soft music echoing through the area, setting the mood for the assortment of fishes and sharks that swam overhead, above the people passing along. "This is the shark encounter. Here we have two hammerheads, and one great-white. There's a seperate tunnel down the hall, where we keep the tigersharks. Around noon, and just before closing we have a feeding view. Those usually bring people in, so it can get a bit congested in here. Just make sure no one's blocking up the way, or tapping on the glass."
Bella paused for a moment, and put her hand up to her ear, seeming to listen to something on the headphone, distracting herself from Thalia, just for the moment. She then put her thumb on the pack on her hip, and pushed on a button, "Yeah, we'll be there in just a minute. Mind if I see how she handles it?...Alright, cool." She turned back to Thalia with a wide grin. "Ready to sink or swim? We've got a customer kicking up a fuss because of the ticket pricing." Bella continued down the hall, moving just a little faster, "We charge admission for toddlers, because god help us if they kick up a fuss. Parents don't look after them the best they can, so, it's like. A collateral incase one of the kids break something, or pukes somewhere." Up ahead near the ticket booth, there was an older woman, holding onto the hands of two young girls, one looked about four years old, the other closer to the ten year old range. "She's not understanding why she's got to pay for the little one. How about you try to handle it? Think you're up for it, Miss Thalia?" [/blockquote]

Today had been one of those days that caused a man of Morgan's age to want to punch another male in the face. He had barely got enough sleep, his stomach was cramping up from something he ate the night before, and he felt the sudden stress of all the events that he had scheduled. Life as a freelance D.J. and a full time student really weighed heavily on Morgan's shoulders. Life at home, Ole England, seemed to add stress with Jamie's, his eldest brother, birthday coming up. Morgan couldn't go visit him this time, and he felt extremely ill about it. WIP
