Today was a good day...actually, most days lately seemed pretty good. Except for those few days where Jamie seemed to act weird--but still...it was nice otherwise. Liam had again taken off on his own, iPod in his ears, blaring music as he made his way down to central park. His pants, though they were girl jeans--seemed to almost fall off his bony hips; held only in place by a worn studded belt. He had his trademark red hoodie on, but unzipped, with the sleeves pushed up to his elbow. The hood was pulled up over his head which was also covered by a beanie, and a messenger bag strapped across his chest. Typical college kid.
"Well you're a walkin and a talkin and a movin and a groovin and a hippin and a hoppin and a pickin and a boppin. Those bods are bein' bad, you betta take a stand, You gonna wake up with that thing in your hand." He danced through central park, not really minding the few stares he got. Liam was in the ZONE, and it was like an altered state of reality. It was just him and the music blasting in his ears. If he had actually SEEN the looks he was getting, he probably would have turned bright red, panicked--ran in a different direction, gotten lost--then begged Jamie to come find him. So, it was best that he really didn't see the expressions on the faces of the others enjoying the crisp autumn air.
"You're lookin' all around, there's trouble to be found. Make sure when you find it you get to say it loud. Gotta code three! Need backup! Bring me my bright red turbo jack---" He realized that he was actually singing outloud, which of course shattered the altered state of reality he had been in. He brought his cigarette back to his lips, stared an elderly woman in the face, before turning quickly on his heel and crunching through the grass as quickly as possibly. Shit. Of course, he had to act like a total idiot. Where people could see him. Embarassing. He puffed on the cancer stick angrily, flicking it to the side when it was rendered useless, and blew out the smoke.
When he glanced up again, he saw something interesting. Someone was painting...in the park. Didn't that only happen in movies? Her blonde hair glinting in the sun made it look like she had a halo around her head. She seemed just...so peaceful. Liam reached into his hoodie pocket, and turned off his iPod and walked closer, quietly. Trying his best not to disturb her. As he moved in closer, he noticed that she was actually quite good. Liam didn't do much with actual art---he preferred music. He didn't have much of a hand for paints, or pencils; so he was always fascinated by other people who could see things like that. He kept walking until he got to her side and quietly sat down. He gave her enough space that she (hopefully) wouldn't get too freaked out.
He pulled his bag off, and reached in to pull out a plastic container of grapes, and pried off the lid, and held the container out to her after plucking a few of the sweet, juicy purple berries out. "You're really good." He said quietly, looking back at the painting with round green eyes. Was that creepy? Was he creepy? No, he was short. He was really short--really short guys couldn't be creepy, right? Hopefully not.
