Fauna had to admit, she had a certain love for the Disney store. It was a beautiful place. It was a little haven midst the city. It was her little home away from home; her little getaway where she could pretend she was still in the Happiest Place on Earth. She could pretend she had just slipped inside Mouse Gear in Epcot center, just for a bit. She could watch all the excited, smiling faces of children as they ran from place to place, eagerly carrying dolls of assorted Disney princesses and characters.
She breathed in the sweet smell of new products. The smell of plastic and air freshener and freshly opened packages. It was the sweetest smell known to man. Fauna LIVED for that smell. That scent of sweet newness. It was glorious.
Sashaying from shelf to shelf, Fauna peered eagerly at the products. Oh, GOODNESS! They were all so clever and ingenious. Crafted after Walt's own dreams and desires, she was sure. Fauna's one wish in the world was that she could have had the opportunity to meet that splendid man. To pick his brain. To listen to what she could only assume was his heavenly, sugar sweet vocals. Oh, gosh, she knew that he could have been the man for her. The ONLY man that Fauna would have ever been able to get attached to. Alas, the cruel hand of fate had separated them by decades and decades, taking his brilliance from the world before Fauna's time.
Getting to get a bit teary eyed at the thought of what might have been, Fauna grabbed a pillow of that brilliant little yellow fish from The Little Mermaid and held it tight. Oh, if only there were some sort of magic that could bring her back. Could shave away those years so she could journey back to the golden age of Hollywood. She would have settled for just a glance at him. Just seeing him for one time.
Goodness, now she was positively breaking down. Tears flowed freely from her eyes and she sobbed into that stuffed little fish like there was no tomorrow. Why?! Why had she been doomed to this loveless age, where not one man stepped forward with the same brilliance as Walt Disney?
