personality Though at first glance, you might think that Charity was nothing more than a crazily-dressed, stubborn cowgirl, well... in a way, you would be right. Though to add to that list, she was also as unpredictable as the Arabian horses she would ride. Charity is constantly changing her style, from relaxed and casual, to preppy, to cowgirl, to just plain unique. you never really know what she would choose to show up wearing from day to day.
No matter her ever changing style though, she's ever-stubborn. She will not take 'no' for an answer, and she will argue a point until it's proven, or it's dead. On top of that, she's very opinionated, and she is not afraid to share her opinions. She'll definitely speak her mind if given the opportunity.
She has a 'cowgirl' attitude, and is very resourceful because of it. She's also considered 'feisty' because of it. She has attitude, but not in a bad way. Really, it's more of an 'I don't care what you think' kind of way. Don't get confused though, she can be super nice, as long as you're nice to her too. Or if she likes you, which, chances are, she will. Charity likes when people are unique, she'll probably tell you she likes it.
Small she may be, but she has a pretty intense temper. Well, for the short burst it would be anyways. She would yell until she was red in the face, then throw a pillow or two before going off to pout. Then, once she finished cooling off, she would probably apologize for being so crazy, or she would just pretend it never happened, depending on whose fault it really was.
past Born and raised in the state where ‘everything’s bigger’, Charity defied the Texan motto right from the start. She was born, the only child of Annie Lynne and Michael Landon Nelson, weighing only six pounds, two ounces. She grew up like a normal kid. Well, except for the occasional odd behavior she would develop over the years. Throughout school, she was sent home numerous times for getting into fights. One time, in the third grade, she threw sand at a kid because she was so mad at him. But he deserved it. He was making fun of her. The principal didn’t think that displayed ‘the Texan way of hospitality’ though, and so she was sent home.
A big part of Charity’s life involved horses. Heck, she was riding them before she could walk, though that tended to happen when you grew up on a ranch in Texas. She did a lot more than trail ride, though. She learned to ride both English and Western. Barrel Racing, Roping, Jumping, Dressage, you name it, she did it. Her favorite was probably jumping though. Or Barrel Racing. It depended on the day. She loved showing horses, and she would travel a lot on show circuits. She did just about anything with her horses. Show them, train them, bathe them, etc. She seemed almost able to talk to the horses by the way they responded so well to her. She was one of the best trainers around, even though she wasn’t even sixteen at the time.
Oh, but don’t be deceived, she didn’t grow up as miss prissy perfect who got in the occasional fight. You know that song line, ‘Baptized in dirty water’? Yeah, that described Charity’s life perfectly. Her parents thought she was just the perfect daughter, but really, she just wanted to have fun. She drove before she was supposed to, and she snuck out all the time to go riding by herself or with her friends in the middle of the night. Nothing would beat a good nighttime swim with her favorite pinto Arabian mare, Dillon. Dillon was, and still is, her show horse, and Charity trained her herself. They were a perfect pair-both extremely stubborn and feisty.
On a show circuit, the family stayed at a hotel in a town next to the one the show was held in, and Charity’s mother fell in love with the place. So, they sent Charity to school there. Along with Dillon, of course, so that she could still ride a lot.
present A Sophomore at the high school, Charity seems to stick out… But get lost in the crowd at the same time. That’s what happens when you are a small feisty person with a Texan accent. She is constantly getting into trouble it seemed, though really, she didn't mean to, or like it, for that matter.
She isn't the best at school, though she does do alright. She maintains B's, with a few A's thrown into the mix. She is on the speech and debate team, when it doesn't interfere with her riding. Her riding is still number one on her list, for now. Though if she did find something else to involve all of her time in, her riding would barely slip into place number two. Oh, and on a side note, she's starting to work at the make a wish foundation.
Charity still gets into fights every now and again, though they're usually just yelling fights, since all the other 'kids' went and grew up to be bigger than her.
