Andromeda Read wasn't a nerd.
She wasn't really a jock either.
Honestly, she was just sort of a mixture of the two. It was possible, yes. No, she didn't have a Wii. Fuck that noise on soooo many levels. Well, it wasn't even really a mixture, per say. Sometimes she was a jock. Sometimes she was a nerd. Which all sounds very stereotypical, but honestly, stereotypes do exist, and it's not worth denying that. Most people did stereotype, and you can't get around what society says.
But of all the things Andie was at certain points of time, what she was now was completely and utterly BORED. Really. She had already taken her daily run on the track and done all her excercises. She had already beaten Skyrim for the... third time? Yeah, third time. And she had just finished jamming out to ALL the Epic Rap Battles of History. Of course, she could just replay all of those all day, but honestly, she would still be bored. She was caught up on all her posts for her roleplaying site, too. Plus, track practice wasn't for another few hours... LOJK, they cancelled track practice that day. And Tumblr was being stupid. Well this was perfect.
Of course, it might have been a little less boring if she hadn't decided to skip that day. But whatever.
Andie laid back on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. She coould watch one of those movies she downloaded, but ehh. She wasn't in much of a movie mood. She had already watched Red Riding Hood with that blonde chick with the weird face and the guy who kinda looked like Teach.
Teach!
Of course. How could she have forgotten her phone that happened to be... uhm. Oh! Sitting right on her TV stand, along with a few cans of soda and empty chip bags from when she had been in gamer mode. Eww. Picking up the trash and her phone, she threw the former into the little wastebasket she had right next to the beanbag chair she sat in for gaming purposes (why she hadn't thrown them in there in the first place, she didn't know) and started texting with her other hand.
Hey, you really doing anything in study hall today? If not, you should totally come to my dorm. Bored. - AR
Send.
Okay, maybe she only had her initials as her signature thing because of BBC's Sherlock, but whatever. Yeah, she watched British shows online sometimes. Not a big deal. Her method of watching wasn't exactly legal of course, but yeah. Anyways. Haha, if only she had a gun. She could shoot a smiley face in the wall. Even though she didn't much like guns or loud noises, but whatever.
She sighed and laid back down on her bed, waiting for Teach to answer or get here. notes; lol, lessons, teach, good form. c wut i did thar? outfit

RJ was ready to throttle Freddie.
Of course, this was the situation the vast majority of the time. It was rather hard for someone to pinpoint a specific moment in time RJ DIDN'T want absolutely nothing more than to just stab Freddie with a spoon to make sure it hurt. Generally he could handle the annoyances that Freddie managed to devise. Today, however, was one of the few times where it was just overwhelmingly awful, OVERWHELMINGLY despicable, UNDENIABLY inhumane that RJ just had to leave.
It had been a simple enough request. All RJ had wanted was to make sure that there was something left for him to eat when he got back from his workout. He'd bought a damn sandwich from the local deli PRECISELY for that reason, and then thrown in the mandatory decoy sandwich to keep Freddie off the scent. He had thought that it would mean he could return to the dorm after sweating like a pig in the gym to find a delicious meal awaiting him.
He was wrong.
When RJ returned to the dorm he had found a particularly pleased looking Freddie, an empty refrigerator and two sandwich wrappers lying on the floor.
Normally RJ would be able to weather this rage inducing nightmare. Normally he'd be able to just glare at Freddie and his stupid smug grin and find some way to passive agressively try and get back at him. Today, however, he needed to find something to goddamn eat.
Not bothering to change, he merely left the dorm to little response from Freddie. His only thought was trying to find something, ANYTHING to devour in moments.
The text from Read had been a godsend. He hadn't even thought of stopping by her dorm to prey on whatever she had laying around. He KNEW that would be the easiest way to fill his gullet.
I'm on my way. Got anything to eat? - RJ
A man on a mission, RJ made his way to his friend's dorm, forgetting his rage at Freddie. Everything could be forgiven the moment RJ got something to eat and hey, maybe he could have a chill afternoon with Read anyhow. Who the hell needed Freddie and his seemingly insatiable appetite?
Throwing open the door, RJ strutted in like he owned the place.
"Food. Need. Now."

