personality
Pickle is...well. She's a sweetheart, we can start there? Pickle is a special little girl. She has the social grace of a hamster with tourettes. Often she says things that she genuinely means, but can be misconstrued. A smart girl, but she doesn't pick up on slang very much due to her homeschooling. She didn't get much of a chance to socialize, due to her shyness. Often she was the kid that played on the swingset by herself, just watching the other kids.
Because of her lack of socialization with other children, she doesn't know exactly how cruel kids and other teenagers can be. She believes the best in everyone, and doesn't take much notice when they make fun of her behind her back. However, when she finds out about it, her demeanor changes. Pickle doesn't typically hide her thoughts, or how she's feeling.
This being said, Pickle is very naive. Not stupid. If someone tells her something will be alright, she'll believe them. She's also a bit on the gullible side; however she's extremely book-smart. Unfortunately, she gets roped into doing homework for other people, or getting the brunt of the work in projects.
When she sees something she deems to be wrong, she tends to stand up for what she believes is right, and latches on with an iron grip. She is very protective over people that she considers her friend. However, equally--she's a little creepy. Because she's gone so long watching other people, she tends to stay in the background. She gets awkward when someone talks to her directly, or points her out. Her creep-factor isn't helped very much by her unkempt hair, and her large eyes.
past
Pickle, the precious only child of the Abrey family. After Pickle was born, her mother suffered a uterus infection which called for a hysterectomy. Pickle was the only child, and she was born as Michelle Kelly Abrey. Once her teeth came in, she found a fondness for pickles. Which became the only thing she would eat for a very long time. She became her parent's "Little Pickle", and by the time she could speak, Michelle thought Pickle was her actual name and would respond only to Pickle.
As she grew older, she decided that she liked Pickle better than Michelle. Michelle never really felt like her name anyway, so she was always Pickle. However, she didn't get too often of a chance to socialize with other children. Her parents, protective over their only child, were afraid of the crime that the world was falling into. In order to keep their little pickle safe, they homeschooled her and kept her indoors.
When she would go out to play, her parents were always nearby. She wasn't allowed to spend nights at anyone else's house, and she didn't get to know kids well enough to have them over. However, Pickle seemed completely okay with this. Her parents loved her--she was lucky. After so many episodes of America's Most Wanted that her mother made her watch for homework, Pickle realized that she was extremely fortunate to have parents that cared so much about her well being.
However, Pickle was quickly growing older, and more curious about the outside world. It was around this time that Mama Pickle ended up contracting ovarian cancer. Extensive treatments meant that Mama and Papa Pickle were too busy to continue to school their little Pickle, and they still were not about to put her in a public school where anyone could walk on and off campus.
So, Pickle did her research and found a place called Baum Academy in New York. It would give her a chance to explore the world, and get out of New Orleans. It would also be a protected place, with staff and dorms. Parental Pickles were concerned about this, however they supported their daughter as they allowed her to submit an application.
Two months later, just before the school year was to begin, Pickle received an acceptance letter. With a plane ticket in hand, and two large suitcases, Pickle was off to New York, New York.
present
How does someone, who lived in a city that was so old adjust to New York? New Orleans was an old place, history everywhere. Cemetaries the size of small towns. Music filling in the air--despite the city's history and the amount of age on it, New Orleans was alive.
How does she adjust to a city where the towers reach to touch the sky? Where everything is new, and instead of music--the sound of voices and cars fill the air? The sidewalks didn't smell like fresh bread, or gumbo--but instead like sweating bodies and exhaust from the cars.
The answer is--you don't. Pickle was not doing well in New York. She was just as scared as ever--at least at home, she had her parents there. Her parents were her friends; over here she had nothing. Nothing but a boy that she saw in the halls and that turned her world upside. A boy she couldn't talk to, that she was too shy to talk to. A boy that made her feel like her entire world was collapsing down around her every time he smiled. But she was invisible, she couldn't be seen. No one noticed her.
And alone in New York was she.

book title Peter Pan
backstory
Basically this Crocodile like, goes apeshit and ends up getting a bite out of Cap'n Hook's hand right? Well, apparently he was stashing coke or something good in that hand, cause the Croc is all up on that. And it ends up accidentally eating a clock, so it gets all pissy cause the damn thing ticks now, alerting Hook when it's nearby. And the crock thought it was gettin' slick.
