If you don't know him: Tyler is shy. He doesn't do a good job at meeting new people. Being in the city is a new thing for him, as the last town he lived in had a maximum of 2,163 people. Tyler is nervous and blushy, especially when he gets all clumsy in front of people. He's a bit of a coward, which makes it easy to push him around. However, he does have a point where you can push him too far. Tyler is childish and trusting. He's easily manipulated.
If you know him: He's a super loyal friend. He's really got that typical "boy-next-door" thing going on. Minnesota Nice is drilled into him. He does come out of his box with people that he's more familiar with, and turns out to be playful, immature and very creative. He can be very competitive and pouts when he loses. He likes to be artistic, but is rather secretive about it.
He is a teenage boy with teenage things on his mind. He wants, but he is shy enough to not go there, which puts him into the friendzone quite often. Girls make him nervous, but he gets used to them eventually, with familiarity. Despite being shy and fairly inexperienced, the saying "it's always the quiet ones" fits well with him. Very quiet sarcasm and occasional random innuendo is enjoyed by members of his group.
past
Tyler grew up in little tiny Winsted, Minnesota. No one knows where it is. It had a population of around 2,000 people, a small freshwater lake (that you would never dare let your children swim in), a municipal airport, and one chain restaurant. The buildings on Main Street were run down, the only cool place to hang out was the cement slabs of the basketball court and businesses closed on weekends, as the town was basically run by the large Catholic church in the middle.
Tyler had a fairly normal childhood. His parents were loving and encouraging, but also firm and pushed him to do his best. He had two younger sisters, Ellie and Brynn, who he gets along with splendidly. As for friends, Tyler had a tightly knit group from kindergarten until eighth grade. Afterwards, they attended a slightly larger (but certainly not big, with 60 students per grade) high school, and formed new groups of friends. He worked at his cousin's farm over the summers, and so enjoys being outside and working with animals.
Ty is pretty unlucky when it comes to the romance department. Often shy, clumsy and quiet, he didn't catch the eye of many, or if he did, it went unnoticed. Often, when he would work up the nerve to speak to a girl, he would become very good friends with her. And friends they would stay, as any feelings he had towards her were kept silent, having been mortified by being friendzoned once more.

Currently, Ty enjoys basketball, baseball and misses hockey and ice fishing. He finds the city lacking in elbow room and tries to spend as much time as he can outside. He also misses the livestock and the fresh farm air. He's very interested in going into a branch of the military, possibly the Air Force or the Marines. Being a Midwest boy, he hasn't traveled a lot, so he'd like to see other parts of the world, and still be useful as he does so.
He decided that he needed a change in scenery, before enlisting and going off to boot camp, so here he is! Right in the middle of the dynamic NYC. Uncomfortable though he is, Ty figures that this will be a good thing for him. He can learn to be more outgoing and maybe, just maybe, he can finally kiss a girl.
