Well, Benny was certainly no stranger to the local Lenscrafters. He was sre that he managed to find his way back there nearly every two months. It wasn't really his FAULT, per say, it was just that he had a nasty habit of losing his glasses so often. He could hardly be held accountable for the fact that he misplaced them so much! There were so many different places where he felt the need to take them off, like Gym class, or when he hung out with Mackenzie sometimes, or when he was trying to read, because really, glasses kind of got in the way when he was up so close to the print. They were a hassle, really! And it didn't help that he always thought he looked kind of goofy in them. Honestly, he ought to invest in a good pair of contact lenses, but he was always kind of scared of the idea of having to stab himself in the eye every morning, and wouldn't he be more likely to lose something so small?
Ugh, no. He would just get another pair of glasses. This was the part that he hated, though. He could never choose, and honestly, he didn't know how he could be expected to. They put rack upon rack upon rack of sample frames out for display and then expected you to be able to pick one over the others! How cold ANYONE do that? They all had their ups and downs. Benny was constantly at odds with himself, because none of them EVER were simply outstanding. No, he always had to go with the ones that seemed just barely acceptable, or alright and what he guessed to be a bit better than the rest.
Luckily, this time, he had brought a second opinion. Sure, Chris was a bit out there, but she certainly seemed like the one to be able to help him out. Mackenzie was too artsy and fashion-y, and she would try to get him to pick some over the top, crazy frames that he wouldn't want to wear in public. Benny was the opposite. She was jst as shy and non-committal as Benny. It wold just be one more person standing there making confused, indecisive noises in front of the displays. No, Chris was the perfect medium. She wold totally help.... once she showed up.

God, sometimes Chris questioned why she didn't just ask her adopted parents to get her own damned driver's license already and somehow get a car. Because having to have her parents drive her everywhere was seriously becoming an issue, not to mention the fact that it was pathetic. They were late, so she was late. Okay, first off, she had asked them nicely to wake her up at a certain time, which they didn't do. 'Oh, we wanted to let you sleep,' they had said. That was no fucking excuse! She had told them about the mall trip dozens of time since it was planned. It was rather important to her that she got to help a friend pick out glasses.
Not that she knew anything about glasses, but still. This was Eeyore they were talking about. Seriously, the boy who personified her favorite somber donkey did it do well, it was a suprise that he didn't know who he was already. Of course, if he did know, she was sure he would find it a bit weird that he was totally in love with Tigger, but oh well. That was neither here nor there. The point was, she loved Eeyore and when he needed help, she would help.
But of course, that would involve actually getting to the fucking mall.
Finally they got in the car, with Chris in an impatient huff. They obviously were not pleased that they had to go out of their way for this. I'm sorry, didn't you adopt me because you thought I was schizophrenic or something? she thought sarcastically. Shouldn't they have encouraging her to have real friends, even if she knew they all were partially her imaginary ones? There was no way they could know that each of them had had a glow when she first met them, including Benny. Oh right, Benny. She had to remember his reincarnation name if she was going to see him. She had a few close calls before, with their real names and what not. It was a bit difficult for her, but so far nothing had slipped.
The car sped off once she stepped out of the car. God, this was embarassing. She was definitely getting her license before she graduated.
Navigating the mall as best as she could (it wasn't surprising that she really wasn't the type of girl to frequent the mall), she found the Lenscrafters with much more ease than she expected. Oh, this sort of reminded her of the time years back when she helped Eeyore with his tail (though later she found out that that was part of the book, but she was still confused about that whole reincarnation shit and her memories and Chris Two wasn't exactly helpful).
"Hey, Benny," she said with a smile. Oh yes, it was possible. Not many believed it outside of her group of friends, but yes, Chris Robindale was capable of a friendly, reassuring smile.
notes; This is so fluffeh and rambly because of an overflow of random Chris muse. Sorry :/ OUTFIT

