There wasn’t too much to do on a boring Saturday afternoon—actually. There was quite a bit. He could read a book, spend some time with Edgar, or watch TV. But that didn’t seem to sit right Mikael that day, and he wanted out. To stretch his wings a bit, if you will. But what to do outside? He had considered taking Edgar for a walk in the park, but it was a bit chilly outside. That also meant that hanging around the cemetery wasn’t a good idea also. Somewhere warm where there could be something to do. The mall. The mall worked, right?
So in his car he went, the glossy black paint reflecting the sun as he drove to Grimm Avenue mall. When he stepped out of the car, and into the mall, he was the sort that commanded attention. Tall, he reached about six feet tall, and the pumps on his feet only made him tower about four inches higher. He was incredibly tall, but to balance it out, he was willowy. A few did a double take. An incredibly tall, rather beautiful blonde woman walking through the mall—no not walking. Almost gliding. Smooth, careful. Only, there was something wrong with one of the previous statements. The person in the tight jeans, cropped leather jacket, and high heels was no woman.
Despite the full, heart shaped mouth, downturned eyes, and delicate facial structure—he was a man. It was hard to wrap your idea. It was as though the pieces didn’t match right. Despite this, though, the jacket covered up the lack of a bust, and the shadows almost seemed to refuse his pale alabaster skin, giving no indication of an Adam’s Apple…unless one were to look very closely. However, people may not understand when they discovered; but Mikael was comfortable. His father had never told him he was incorrect, or that he should do any different. He just so happened to be truly androgynous. Why not play with it a little? Girls got better clothes anyway.
He wasn’t a snob, but he didn’t so much as even glance into the Penny’s, or the Macy’s. He didn’t bother with the small, casual little boutiques on the bottom floor, and instead stepped onto an escalator and allowed it to carry him to the topmost floor. That’s where he wanted to be. He wasn’t snobby about it, but he preferred the more…expensive things. He could afford them, and the quality was better. If he could afford it, why not? Plus, when he grew tired of his clothes and he donated them—someone would be ecstatic to find a brand name marked down to a ridiculous price. So, in his own little way, treating himself was treating someone else as well. Mikael stepped into one of the small shops, and smiled a gentle greeting at one of the sales associates. She stared for a moment, then smiled.
“Can I help you with anything?” She chirped, looking up towards the statuesque Mika.
“Oh, no thank you. I’m just going to look for now.” He replied, and she looked almost startled. Mikael didn’t have a deep voice, but it was husky, a few pitches deeper than one might expect. He spoke almost slowly, carefully annunciating each word carefully. The girl looked entranced for just a moment, then nodded, smiled and turned to go about work. Mikael chuckled quietly, and turned to gently slide the longs along the rack, inspecting them.

Melanie had gotten up early that Saturday morning to get ready. For what, she realy didn't know at that point, because it was Saturday, after all. All she knew was that she didn't want to walk out of Barrie as a Princess of Monaco, as second best. No, she wanted to walk out of there as herself and not be followed by the paparazzi wanting to ask her questions about her sister. They had stopped asking about Melanie herself long ago, and that was something she really just could not handle that day.
So she wouldn't be going out as the glamorous shadow of her sister. That didn't mean she still couldn't look good. It took almost two hours for her to get her hair and makeup just right and pick the perfect un-Melanie-like outfit. Not horrific, of course, just... simple. She straightened her hair so she wouldn't be recognized by her near trademark waves/curls, and her makeup was very light but still there. She checked herself one more time in her favorite mirror before leaving, making sure everything was perfect before leaving. Routine for Melanie, of course.
Hmm, it seemed she still hadn't figured out where she wanted to go. Well, there was one place that was her last resort. Grimm Avenue Mall. The boutiques there were a few of her favorite all in one place. Seeing as there was no other place she wanted to go, she drove on to the mall, arriving in her obviously expensive car.
A few moments later, she was on the top floor, not bothering with even looking at anything except the escalator. Those stores and the food court really held no interest for her at all. Making her way down the line of boutiques, she found a small one she had visited before and stepped in.
After dismissing the help as she normaly did at stores, she started inspecting the racks for things she liked. Honestly, there wasn't much except.... ooh, that looked nice. As she made her way over to the thing that caught her eye, someone got in her way. They probably hadn't meant it, but it was still frustrating. "Excuse me, miss," she said impatiently, wondering why people did things like this. It was a bit annoying.

Mikael didn’t watch much TV, and he didn’t read much from current news. His nose was usually buried in some sort of novel; all that he heard of current going-ons were what he heard around the streets of New York. Of course, he did keep up in the fashion-world. He wasn’t a snob, but he appreciated nice clothes and good fashion. So, when he heard a voice behind him, and he turned to look, he recognized the face staring back at him. Her magnificent curls were straightened, and she didn’t look as bold as she typically did in the magazines he held. Mikael acknowledged the fact that she was possibly trying to disguise herself. Despite her obviously annoyed appearance, Mikael didn’t draw attention to her. He did smile though, almost peacefully.
“Pardon me.” He stepped aside, allowing her to move in closer, though the corner of his full lips still curled into a smile. His voice wasn’t feminine, and yet it wasn’t masculine. It was that careful balance inbetween. Naturally, his looks would make people assume it was a female voice, but when dressed in his more male-clothes, people assumed it was a man’s voice. It was just as androgynous as his looks were. “Sir, by the way.” He glanced at the Princess sideways with those warm eyes, the smile on his face added to the fact that he was teasing all in good humor. “Women have many more fashion options, don’t you think?” He pulled up a one-shouldered blouse, the rich deep blue that matched his eyes. “Plus, If one can pull it off, why not?” Despite from being up north, Mikael’s voice lacked an accent. It was clean, crisp, and measured. All in all, rather nice to listen to.
He folded the blouse carefully and laid it neatly back onto the pile. There was a natural grace in his limbs; they almost seemed to float as he moved. It was almost slow, but ever so gentle. Again, Mikael looked at Melanie—that was her name. He recognized her face, her name came afterwards. “A rich green shade will set your eyes off and it’ll look lovely with your skin.” Mikael offered another one of those knowing, but warm smiles. “Either way, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Mademoiselle.” The French word rolled off his tongue smoothly, and he tucked his slender hands into his coat, and dipped his head, starting to walk to the other side of the table. Wait till Edgar hears about this! He had a cool, relaxed, unphased exterior—but on the inside he was giddy, excited. He couldn’t wait to tell his faithful friend that he had just met not only a fashion icon, but a princess! Luckily, Mikael didn’t make a fool of himself. Thank goodness for being blessed with a calm personality.
