personality River has got a bit of a temper. She was born and raised in Scotland, and grew up with three brothers, so this doesn't come to much of a surprise. She's loud, and boisterous, and usaully fun to be around though. She used to be a bit of a tomboy, but Glinda stopped that up quick.
Another thing Glinda did for her was make River the slightest bit conniving. Glinda always comes up with the trickiest plans, that seem to be helping the greater good, but then end up directly benefiting her. Due to this, River has gotten a bit paranoid of her companion, and is the slightest bit wary of her.
Other than all that though, River is fun loving and easy to get along with. She gets along with just about everyone. Except...well..when she doesn't. Those times are usually very bad for all involved.
past River was born as the youngest child in the Fontaine family, and also the only girl. This usually created problems. Growing up in Inverness, River never had much luck with the boys due to her frightening older brothers constantly 'protecting her' from scum. With blessings from their father no less! They would go with her everywhere, escorting her to and from school, and the library, and into the city, and to her friends houses for sleepovers. Honestly, River constantly felt like she was travelling in some large, over protective bubble.
She rebelled. She made plans with 'friends' only to go out to go to parties, and participate in illicit activites. She had sex, she drank, she smoked, and one night she got caught. Stressing in the flashing lights of the cop car, she wished that she could just go home, and quickly. Suddenly, as the idea formed in her head, a woman appeared. She was wearing a big poofy pink ball gown, and smiled and told River to give it the old 'no place like home.'
Having convinced she had finally taken too many drugs, that this is what they meant by 'acid flashbacks', the then 16 year old figured that as long as she was crazy, she might as well listen to her imaginary friend. Three clicks and an idiotic chant later, she opened her eyes to discover that she was floating. In a giant bubble. Soaring home, watching the world fly beneath her. Okay, now she was having an overdose. She was probably dead. She awoke in her bedroom, with a wicked headache and shocked to see Glinda still standing there. In less of a haze, River started to wonder if she actually had lost her marbles. After a lengthy explanation, that River believed, Glinda revealed that River should finish up her high schooling and then go to New York to find Dorothy.
present So, she enrolled in J Barrie university, and is making finding the Wicked Witches her top priority. Also, she learned that having Glinda be a part of her has its benefits in the form of actual magical powers. Not a whole lot, simple teleports, glamours to get rid of acne, and she can still travel by bubble. She rarely does that though, since that seems to attract a lot of attention from passerby.
Lately, however, River is wondering how pure Glinda's intentions are. Surely these witches couldn't be so bad, and River has always thought that at least the Wicked Witch of the West got kind of a raw deal. I mean, come on, the girl only wanted her dead sisters shoes. Not all that bad. However, whenever river points this out, she gets a wicked bad headache, and Glinda doesn't talk to her for prolonged periods of time. Huh. Must hit a nerve or something.

backstory Glinda is quite possibly the most beloved villian ever. She summons a tornado that drops a house on her 'competition,' tells the farmgirl in said house that the only way back home is by stealing said dead womans shoes and going to see some man who doesn't even really do anything, and then when said farmgirl gets to said man's palace, it's learned that the only way to get the man to help her get home is by killing Glinda's other competition. After everyone that Glinda hates is dead, she reveals to Dorothy that she could have gone home at any time, but Glinda failed to mention it because "[Dorothy] wouldn't have believed [Glinda]"