Finally appearing out of the crowds in the mall, Chris gave Benny a thankfully warm smile. It was always good news to see someone smile at him. Sre, it came rarely because the vast majority of the world was too caught up in their own thoughts to take time out of their busy days to smile at strangers, and those that DID know of him hardly thought he deserved a smile for being so weird and unpopular, but when it happened it was nice. It at least showed him that he wasn't inconveniencing Chris in any wayby asking her to lend him a hand with picking out new frames. She might not be so smiley the next three times he had to ask because a replacement was needed for a lost pair, but for now he knew he had made the right choice.
"Hey, um, thanks for coming! Seriously, I, like, didn't know who else to ask. I mean, it's kind of a weird thing to need someone for, y'know?" Benny laughed nervously, desperately trying to let her know that he wasn't some totally weird freak that would generally just ask people they only vaguely knew to help them with something this random. He already knew that most people thought he was a freak. He didn't want to put off that impression on someone he was just starting to get to know.
"Umm.... so yeah... I like, have no idea which ones to choose. It's just.... I dunno. There's so many options." He waved vaguely at the large racks of different frame options. Truly, it was a daunting assortment of different colors and thicknesses and shapes and sizes. "Like, I dunno' if I should go with some of the wiry ones, or like, the thicker ones.... I just don't want to look like a hipster, y'know? Other than that I don't think I have any clue what I want." He looked at her pathetically, showing his utter uselessness in this area. THIS was why he always needed a shopping buddy when he needed new glasses.

"Hey, um, thanks for coming! Seriously, I, like, didn't know who else to ask. I mean, it's kind of a weird thing to need someone for, y'know?"
"No, I see why you would need someone." Chris scanned the racks and racks of different styles of glasses. Damn, there were a lot of different choices. Thank God she had never needed glasses. "Yeah, it's definitely not weird."
Chris almost fronwed at him laughing nervously, but didn't show the frustration she felt. It wasn't his fault that he only really vaguely knew her, but she had kind of known him forever. Really, she didn't know him, as in Benny, just Eeyore. Though it did frustrate her that most of her friends didn't know who they were when it was so obvious to Chris.
Well, that didn't really just apply to this. It really frustrated her in general when people didn't understand things that were RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR FUCKING FACES.
Anyways, she wasn't mad at Benny. Honestly, though she would never say it aloud, he was like ten fucking shades of adorable. Seriously, she always had a special place in her heart for Eeyore, and that didn't really change with Benny. Out of all of them, Benny and Darius were her favorites.
Though, she liked the reincarnation better when it came to Benny. Darius was just kind of... yeah. He was kind of annoying sometimes with his wangster style and attitude.
"Umm.... so yeah... I like, have no idea which ones to choose. It's just.... I dunno. There's so many options."
Chris snapped out of her mind's wander to elsewhere and nodded. "Hell yes there are so many options."
"Like, I dunno' if I should go with some of the wiry ones, or like, the thicker ones.... I just don't want to look like a hipster, y'know? Other than that I don't think I have any clue what I want."
"Hmmm." Chris felt a bit overwhelmed by the huge selection, but fought it off. After all, she was supposed to be helpful while Benny felt overwhelmed. Yeah.
So she sucked it up and walked over to the closest rack, picking up a pair of GLASSES she thought were not too thick and not too thin, either. "Here, try these on."

Benny quickly took the glasses, glad that he had someone else to make the choice for him. If it was up to him he'd just stand there balking at the selection for the entire day and then nervously shuffle out the door when they were ready to close mumbling something about how he'd be back the next day to make up his mind after sleeping on it. Now at least all he had to do was try and put on different glasses that were handed to him as fast as humanly possible and try his best to look good in them. Well, he supposed he didn't even have to try that hard, because he knew it was impossible for him to EVER look good, but oh well.
Once they were snug on his face, he turned to Chris, sheepishly grinning. he didn't really know what to expect. He never really was good at anticipating what was considered "stylish" or not, and a third opinion was always necessary to keep him from walking out the front door looking like a complete idiot. He supposed that was one of the nice things about having Mackenzie for a friend. She was so into fashion she would never DREAM of letting Benny wear anything less than the best. She was always looking out for him, making sure he didn't wear mismatching clothes or whatever else was considered a major faux pas in modern fashion. White after labor day and all that kind of nonsense that Benny couldn't be bothered to actually pay attention to.
"So, uh, how do they look?" He turned to a mirror to look at his own reflection. Upon seeing the garish things on his face he immediately grimaced, as if in pain.
"Oh, god, they're hideous, aren't they? I'm gonna be made fun of forever for wearing glasses. God, I should just get contacts. Do you think it would help? I mean. I dunno. I mean, yeah."