Normally, it was weird for a girl to ask a guy to come to her dorm without other intentions. But Andie one wasn't one for normalcy, and frankly, she didn't didn't give a damn. So she wasn't even thinking about the possibility of anyone taking that the wrong way when she heard the familiar ringtone that was a parody of 300. Checking her phone, she smiled. Success. And luckily, Andie did have some food in her fridge and elsewhere. A few packages of pizza rolls, deli meat and bread, chips, etc. Anything that was easy to make. Because she reeeally could not cook anything in the oven or on the stove, no matter how detailed the directions were.
So she typed up the response, then decided not to send it. He would be here soon, after all. Like, probably within seconds, considering the time it took for him to respond to the text message and the short distance from the junior dorms to the sophomore dorms. Which meant she wouldn't bother to turn off the television screen or the game that was back to the menu, or her computer which still had a few tabs open.
When Teach walked in like he owned the place, she wasn't at all surprised. But she did smile, as she often did when Teach was around. And the smile didn't falter when he basically barked orders at her. "Aye, aye, sir." She jokingly saluted him, though she was actually going to get him food, of course. Andie couldn't let her best friend starve. Plus she didn't want to hear complaints about hunger when she did have all this food. "You want pizza rolls, sandwich, chips?" Referring to his slightly insane throwing open of the door, she guessed at the cause of his frustration and hunger. "Geez, Teach, does Freddie ever let you eat anything?"

RJ walked across her dorm, flopping himself down like a beached whale onto her beanbag chair. It was pathetic how many times he'd done this over the course of his high school career. The one girl's room he'd spent the majority of his time in and he'd never once even had an inkling of something more than stagnant friendship for her.
He was a disgrace to the male community world over.
"All of the above, please and thank you." RJ muttered, rubbing his temples. Ugh, he was starting to get a headache. This was just fucking perfect. He was probably dehydrated or something. It was all Freddie's fault, that asshole who had taken his gatorade before the workout and everything else while he was gone.
That bastard.
"Barely," RJ snorted in response to her concerned question. To be fair, she probably had a point. RJ had come crawling to her whining about hunger pains so many times before, she was probably worried that Freddie was attempting to starve him to death. It probably wouldn't be far from the truth. RJ could just imagine the glee on Freddie's face if he was informed that his roommate had bit the big one and he finally had the food and fridge all to himself.
"Tell me again why I'm friends with him? Sometimes I feel like I would be better off just cutting my losses and leaving him on the side of the road somewhere. It's not like he doesn't rely on me for everything. Maybe I could just shove him off the side of the boat one of these days and see how well he swims." RJ's headache wasn't getting any better. At this point he was rambling on with no real endpoint for the conversation. It was a tradition for him. Get pissed off at Freddie, rant about it to Read. Wash, rinse, repeat.
"Did I tell you what he did this time? He carved into the fucking side of my boat. The fucking Osprey! Can you believe that? The fucking idiot couldn't even spell it right. He sliced it open and wrote 'Cobfish' right across the side. What the hell even is a cobfish!? I've heard of codfish, sure, but what the hell? Who DOES that?" RJ's airing of every discontent he had with his best friend was just making the headache worse, he'd decided. It didn't help him to get pissed off when he was trying to soothe a pounding pain in his skull.

Honestly, Andie probably wasn't that much of a success in the teenage girl department when it came to the fact that all of Teach's visits were purely platonic. In all reality, she really didn't know how she felt about Teach, so it was probably for the better.
"Good choice." Honestly, Andie was hungry too. She could seriously eat all of that, even thought technically with her athletics, she wasn't supposed to. Whatever. She dumped the bag of Pizza Rolls onto a plate and chucked them in the microwave, letting them cook while she made the sandwiches. And she wanted to make them, thank you very much, and she was proud to be capable of making some form of edible thing. No, not all women blonged in the kitchen. Andie certainly didn't.
But enough of that. She got a Dr. Pepper out of the fridge, from the box she kept specifically for Teach considering she didn't like Dr. Pepper all that much, and handed that to him along with the plate with the sandwich and chips. The microwave beeped, so she checked the Pizza Rolls. Oh, wonderful, about half of them were still frozen. God, these things were impossible to make! Sighing, she took the already cooked ones off and put them on another plate (luckily she had a whole 175 count package of classy paper plates handy) while heating up the rest of them. While waiting, she leaned against the counter, listening to Teach rant, as usual. She had no idea why he was friends with Freddie, to be honest. He was a total prick and didn't really seem to care about RJ all that much, just his money. But maybe Andie just didn't understand the whole 'parents-not-being-around' thing. Her mom had been around, even if her dad hadn't, so she never got a good idea of-
What.
Freddie did what to her favorite boat?
Her grip tightened on the countertop, and she was tempted to run out and punch Freddie in the face, wherever he may be. Not that she was really violent, but still. Luckily, she was snapped out of it by the microwave going off again and the pizza rolls actually being done. Carrying the three plates and her own soda in, she plopped down on the other bean bag chair without spilling anything. For some reason, she was more coordinated with Teach around. "God, he's such an idiot. Maybe we should beat him up after we're done eating. Or get him while he's sleeping, or something." Smiling, though she was upset, she handed him his plate with the pizza rolls. Hopefully he would be less mad, but if not, she would still listen. That's what she did, after all.

