...appearance*
hair color His dark brown hair is often tousled and can appear greasy at times; he doesn’t care much for combs.
eye color Blue-green, with a distinct hazel-yellow ring around his pupils.
build In long sleeves and jeans he appears of normal build, not fat nor scrawny, but in short sleeves one can see he is actually very well-toned. He works out, but doesn’t make an effort to make sure others know this. He doesn’t want to be a tool.
height 5’11
clothing style He’ll wear anything from basketball shorts to skinny jeans, band t-shirt to sports team t-shirts. To him, clothes are just, well, clothes, which is why at times he had trouble matching.
distinctive traits He often has a cold, therefor causing him to clear his throat frequently. When he does this, he omits a kind of low snarl from his throat. He also tends to be a loner; he prefers to walk to class by himself. Though he isn’t friendless or known as creepy, he is seen alone more often than with others.

personality
LESS SERIOUS THAN HE LETS ON&A GOOFBALL— In class, he is quiet, perhaps distant and disengaged. He knows what impression this gives others, and he relishes the fact that it’s far from the truth. He has an almost flashy sense of humor; and though he’ll never make an effort to make a stranger smile, he’ll do almost anything for the attention of his friends, be it singing Josh Groban at the top of his lungs through the halls of the dorms. Though he is reserved and a bit mysterious to the untrained eye, observant types could spot the mischievous glint in his eye and the “I-know-something-you-don’t-know” air about his toothy smile.
SNEAKY&TROUBLESOME-- Not that many of his teachers, classmates, or acquaintances suspect it from his discreet and almost docile demeanor, but Jordan has some tricks up his sleeve. Because his exterior doesn’t attract much excitement directly to him, so to speak, he takes it into his own hands to make trouble for himself. Nothing makes him feel more alive than to be out at night, running about past curfew getting into some foolhardy situation. He absolutely loves to plan, rather, plot, ways to get back at any sort of person that may have done something less than savory to him or someone he cares about. He makes sure to have fun with revenge.
SELFISH&RESENTFUL – Jordan doesn’t have much tolerance for those who have broken his trust before, and though he is generally loyal and devoted to his close friends and those he loves, he always seems to put himself first. This is something he recognizes, albeit only on occasion. If someone were to point out to him that he is self-centered, they would face a wrath. He is acutely sensitive to insults, though manages to swallow them with humor most of the time.
POSSESIVE&PROTECTIVE—Jordan is not only possessive and protective of his belongings, friends and family, but his personality as well. He can’t stand it when he sees people he gets close to taking in bits of his personality—that drives him away, which is why he doesn’t have very many friends, as “rubbing off on each other” tends to be a normal course for friendships. When he has a significant other he is not possessive to the unhealthy, abusive degree—but he gets jealous far too easily, and what would be considered harmless talking to the opposite sex is seen as hurtful betrayal by him. This makes it hard for him to maintain a girlfriend, especially since he tends to get a tad obsessive with the ones he likes.
COMPASSIONATE&SENSITIVE—When Jordan does find someone he likes; he will tend to their every need and whim. He tries to always be there to talk and listen for his friends and family. He also tries hard to appreciate the good that resides in everybody, though he can get fed up with certain types, such as needy personalities. Since he tends to be one himself, he can’t handle the pressure of someone who needs him constantly—simply because he will be. He’s also the kind of guy who will always stand up for the kid being mocked with a simple, mumbled, sarcastic remark about the stupidity of the bullied kid’s antagonist. Once he is truly friends with someone and shares a mutual trust with them, he has been known to get into fights; if simply for the preservation of the dignity of a loved one.
past
Stephen Meleager, the class clown and bad boy of his grade, married his high school sweetheart, Kylie, less than a year after they had graduated. Neither of their parents agreed or condoned this decision, but Stephen had always been impulsive, and Kylie had always gone along with whatever he wanted to do, eyes wide, following him like a love sick puppy.
Unbeknownst to her and everyone else who know the couple, Stephen’s professed love for Kylie was a fallacy; Stephen was a psychopath, incapable of ever feeling the emotion he believed was love when he was with her. Though he tried his best to show it as years of marriage pressed on, Kylie began to realize something was off, especially after Jordan was born. Stephen seemed to have no regard for the well-being of their son. This inkling was justified the one time Jordan rolled off a changing table as Stephen watched, and Kylie came into the room moments after, eyes filled with tears and shock.