Honestly, she didn't see what was wrong with Benny wearing glasses. Chris thought they made him look adorable, though she would never say that shit aloud. Because fuck you, that's why. Okay, yeah, maybe she was starting to hang out with Darius a bit too much. Not that that would make her hang out with her Poohbear any less, but whatever.
So when he put the glasses on and faced her, she actually thought they looked great. They weren't too big or too small; they were just right. Like, Goldilocks in a pair of sunglasses. Okay, yeah, no, she hated "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". Blonde bitch that breaks in to an innocent bear family's house and fucks with all their stuff? Yeah, she'd shoot Goldilocks in the face before she let her mess with her favorite bear. Well, any of her sort-of animal friends, really. ANYWAYS, she didn't get a chance to comment on the glasses before Benny got a look at them in the mirror, and proceded to act like he had just gotten first glance at a bad nosejob.
Chris Two loved Eeyore. Chris loved Benny. But seriously, there was only so much she could take of the whole depression/low self-esteem thing before she got irritated. Yes, that was kind of the point of an Eeyore. But honestly, she really loved him and considered him pretty well up there on the list of awesome people. Now if only he could realize that.
Sighing, she began a pep talk. "Benny Moore, you're starting to sound like a pre-teen girl." Not the best way to start a pep talk, but honestly they weren't really Chris' division. "Okay, what I mean is, those glasses look great on you. I like them, personally. And I don't think you should get contacts, because glasses fit your personality. Just..." Okay, what did people with glasses do to keep from losing them? "I don't know. Get a case or something. Designate a place for them so you don't lose them. Tie them to your face. I dunno." She smiled at the last one, totally joking. "I'd say if you lose one more pair, get contacts for sure. But I think glasses look best on you. Anything would look great on you. And if those bitches make fun of you for wearing glasses, tell me. I'll make sure they never make that mistake again."
Because people who bullied her friends got bullied back, and Chris could out-bully a lot of people. And she gave no effs about how Chris Two felt about that.

Benny was slightly starting to regret asking Chris to come. True, she wasn't afraid to speak her mind, but he'd kind of forgotten how... harsh she could be. He liked her, of course, it was just that he could only take her in short doses. She was one of those friends that you needed a break from every once in a while. Benny didn't know if normal people had friends like that but he know about five or six people he would classify as such. He could only stand to be around them for very short periods at a time before running back to Mackenzie for solace.
"Uh, yeah, uh, tying them to my face... That's, uh, that's a good idea...." Benny nervously laughed as he turned back to the display wall which showed off all the different frames. He didn't like to admit it, even to himself, but Chris could scare him sometimes. he wasn't used to people being so... OPEN about their thoughts. And so fiercely defendant of them at that. It was more than a bit disarming and made Benny all too happy to just try his best to do what she said. He didn't particularly want to get her angry with him, whether it be by disagreeing with her glasses advice or anything else. If anything, Chris made Benny a bit MORE nervous sometimes.
"Uh, so, uh, what do you think of Mackenzie?" Benny asked while he was looking at glasses, his back turned to Chris. He had defaulted to talking about the only topic he actually knew anything about. "I mean, like, as a friend, y'know? Not like, anything in particular." Benny was starting to feel like he'd said the wrong thing. She was probably thinking he was a major freak with a thing for Mackenzie now! He'd given himself away! Oh gosh, this was totally not good. This was the opposite of good. This was downright bad. Oh gosh, oh gosh. He didn't know why he'd said it in the first place, it was stupid and dumb and he was totally just ruining his entire reputation. Gosh. He hated himself sometimes.