Clutching his head, RJ let Andie do whatever the hell she wanted in the kitchen. He knew that technically he should help her or whatever, but honestly he sometimes didn't feel like being the gallant knight riding to the rescue and being overly leadership-y. He particularly didn't feel like playing that part when he was trying to vent his brimming rage at Freddie. He felt like with Andie he could just be himself without having to worry about putting on a show so that he could seem more personable or whatever. When he was with Andie he didn't have to try and be the nice, world-saving hero that he tried to be around other people. He could just let loose and let her take care of things for a bit while he vented about everything that bugged him.
He was pretty sure that it was these little sessions that kept him from going crazy, to be honest; it was almost impossible to keep up the smiley show all the time.
The microwave hummed and beeped in the background as he lounged on the seat, not bothering to make much conversation. That was reserved for when he was trying to be impressive and outgoing. he didn't HAVE to be that around Andie. He didn't HAVE to make an effort to maintain the friendship. She understood, right?
Graciously nodding as she handed him the plate, he munched and thought. "Trust me, I'm all for forming an angry mob to hang Freddie by his feet out a window, but honestly, what's the point? He'd probably like it." Groaning, RJ reclined some more. "Honestly, I just... I don't even know how to fucking comprehend it anymore. Seriously, who even thinks of that? Like... I don't even know if I'm mad anymore. I just can't honestly comprehend what the hell he was thinking when he did it. Does he WANT to just destroy everything I own?"
He snuck a quick look at Andie for some moral support. "He doesn't, right? Oh, God, he totally does. My best friend is bent on my utter destruction." Flinging his arm of his eyes in mock horror, RJ sunk off the chair onto the floor, the picture of distress.

Andie honestly didn't care that Teach didn't come and help - it wasn't something he did, or needed to do. These chats were about him relaxing and Andie probably would have just bumped into him if he even entered the area. She was actually happy to cook (heat up, rather) for him while he got his frustrations off his chest, because that seemed to be what she was there for. Were it any other guy, she'd probably make him get the snacks and feed her and let her rant about life and all it's bullshit. But not Teach. She sometimes hated it, but she wasn't the sassy independent woman who didn't need no man around him.
He wasn't even really the man she metaphorically needed, she just did what he told her. She did whatever he needed her to do. It was instinctual and weird but she went along with it because she didn't see a problem with it. But whatever, she didn't like thinking about it because it was so confusing.
She grinned and nodded in agreement and enthusiasm when he suggested the angry mob, but it was shot down by the next sentence. Good point, Freddie was such a little shit (and not in the Tumblr sense) that he would enjoy it if only for the attention. Her knees were bent and her body was facing towards him, as nothing else had her attention at the moment. Andie shrugged at his imposing question that seemed rhetorical until Teach looked at her with that face. Tilting her head, pouting a little bit, she reached out to pat his shoulder. "It's okay Teach, it-"
Okay, if it was anyone else, she would have busted out laughing, but with Teach she only snickered a little bit before she caught herself, then set the plate on the ground beside her chair. Resting the hand she reached out on her knee, she repeated, "It's okay, Teach. I'm sure that's not the case." She straightened her legs and sank down to the floor with him (though considerably less dramatic) to be on his level. That was better than talking above him, it seemed. She was a little hurt at the 'best friend' remark, just pure jealousy. Andie was a much better friend than Freddie and if it was just anybody else she would have said something about that, but no, this was Teach, dammit. "I don't think he's bent on your utter destruction," shepaused and awkwardly shrugged, her shoulders burning slightly from the friction on the carpet. "Maybe he's just jealous because you have all these wonderful things. Maybe he's just taking out his own issues on you because that's how he vents." She turned her head to look at him and actually laughed a little before getting serious again. "Or maybe that's all the bull a counselor will tell you and he's just being a dick. Not bent on utter destruction, just a little damage to your psyche, that's all."
Then she sat up, feeling uncomfortable laying on the ground. "All you have to do is not let him break you. You have to pretend you psyche is better put together than his, which should be easy because it totally is." She chomped on another pizza roll and swallowed. "You have to pretend like you're happy as a clam because that's the opposite of what he wants to see. I didn't walk out the door hellbent on murdering the bastard for messing with that perfect ship." Her anger with Freddie was obvious in that last line. "You have to fight back subtlety, in a way he won't notice. I think you could just take his hell with a smile and give him hell right back, without sinking to his level." She was making perfect sense right now, right? Hopefully he understood. Andie was on his side in this childish war that the other side seemed to be starting.