“Stephen! What happened?”
“He’s okay, Ky.” He had said emotionlessly, a hint of a smile on his face.
Because he was unable to feel remorse, Stephen began to compulsively lie to his wife and child. He’d always tell Jordan he was bringing gifts for him after work, and seemed to revel in the disappointment in Jordan’s face when he claimed he forgot. Kylie became disturbed that whenever Stephen hurt his family, he’d get an almost imperceptible grin that caused the corners of his mouth to twitch upward.
Pretty soon, Stephen found himself unable to speak a word of truth to his family, he was addicted to the adrenaline of lying and he relentlessly searched for ways to see their reactions when he did. He pushed the limits to see how much they would believe, playing on Jordan’s naivetés simply because he was young. Finally, push over Kylie put her foot down.
Though she still loved Stephen, she loved Jordan more; as Jordan grew older he always took his mother’s side and defended her from her twisted husband. When Jordan was 11 years old, she slipped into his room at night and told him to pack his bags.
present
The Meleagers had always been a well-to-do family, (Stephen was a lawyer and Kylie was an accountant for a successful bank) Kylie seized that fact to move them as far away from Stephen as possible. She booked a flight to New York, not looking behind her. With the nice sum of money she brought, all her own, and her impression occupational past, she snagged a decent job and years of hard work paid off. Because she must work so much to make ends meet, however, she believed Jordan would do better in a boarding school.
Jordan didn’t go without a fight however, being extremely protective of his mother’s fragile mental state. Much of his time spend alone at Baum is contemplating running away, to make sure his father hasn’t appeared back in his mother’s life.
family
PARENTS AND SIBLINGS
Stephen Victor Meleager- father, Jordan is unsure of how old he is, and hasn’t seen him or heard of him in 8 years. Jordan is convinced of the fact that he has his father’s smile; this horrifies him.
Kylie Remy Meleager- mother, whom Jordan is extremely protective of and takes after in the way he tends to be needy and obsessive.
likes
–Gyros, anything with lamb meat
-Wooly sweaters. Cause they’re, uh, warm. And stuff.
-Getting a good laugh at the expense of someone who is mean to others
-Lies. He is obsessed with the way they work, and their effects on people, no doubt because of his past. He finds it very hard to lie himself, and seldom does.
-Springtime. It lifts his spirits, as it does to many others.
-Pranks.
-Petting zoos. It’s embarrassing, but true.
-People who stay themselves, and don’t let his personality influence theirs.
dislikes
–Liars. This is the weird paradox that is Jordan’s life; he likes to think about lies and the way they work, but cannot stand when people lie, especially to him. He has a knack for using others’ lies to his advantage, though.
-People with stubby teeth. It gives him the heebie-jeebies.
-Vegetables. He has to choke down his leafy greens to stay fit, but he gags the whole time.
-Insults. From petty jabs to full on burns, they all irk him. He does a good job of not showing when they bother him though. Most of the time. So be careful.
-Little kids. Especially little boys. There’s something about their voices especially that’s just unexplainably irritating to him. A word to the wise, don’t let him babysit your children.
-His father. Messed him up, messed his mom up—he’s just a rotten, rotten man. But was it really his fault, or out of his control? Jordan tries not to think about such things for long periods of time, they make his head hurt.
other notes He can’t really lie. I mean, he can, but barely. Little white lies, sure, but full blown contraries to the truth? His tongue practically swells up in his mouth.

book title Aesop’s Fables: The Boy Who Cried Wolf
backstory First of all, I don’t get why this village put a young boy in charge of their town flock. Obviously, a child will get bored doing such a wet blanket job like shepherding. Anyways, so this moronic boy keeps telling the villagers a wolf is attacking their sheep, and they coming running twice just to find out he’s lying. Finally, a wolf finally does come, and when the boy yells for help, no one comes. Cause he’s a dirty rotten liar. And hey, you know, wolf’s got to eat too. He must’ve been starving, considering wolves never come near humans unless they are literally dying of hunger. Why must wolves always have a bad rap in stories?! There’s nothing in real life to back that reputation up…oh shoot. Sorry. I could go on about that for days.
